Chapter 604 The Sea Monster Alliance (Part 7)

"Sirens are dolphins. I'll go and play with them for a while."

"Um."

Fifteen years later, Xiang Wan, now a young woman in her prime, arrived at a bay with Siren. They originally intended to find a shipwreck, but instead discovered many dolphins circling on the surface of the sea, preying on schools of fish that had gathered together.

This is not the first time they have been seen hunting together.

At this time, Xiang Wan would rush up from the seabed and block the escape route at the bottom of the group of fish, allowing the dolphins to eat their fill.

The dolphins recognized Xiang Wan and did not object to her arrival. Some of the smaller ones even swam up to her and kissed her arm.

From the time Xiang Wan couldn't speak, she had been cultivating the "Frost Art," gradually adapting her body to the changing water temperature at the bottom of the sea. By the time she could run, she could already conjure her own weapon and often followed the Sirens on their hunts.

Xiang Wan had already figured out that her ability to understand the sea monsters' speech was due to the exchange of spiritual energy while she was cultivating the "Three Pure Ones Scripture".

Unlike humans, sea monsters possess a very narrow bandwidth for transmitting communication signals. In other words, their signals can only be received at specific frequencies. Xiang Wan's ability to hear and communicate with them is likely due to the fact that the original owner of this body had a prefrontal cortex that was naturally much wider than others, essentially acting as an omnidirectional receiver.

As an adult, Xiang Wan was fair-skinned with reddish-brown hair, and her eyes, eyelashes, and eyebrows were golden. She was an anomaly among humans, like those with albinism. But Xiang Wan knew perfectly well that she had no problems whatsoever; these features were due to the awakening of her potential.

Siren seemed unsurprised that Xiang Wan could conjure weapons out of thin air; she simply warned her to be careful and not to go ashore too easily.

The sirens must have kept many things hidden in their hearts.

Having spent so much time together over the years, Xiang Wan had come to understand Siren's temperament. He was generally a man of few words and rarely explained anything to Xiang Wan, but his actions often left her unsure how to respond.

For example, the conch shell is a tool specifically for summoning mermaids. No matter how far away the sirens are, as long as they hear the evening blowing the conch shell, the sirens will swim back with all their might.

For example, during Xiang Wan's first hunt, she was bitten by a sea snake lurking in the shadows without knowing what was going on. The siren didn't just grab the sea snake and cut it off; instead, it soothed Xiang Wan's wound with its saliva and let her continue.

For example, if a giant, unreasonable manta ray chases Xiang Wan with its tail, the siren will tear it off and give it to Xiang Wan as a toy.

For example, Xiang Wan likes to fish for anglerfish in the deep sea, and Siren would take her there every now and then to watch how they catch their prey.

There are also the unique sights near the volcano, various small animals near the deep sea, beaches, and under the reefs. Wherever Xiang Wan wants to go, the Sirens will basically grant her wish.

As Xiangwan grows up little by little, sometimes she wants to go ashore, make a fire, and cook some food. The sirens will quietly watch from a short distance away, unwilling to leave for even a moment.

Over the years, the Sirens have consciously brought her to the shore to observe how humans live, but they have forbidden her from meeting or communicating with humans.

Xiang Wan gradually learned that beyond the sea, there was a continent where humans were the main inhabitants, with beastmen as a secondary group.

The Celestial Tigers are the most similar to modern humans, except for their incredible potential. Other tribes, such as the Rat, Rabbit, Ox, Snake, and Ape tribes, are all under the Celestial Tigers' jurisdiction. The only tribe not subservient to the Celestial Tigers is probably the Water Tribe.

In this ocean, the intelligent aquatic creatures are all enormous sea monsters. The Sky Tiger Clan intends to subdue these creatures, but the ocean is too vast, and they simply cannot stay on the seabed for long. This leaves the sea monsters lurking in the deep sea without any sense of being coveted. Without pressure or threat, their attention is mostly focused on finding a place to sleep and filling their stomachs.

The Sirens are among the most intelligent and powerful marine creatures. Many sea monsters know them and often listen to their advice. When he said Xiang Wan was a mermaid, the sea monsters regarded her as one of their own, secretly wondering when she would grow up, become a Siren's mate, and have a litter of little mermaids.

They always say the same thing, and there's no point in Xiang Wan arguing back, so she just lets them be.

After playing with the dolphins, it was already noon, and the sun was shining brightly.

As we swam deeper into the canyon with the sirens, the light grew dimmer and dimmer.

When exploring, Xiang Wan would usually conjure an ice cage beforehand, put some glowing fish inside, and carry it around as a lantern.

Below this canyon is a deep fault line, filled with reefs and undercurrents. Few fish can survive here, so there is no natural bioluminescent light source.

Before coming here, the Siren told Xiang Wan about the shipwreck, which piqued her curiosity. There must be something very valuable inside, which is why the Siren risked danger to bring her here.

After swimming downstream for several dozen meters, we encountered an undercurrent with a very rapid flow and a distinct temperature difference with the water above.

The fish in the ice cage began to dart around, indicating that they were not adapted to the environment.

The siren tied the rope woven from seaweed around his body to the tip of a reef, and the other end to Xiang Wan's waist. He then simply held onto the rope, leading Xiang Wan downstream.

The deeper they went, the faster the current became. The siren struggled against the current, and its swimming speed gradually decreased.
