Its shell, as large as a football field, was covered with spines of all sizes. Its four pairs of thoracic legs were long and thin, covered with countless tumor-like protrusions. The entire crab looked as if it were covered with parasites, its long legs were uneven, and its back was crisscrossed with several deep and shallow scars.
In short, seeing crabs like this would absolutely kill any appetite; I'd just want to get as far away from them as possible.
The giant crab steadied itself, its two basketball-sized eyes blinked for a moment, and then it moved its mouth, causing the surrounding water to flow several times faster.
"Little mermaid, what are you doing here?"
The big crab spoke in an unfriendly tone, and Xiang Wan sensed its murderous intent.
The Sirens remained unmoved and retorted righteously, "Ugly Eight, where is the shipwreck that fell into your hands?"
So, this big crab was called Ugly Eight, and adding the word "strange" would make it truly apt. Xiang Wan thought to herself.
"Siren, look carefully, who are you talking to!"
Ugly Eight swept a large chunk of rock off the edge of the canyon with a single kick, displaying an incredibly volatile temper.
"Ugly bastard, you're terrible at remembering genders."
The siren's tone remained unchanged, revealing no shift in emotion, but his fishtail tightened. Xiang Wan knew this was a prelude to his anger.
“Bringing ugly humans here, I’ve already been very lenient by not attacking you.”
Ugly Eight was rapidly spitting out bubbles, showing that it truly disliked humans.
In fact, this giant crab already considers humans its enemies. When it was very young, it was caught and then escaped from humans several times. The scars on its body were left from that time, and even after changing its shell countless times, these marks could not be erased.
The siren saved it, and it naturally remembered and appreciated the favor, but it would not allow humans to appear in front of it, otherwise it would surely go on a killing spree.

Enraged, Ugly Eight swiftly swung its pincers towards Wan, the resulting water flow dislodging the silt accumulated on the rocks on both sides, blurring the view.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Xiang Wan swam backward with the current, and with a kick of her legs, she dodged the pincers that were right in front of her.
The siren had already swum to Xiang Wan's side, gripping the rope tightly with both hands to prevent Xiang Wan from being dragged into the depths of the canyon by its pincers.
The place they were in wasn't even the deepest part of the underwater canyon, but just a platform on their way down, which was perfect for the long-legged crabs to live in.
When the attack failed, the eight-legged creature climbed up the canyon wall and used the terrain to attack Xiang Wan again.
This giant crab is not one to be trifled with. It doesn't even respect the sirens, so how could it be provoked by Xiang Wan? It was just that Xiang Wan's words gave it a reason to attack.
If the Sirens cannot conquer this giant crab, their journey will likely not be smooth.
In the blink of an eye, Xiang Wan quickly used her ice blade to cut open the rope tied around her waist and swam along the edge of the canyon to avoid Chou Ba's attack.
Seeing this, the siren no longer hesitated, swung its tail and swam over the ugly creature's body, rushing directly to its belly, and used the sharp claws on its hands to scratch along the lines on the ugly creature's abdomen.
The crab is large and has a hard, almost impenetrable shell. However, if you attack its abdomen, it has no chance of fighting back. This is because crabs cannot use their legs to stop enemies that get close to their abdomen, nor can they stop attacks from mermaids that are much smaller than them.
If it tries to attack Xiang Wan again, it will inevitably suffer the sirens' evisceration. If it wants to stop the sirens' actions, it must stop and use the protrusions on the canyon wall to shake off the sirens.
This move can be seen as a tacit understanding between Xiang Wan and the Sirens in their joint battle; they understand each other without needing to communicate.
Ugly Eight chased after Xiang Wan for a few steps before feeling a sharp pain in its abdomen. The siren had already torn open a gash, and seawater was flowing into its belly through the opening.
"Ugly bastard, stop."
The siren spoke again, but Ugly Eight became even angrier.
How could it not hate watching a human so small that it was barely a foot taller than itself escape? Even if it meant inflicting more wounds, it was determined to capture Xiang Wan.
Ugly Eight rammed its abdomen against the rock wall in an attempt to drive the Sirens away.
In that brief pause, Xiang Wan swam directly onto Chou Ba's back from above, pointed the ice spike spear she had conjured at its eyes, and shouted sharply, "Since you're not convinced, then I'll beat you until you are!"
The law of the jungle prevails everywhere.
The ugly creature might be able to handle sea creatures of similar or larger size, but against smaller enemies like Xiang Wan, it might not fare as well. Just like humans have to deal with fleas much smaller than themselves, size isn't always an advantage.
Bah! To compare oneself to a flea? You're really going backwards as you get older.
While complaining about herself, Xiang Wan threw the ice spike spear at Chou Ba's eyes.
Besieged on all sides, the ugly eight claws thrashed about, shattering rocks as it slowly sank deeper into the depths.
