Her strength in her hands and feet, honed to a considerable degree in the Crimson World, coupled with the abundance of Immortal Fruits she had consumed, made dealing with a giant python a piece of cake.
The python grew increasingly frenzied, rolling, ramming, biting, and slapping, its scales peeling off continuously, and its eyes gradually turning red.
Whether it was Xiang Wan's imagination or not, she felt that the giant python initially wanted to eat her, but now it seemed that something was wrong with itself.
Despite the commotion, Red Ball didn't wake up, so Xiang Wan simply hugged it and hid in a narrow crevice, waiting quietly.
The giant python slammed into the ground for a while, its body covered in blood, its head bleeding profusely, and its eyes losing their luster, yet it still did not stop.
The cave seemed to have expanded further from its impact, and the ground beneath its feet had become much thicker. Slowly, it stopped, its head drooping as it lay on the shore, half its body still submerged in the water.
The hissing sound gradually grew louder, and then Xiang Wan saw a scene that sent chills down her spine.
The python's scales slowly unfurled outwards, like an animal's fur standing on end. Then, large pieces of scale fell off, and from where the scales had been attached, countless dark creatures crawled out and began to gnaw on the python's carcass.
These dark creatures were about the thickness of a finger, the length of an arm, and had a large mouth with teeth when opened.
The sounds of simultaneous gnawing echoed through the cave, so dense and numerous that it sent chills down one's spine.
Just as these creatures were biting hard, the python's head suddenly moved.
Between the eyes, a hole as thick as a wrist slowly appeared, and a huge golden worm emerged from it.
This insect is different from other black insects. It has a blood-red eye, a small mouthpart, and a pair of transparent wings.
After the insect crawled out, all the black insects stopped moving and bowed to it until it let out a sharp screech, spread its wings and flew out, circling the giant python once before stopping on a protruding rock to the side.
The golden worm cried out again, and the black worms, as if receiving some kind of command, fiercely gnawed at the snake's body until only a skeleton remained. The black worms then placed a white bead the size of an egg in front of it.
The golden insect seemed excited, circling the bead once, just about to open its mouth to bite, when the red ball in Xiang Wan's arms suddenly moved.
In the blink of an eye, the red ball sprang from Xiang Wan's arms to the worm, swallowed the bead, and then sprang back into Xiang Wan's arms, falling into a deep sleep.
The worm seemed unprepared for this turn of events until the red ball returned, at which point it suddenly emitted a deafening shriek.
All the insects turned towards Xiang Wan, as if they were about to devour her completely.
Xiang Wan's scalp tingled with fear. Without thinking, she quickly grabbed the fur ball and scrambled upwards along the crevice in the rock.
Damn it, if she had known the red ball was such a troublemaker, she would have knocked it unconscious while it was asleep.
Now things are really messed up. A swarm of insects is following closely behind her, and Xiang Wan is squeezing through any gaps she can find, not even having time to look back.
It was precisely because of the appearance of these insects that her tracks were concealed, preventing those who were watching the blood-red world from tracking her down in time, which could be considered a blessing in disguise.
