Chapter 270 Blood Hunters and Vampires (18)

"Are you really going to do this, Andrew?" Andrew seemed like a completely different person to Lily, and she felt a pang of heartache. She didn't understand why Andrew had changed so drastically in just one night.

“Lily, I just want you to stay.” Andrew revealed sharp teeth, his eyes turned red, and he said the same words he had said to Lily before.

"If I stay, will I become like you?" Lily demanded loudly. "Will I become the very thing we used to hate?"

“Andrew, this girl is really rude. Why did you embrace her? Wouldn’t it have been better to just kill her?” The woman who had danced with Andrew earlier looked at Lily with disdain and a fierce glint in her eyes.

"Diana, I beg you, please let me handle this myself, okay?" Andrew flinched when he heard Diana's voice.

"Hmph, don't keep me waiting too long!" Diana finally gave Andrew face, glared at Lily, and said, "What's so great about her?" Then she wiggled her hips and left.

"You're her slave, aren't you?" Lily looked at Andrew in disbelief. "How could you do this to Uncle Sam? You've actually allied yourself with our enemy! I'm ashamed of you!"

“Lily, wouldn’t it be great to gain immortality this way?” Andrew tried to tempt Lily, but she remained unmoved.

“Andrew, what’s the point of this kind of immortality? You’ve become your own enemy, the very vampire you once hated and despised. Are you really happy?” Lily felt like she didn’t even recognize Andrew anymore. “Why did you become like this?”

“I will not accept assimilation. I want to leave. You either let me leave or you kill me.” Lily was uncompromising. Perhaps she would have wavered before, but after the second shock following Sam’s death, she developed a rebellious spirit.

It's strange how people are. Before, when her parents left, she only thought about running away. But since Sam left, she completely chose to rebel. In contrast, Andrew had thought about rebelling before, but since Sam left, he chose to submit.

Perhaps this is the difference between people?

"You know I can't bear to see you die, why are you forcing me?" Andrew clutched his head, his fangs growing longer, seemingly unable to control himself due to his rage.

Lily took a step back. "It's not that I'm forcing you, it's that you're forcing me. I'd rather die than become someone I despise. I'm sorry, Andrew, let's be strangers from now on!"

After Lily finished speaking, she was about to leave. Andrew held his head and didn't say anything, but Diana stopped her.

"Little girl, do you think you can leave here alive after knowing our secret?" Diana crossed her arms and looked at Lily with a half-smile.

“What do you want?” Lily looked at Diana warily. “Do you want my life?”

“Yes, I’m going to kill you so Andrew won’t think about you anymore.” Diana said, and in a flash she appeared in front of Lily, grabbing Lily’s neck with one hand and lifting her into the air.

Diana's grip tightened, and Lily struggled desperately, trying to pry Diana's fingers off. But she was no match for Diana; after struggling for a long time, Diana's fingers didn't budge an inch.

Lily rolled her eyes, thinking that she was going to meet her parents, Uncle Sam, and her clubmates.

Lily's hands hung limply at her sides, and her legs stopped struggling. Diana smiled disdainfully, and was about to use more force to snap Lily's neck when the person in her hand disappeared.

Realizing what had happened, Diana roared furiously, "Andrew, you'll regret this! If you keep her here, she'll kill you with her own hands sooner or later!"

Andrew didn't say anything, but carried Lily into the sky. Finally, he took Lily to the attic of Julia's little hotel. As Andrew left, he kissed Lily's forehead.

"Goodbye, my girl," Andrew said, and then flew away.

When Lily woke up, it was already dark. Her throat was burning, and as she groped her way out of bed, Julia arrived.

"Lily? What are you doing in the attic?" Julia heard a sound coming from the attic and thought it was Mabel returning. Unexpectedly, it was Lily.

“I don’t know?” Lily looked around. “This is Mabel’s attic? Sorry, I don’t know why I’m here.”

"It's alright, at least it made me happy for a moment." Julia put down the lamp she was holding and sat down next to Lily. "Darling, are you hurt?"

Lily nodded. "I was almost killed by a vampire." Lily found it difficult to say the word "vampire" now, probably because of Andrew.

"Oh my god, are you alright?" Julia exclaimed in surprise. "Wait a minute, I'll go and call Qian and Leng over."

"Leng is here too?" A rare look of joy appeared in Lily's eyes.

“I just arrived today and told me I’ve heard news about Mei Bao.” Julia didn’t ask about Sam, because Leng Yue had already told her everything. “Wait a minute, I’ll be there soon.”

Lily nodded. No sooner had Julia left than Andrew came in again. Lily saw him. "Did you save me? Thank you."

“Lily…” Andrew fell silent.

"You should leave. If they find out you've become like this... it won't be good." Lily was actually afraid that Andrew would be killed by Leng Yue and the others.

“You should stop interfering in the affairs of vampires and blood hunters,” Andrew said after a moment of silence.

"Why?" Lily asked, puzzled. "Is this the real reason you've become like this?"

“They are more powerful than you imagine. None of you... are a match for them.” Andrew had only learned some things from Diana, but that wasn't the whole story. “Perhaps, there are no more Blood Hunters in this world. You must be careful from now on. I'm leaving.”

Andrew left after he finished speaking; that was all he could tell her. Lily wanted to call out to Andrew, but she heard footsteps.

"Lily, what's going on?" Leng Yue and Qian Chen arrived at the attic after Andrew left.

“It’s cold. There are no more Blood Hunters in that manor.” Lily wanted to cry and laugh at the same time. “We’ve been fooled.”

Leng Yue was startled. "How is Andrew?"

Lily remained silent. Leng Yue noticed her pale face and asked, "Is he dead?"

Lily shook her head, her face turning deathly pale. "He... he's been assimilated..."

Leng Yue and Qian Chen exchanged a glance. They had been assimilated; they had been turned into vampires by the vampires at the Blood Hunter headquarters. "This matter is more serious than we imagined."

Qian Chen nodded. "The holy war you mentioned before has probably already begun. No, it should be said that it has never stopped!"

"What is a Holy War?" Lily sat up nervously, grabbing Leng Yue's hand. "Is it related to vampires?"

"Be careful, don't get agitated." Leng Yue propped up a pillow for Lili. "Lean against it, it'll be more comfortable."

"The Holy War is a struggle between vampires. Once it begins, it is difficult to stop, and... countless people die." Leng Yue sighed, not expecting that they would still be dragged into it.
