Chapter 16 Aren’t You Afraid?

Soon after the black fog dissipated, the person who should have been sleeping soundly opened his eyes.

Zhu Yuanqing sat up. He was not surprised by the empty space next to him. His face was calm, and he had the leisure to touch the almost non-existent wrinkles on the bed.

Compared to where he slept, the sheets beside him were so smooth that it was impossible to tell that there was someone lying there just now.

Zhu Yuanqing pursed his plump lips and reached out to touch his eyebrows, as if he felt that subtle touch that was just there and gone.

A little cool, still light, with a chill...

In short, he doesn't look like a living person.

He didn't get up, but observed the situation around him in the moonlight outside the window.

There was nothing unusual in the room, it was clean and tidy, but if you looked closely, you would notice a wisp of black mist floating outside the window, flowing around the window, like a guard patrolling the territory.

Looking again, there was also a long, thin black fog at the door, which almost merged with the gap in the door and could not be seen without careful observation.

Turning sideways, I saw a thin layer of fog covering the entire bed.

Zhu Yuanqing couldn't help but chuckle.

His superior eyebrows revealed a slight smile, the corners of his lips were slightly raised, and his eyes were full of indulgence and amusement.

Some people leave but it seems like they haven't left.

He did not bother to disturb the loyal black mist, but lay down and closed his eyes again.

I was not prepared the first two times, so how could someone succeed this time?

Besides, he is not a sleep god after working for more than ten hours a day.

Half an hour later, thick fog swept in from the crack in the door, and more black fog rushed towards the bed. A white T-shirt and short black hair slowly formed a human shape.

Pei Xia first carefully checked Zhu Yuanqing's condition to make sure that he was intact and had not changed since he left.

Then he moved his fingertips slightly, and the black mist around him gradually shrank, confirming that there was nothing unusual in the room during the time he was away.

He was too focused, and he had never been on guard against the person in the bed, so there was an obvious flash of surprise in his eyes when his hand was held.

The swirling black fog in the room froze for a moment. The danger lurking under each dark shadow was impatient and almost wanted to break free from the cage, but it stopped in the next second and became unusually quiet.

It should be said that they dispersed in an instant, just like a tiger discovered by a hunter. Although it has sharp claws and strong limbs, it still cannot stop fleeing when facing the hunter's gun.

But Zhu Yuanqing did not have any dangerous weapons. He simply reached out and grabbed Pei Xia's fingertips, as if strangling the throat of a giant beast.

Pei Xia lowered his head. How could someone lying in bed be sleepy? Zhu Yuanqing's eyes were clear and bright, with an ambiguous meaning in them. He asked at the same time, "Explain?"

Pei Xia blinked, a look of confusion on his face, and reached out to grab Zhu Yuanqing's fingers, his eyes full of clarity.

He looked no different from during the day, which always made Zhu Yuanqing feel soft-hearted. It was a pity that he had watched the entire process of the black mist man tonight and had no intention of letting this man fool him.

He withdrew his hand, sat up on the bed, avoided his arm that was reaching out again, and asked, "What should I call you? Pei Xia? Or the dungeon boss?"

The black fog by the window gently rolled up a gust of wind, lifted a corner of the curtain and slowly fell down, blowing away the innocence in Pei Xia's eyes.

The black color spreads from the center of the pupil, and the pupil, which flashes with an amber halo in the sunlight, gradually turns pure black, appearing a bit weird in the dark night.

The unchanging dull expression on his face began to change, and the skin color on his face gradually turned pale, like a ghost floating in the wilderness, cold, stiff, and lifeless.

But even such a creature, who was not sure whether it was a human, a ghost or something else, had a gentle smile on its lips.

Endless black fog came from behind, tightly binding Zhu Yuanqing's ankles and hands. He saw the man in front of him reach out and touch the side of his face, then slide to his chin.

The cold touch on the chin makes people shiver, and makes them wonder if they have touched a piece of ice.

The night was already a little chilly, and with Pei Xia no longer covering herself, the air temperature in the room dropped by one degree. Zhu Yuanqing couldn't help but tilt his head.

The fingertips on my chin shifted. I didn't know if it was an illusion, but the mist that bound me was chilling to the bone.

Pei Xia clenched her fingertips calmly, leaned over to the man who couldn't move at all, and said in a quiet and cold voice: "Then what do you think... I am?"

He calmly fixed his gaze on Zhu Yuanqing's slightly pale lips. The dangerous aura around him was becoming more and more intense, almost emerging from the air and piercing into people's skin.

He was worried about saying something that he would find difficult to accept, and he didn't want to see fear or terror in Zhu Yuanqing's eyes.

He was obviously the most dangerous person here, but Pei Xia didn't dare to meet Zhu Yuanqing's gaze at all.

He was afraid that he couldn't control himself...

Seeing this man lower his head while speaking, Zhu Yuanqing was a little confused, but he was even more worried about the question Pei Xia asked.

He answered almost without thinking: "Of course you are Pei Xia, who else could it be?"

There was only a subtle doubt and strangeness in his voice, without any disgust or rejection at all. Instead, it was extremely natural, as if he was talking to someone he had known for a long time.

Pei Xia raised his head and met a pair of brilliant starry eyes.

His deep eyes were as usual, filled with familiarity, gentleness and irresistible indulgence.

It was like a star that accidentally fell from the sky and landed directly in his heart.

The annoying chill on the surface of his skin finally dissipated a little. Zhu Yuanqing seemed to be aware of something and was hugged tightly by the body that suddenly pounced on him.

It's like being immersed in ice water, or like hugging a whole block of ice. In short, it's not a good experience.

He almost gasped.

Unable to move, Zhu Yuanqing couldn't pat Pei Xia's shoulder to ask him to move aside, or to control the uncontrollable coldness in his body.

"I'm a little cold," he said.

As soon as he finished speaking, the ice cube holding him turned into a warm human-shaped pillow, and the temperature around him quickly returned to normal.

Zhu Yuanqing breathed a sigh of relief, but at the same time, he had a guess and asked tentatively, "What's wrong? Are you in a bad mood? Or did you run into something when you went out just now?"

His attitude is so normal that it seems abnormal.

Who wouldn't be scared when seeing their daily companions transformed into aliens?

Zhu Yuanqing is in a survival game, and Pei Xia may very well be the boss of this level, but he is not afraid at all.

Doubts instantly overwhelmed all other questions. Leaning on Zhu Yuanqing's neck and shoulders, Pei Xia asked, "Aren't you afraid?"

Zhu Yuanqing didn't react for a moment, then chuckled softly and asked, "Will you hurt me?"

The head on his shoulders shook wildly.

The mist on his wrist had dissipated without him noticing. Zhu Yuanqing raised his hand and rubbed Pei Xia's head, saying softly, "Then what is there to be afraid of?"
