Chapter 28 Reason

The alarm clock silently pointed to nine o'clock. The moonlight hung high by the window, blocked by the thick silk curtains.

Pei Xia placed one hand on the quilt covering Zhu Yuanqing's body, his eyes were dark and seemed to carry a heavy weight.

The night wind was quite strong, the leaves on the trees rustled, the cicadas and frogs chirped, and there was the sound of footsteps getting closer.

Zhu Yuanqing twitched his ears and looked sideways, and saw three figures emerging from a path in the woods.

Leading the group was Yan Qing, who had died long ago, and closely behind him were Li Dapeng and Zhao Hong. There was no moon today, so the road was almost invisible, but these people were acting sneakily and didn't even turn on their flashlights.

These were memories of the past. Zhu Yuanqing did not try to avoid them, but followed them forward and listened to what they were saying.

"Is there really a mansion here? You're not trying to trick us in this remote place, are you?" Zhao Hong asked.

"How many times have you asked me?" Yan Qing changed his hand holding the hammer. "Yes, there is a big mansion! If you don't believe me, get out of here and don't be an eyesore."

"Is there no one in the house?" The young Li Dapeng was also a little skeptical.

"No one!" Yan Qing rolled his eyes impatiently. "There's just an old man, a child, and a maid who cooks. It's a piece of cake for the three of us!"

"I've checked everything out. The child has a mental illness. It seems like it's hereditary or something. Anyway, he was kicked out at birth."

"I sneaked in last time and took a look. Wow, it was that little thing." Yan Qing rubbed his fingers together. "It was just an old bottle. I sold it for 100,000!"

Li Dapeng and Zhao Hong looked at each other and increased their speed at the same time.

They walked and talked as they went, and had already figured out where to spend the money after stealing the things, and even their plans for the next few decades.

The outline of the villa appeared faintly in the darkness, and scattered rose bushes began to appear around it. Zhu Yuanqing had a premonition and took a look from a distance. It was the same as what he saw in the copy.

His heart sank as he watched the three of them climb over the high wall outside the villa, follow the path among the flowers to the restaurant, and smash open the glass door with a few hammers.

The hammer head was wrapped with cloth. Yan Qing used his strength to hammer a small hole first, then reached out to open the door lock.

They moved very carefully, but the sound of shattering glass was loud in the quiet night. The three of them exchanged glances and rushed in.

Zhu Yuanqing kept a distance from them and watched them run straight to the second floor, tie up the sleeping maid with the prepared ropes and cloth strips, and loot all the valuables in the room.

They were so nervous that many things fell to the ground, and even the cloth on the maid's eyes was not tied properly.

Yan Qing turned around and saw the maid break free from the restraints on her eyes, and looked at her face to face.

He clenched the hammer in his hand.

Zhu Yuanqing turned his head and heard him roar, followed by a strong smell of blood and the crisp sound of bones breaking.

Looking back, Li Dapeng and Zhao Hong were horrified. Yan Qing was standing beside the bed covered in blood, and a woman was lying on the bed with her eyes open.

The fallen vase broke, and several beautifully trimmed roses fell on the maid's face, covering her bloody face.

Li Dapeng and Zhao Hong obviously didn't think that someone would die. They had a big quarrel and tied up the housekeeper who came out when they heard footsteps outside the door.

Yan Qing's hands were already covered in blood. Without hesitation, he smashed a hammer into the old man's chest and frantically ransacked the other rooms.

In a panic, Li Dapeng pushed open a door and was startled by the dark shadow standing at the door.

A little child with a pair of dark eyes opened, wearing white pajamas, looked at them with his round eyes.

He had a blank expression on his face, and was not surprised by the sudden appearance of strangers, nor was he afraid of the red blood on their bodies. He did not look like a normal person.

Zhu Yuanqing's pupils shrank, and he saw Pei Xia's shadow in the outline of the child's eyebrows and eyes.

This is Pei Xia when he was a child!

He couldn't help but take a step forward, trying to stop Li Dapeng's actions, but he stumbled and his body passed through the two people and came directly to the center of the room.

"Phew, I was scared to death..." Li Dapeng wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. The fear and terror that had accumulated before turned into unreasonable anger under the cold gaze of the child.

He dropped the things in his hand, called Zhao Hong over, and walked inside by grabbing little Pei Xia's arm. The child looked only eleven or twelve years old, and was only taller than Li Dapeng's waist. He was tied to the bed with almost no resistance.

He punched Xiao Peixia on the head and casually took out a gold object and smashed it on his arm.

"Damn it, you dare to scare me? I'll beat you to death..."

Zhu Yuanqing clenched his fists, took a deep breath, and the anger in his chest grew stronger.

He should have removed the scumbag's limbs that day!

Li Dapeng at least remembered the important things. After venting his anger for a while, he and the two people who followed him packed up the valuables in the room, picked up their things and ran out.

Before leaving, Li Dapeng threw a pillow on the child's face, placed a heavy box of junk on top of it, and also placed several gold objects that he could not take away.

The room was in a mess. Zhu Yuanqing walked to the bed, stretched out his hand and just touched an object, then passed through it.

This is something that has already happened, it is just a memory, how can it be changed?

After trying several times and failing, Zhu Yuanqing stood by the bed, placing his hand lightly on the pile of things, feeling increasingly heavy-hearted.

There are still three people who haven't appeared. The matter is not over yet. Pei Xia has suffered far more than this...

As he was thinking, the scene around him suddenly became unreal. Zhu Yuanqing frowned and was unable to open his eyes due to the sudden wind. When he opened his eyes again, he was already at the door of the villa.

He looked up in surprise. The dark clouds around the moon had dispersed, and two more people were standing at the door.

Yu Wenli wore heavy makeup, had her hair in an afro-like style, and her leather jacket was covered with sequins of various sizes.

Wu Dong, dressed in a motorcycle suit, looked at the open door with envy: "Lili, shall we go in and take a look?"

They were riding their bikes around when they unexpectedly saw three sneaky people climbing over the wall, carrying several bags on their backs. The gold and silver exposed on them dazzled their eyes.

"Let's go." Yu Wenli chewed gum and pulled Wu Dong into the room first.

Not long after they went in, another person sneaked in from the side, looking around and cheering himself up.

"I just want to see what Lili is doing, just take a look..."

It was Xu Zhi when he was young.

After a while, Xu Zhi came out crawling with a few paintings in his arms. There was still a little blood on his body, and he muttered: "Murder! They actually killed people!"

He ran to the wall trembling, but was too frightened to climb over. Seeing Yu Wenli and Wu Dong coming out, he had to squat down and hide himself in the rose bushes.

Zhu Yuanqing watched Yu Wenli and Wu Dong walk out the door, then they exchanged a few words. Yu Wenli returned to the villa again, and after coming out, she left with Wu Dong.

Soon, several orange-red flames ignited from within the villa, slowly converging into a raging blaze that roared into the night wind...
