His gaze towards her was full of tenderness, but considering what he did, that tenderness became a sugar coating wrapped around poison.
Xu Nian subconsciously pursed her lips, raised her ankle, and said, "Who wants to see me? Ye Lin, can't we talk things out? Do you have to treat me like this?"
Ye Lin stared at Xu Nian's ankle for a moment, then gave an irrelevant answer. "Since Nian Nian is unwilling to make a decision, then I'll help you choose!"
Ye Lin clapped his hands with a smile, and as he lowered his hands, two burly women escorted in the bound Qu Nuannuan.
"Ugh! Ugh!" Qu Nuannuan was still struggling. There were bloodstains on her face and clothes. When she saw Ye Lin, she was terrified.
If it weren't for the two burly women pressing down on her from behind, she would have desperately tried to crawl out.
Clearly, Qu Nuannuan was thoroughly interrogated by Ye Lin.
Xu Nian's gaze sharpened, she withdrew her eyes from Qu Nuannuan, and looked at the instigator, the man who still wore a slight smile. "Ye Lin, what exactly do you want?"
"Niannian, don't you want to know what Qu Nuannuan confessed?" Ye Lin grabbed Xu Nian's hand, which was hanging by her side, and played with it carefully.
His nonchalant demeanor and casual expression sent chills down one's spine.
"I don't want to know." Xu Nian turned her eyes away from Ye Lin, naturally not noticing that beneath his gentle exterior, his eyes were already filled with madness.
"You absolutely need to know about this, Nian Nian." Ye Lin placed his hands on Xu Nian's shoulders, forcibly turning her face so that she could only look at him.
"I don't want to hear it," Xu Nian said expressionlessly.
Even without Ye Lin saying it, she knew that Qu Nuannuan must have revealed everything about the system and the original plot.
"Does Niannian not want to hear, or does she already know everything?" Ye Lin suddenly approached, a chilling smile appearing on his lips.
Xu Nian was exasperated by Ye Lin's unpredictable mood.
Looking at Qu Nuannuan who was being held captive, and then at herself who was being locked up by Ye Lin, she sighed helplessly and said, "Ye Lin, whether you believe it or not, I have no feelings for anyone else. I only like you, and I only have feelings for you."
"This love is witnessed by heaven and earth, and shines as brightly as the sun and moon; it will never change until death."
"Niannian, are you serious?" Ye Lin's eyes trembled as he looked at Xu Nian in disbelief. Her amorous peach blossom eyes seemed to say, "She's not lying to me, is she?"
Seeing this, Xu Nian used her other free hand to stroke Ye Lin's cheek.
As he stared at her in a daze, a captivating tenderness appeared on her clean and spirited face. She spoke slowly yet firmly, "Really, Ye Lin, my name is Xu Nian, the Xu Nian you can't forget. Do you remember me?"
Ye Lin was momentarily confused by the question. He felt a slight headache. Xu Nian's words sounded familiar, as if someone had made the same promise to him more than once.
But that liar!
She kept using that same phrase to coax him, but in the end, she forgot about him.
"I, you... Niannian, don't forget me, okay?" Ye Lin murmured to Xu Nian.
His eyes were vacant; for a moment, he seemed to have lost his mind, reacting only instinctively.
"I'm sorry, I can't do that right now." A trace of sorrow flashed across Xu Nian's eyes. She could only remember that someone was waiting for her, but she couldn't remember much else.
Undeniably, she loved him.
But she longed to go home, to return to that world.
She didn't know why she was so determined to go back, even though her memories were full of painful scenes.
"Niannian, why can't you lie to me?" Ye Lin hugged Xu Nian tightly, tears welling in his eyes, his strength so great he wanted to crush her in his arms.
"Ye Lin, who are you? Do I know you?" Xu Nian knew that Ye Lin was not in a good state, but she felt uncomfortable if she didn't ask certain questions.
"Liar, Nian Nian is a liar." Ye Lin repeated this sentence unconsciously.
"Yes! I'm a liar, I lied to you." Xu Nian hugged Ye Lin's back apologetically.
"Niannian, lie to me one more time!" Ye Lin's voice was muffled, filled with an empty sense of delusion.
He seemed to be chasing hope on the edge of despair, but that hope was so far away from him; he could see it, but he couldn't grasp it.
"Okay," Xu Nian replied.
Upon hearing her answer, Ye Lin, who was clinging tightly to Xu Nian, slowly loosened his grip and nestled softly in her arms, a smile playing on his lips.
Xu Nian stroked Ye Lin's hair, then looked up to find that everything around her had turned black and white. Qu Nuannuan maintained her terrified expression, while the two women behind her stared at her coldly.
Even the system inside Qu Nuannuan's body stopped functioning.
Wow! Who exactly is Ye Lin?
How could he stop the flow of time in a small world and interfere with the system while unconscious?
Before Xu Nian could think further, she noticed that everything around her was beginning to ripple.
Ripples appeared on the calm lake surface, and everyone resumed their activities.
Ye Lin, who was nestled in her arms, immediately hugged her.

She said it herself, that she only liked him, that she was only attracted to him, so what reason did he have not to believe her!
