"Ye Lin, what are you trying to say?" Xu Nian chuckled awkwardly.
Oh no, Ye Lin is too sensitive. She was so focused on using him to popularize poetry that she forgot about his keen perception.
He could hear Qu Nuannuan's inner thoughts, and with his scattered thoughts and some speculation, he realized that her origins were about to be exposed.
Noticing Xu Nian's nervousness, Ye Lin put down the paper in his hand and smiled slightly, "Nian Nian, isn't the person who wanted to steal the poems for their own use Qu Nuannuan?"
"Why do you want to stop her from doing all this, but not think about profiting yourself?"
“Niannian, what is your relationship with Qu Nuannuan? Are you rivals? Or enemies? No, there’s no hostility in your gaze towards her, nor do you see her as a rival.” Ye Lin paused here, staring into Xu Nian’s eyes, and then comparing it to the way she looked at Qu Nuannuan.
In an instant, Ye Lin's face turned extremely ugly.
When she looked at him, her eyes were shallow, without much emotion.
Only during intimate moments in bed did her eyes see his image.
But Qu Nuannuan was different. Her eyes lit up the moment she saw him; the intense infatuation she showed was something he had never seen before.

“But he took Anian away. I haven’t seen Anian, and I’m not at ease.” Xu’s father’s gentle eyes were filled with worry.
He pondered to himself, what had his daughter done to deserve such a wrath from the prince? The prince's respectful manner just now suggested that he valued his daughter, Anian, highly.
But princes are not like ordinary children. Will his son Anian suffer any injustice?
"Master Xu, Miss Xu has already met the Empress, and Her Majesty has agreed to the marriage between my prince and Miss Xu. Once Miss Xu passes the imperial examination, that will be the time for their marriage. You don't need to worry about Miss Xu's safety." Yi Zhu told her father everything she knew to put his mind at ease, fearing that he might be overthinking things.
"I understand. It's cold outside, come inside and rest!" Father Xu invited Yizhu into the house.
Both of them are men, so there's nothing wrong with them being in the same room.

She told him he could ask her any questions, but instead, he knocked her unconscious without giving her a chance to react.

Did Ye Lin bring her here to imprison her or what?
Looking at the luxurious room, Xu Nian wondered how much money these things could fetch.
"Niannian, you're awake." Ye Lin came in from outside, and when he looked at Xu Nian, his charming eyes softened.
"Ye Lin, what do you want to do?" Xu Nian sat on the bed trying to calm herself down, but the icy touch on her feet made it impossible for her to calm down.
"Niannian, there's someone outside who wants to see you. Do you want to meet them?" As he spoke, Ye Lin sat down by the bed.
