Chapter 313 The Demon-Slaying Taoist Priest in the World of Immortals (13)

"Since you've described them so eloquently, I'll have to take a good look when the time comes," Yin Mengmeng said confidently.

"I guarantee you won't regret it." Xu Nian winked knowingly.

"Go away, it's not even close to happening yet, and your fellow disciples might not even look at me!" Yin Mengmeng said with a slight blush on her cheeks.

"Not necessarily! Some destinies might have been written long ago!" Xu Nian smiled as she looked at the red star that had suddenly appeared between Yin Mengmeng's eyebrows.

...

The two of them agreed to this.

The aimless journey was suddenly changed, and they headed directly to Baiyun Temple.

Mo Xuanfeng was gone for several days before returning. When Xu Nian asked him what he had been doing, he remained mysterious and refused to say.

Because the two continued to take on jobs treating illnesses and exorcising demons along the way, it took them two months to reach Baiyun Temple.

Baiyun Temple lives up to its name, as it is located atop Baiyun Mountain.

Yin Mengmeng stood at the foot of the mountain, looking at the endless mountain steps, and then looked up at the mountain peak, where the clouds and mist obscured the end.

Turning to Xu Nian with a mournful face, he said, "Such a high place, are we all just going to have to walk up there?"

"To show our sincerity, we walked up there," Xu Nian nodded affirmatively.

"Xu Nian, I feel like it would take me three days and three nights to climb up there," Yin Mengmeng said with a wry smile.

"Don't worry, I've called my fifth senior brother to come and get you. He won't let you climb up there," Xu Nian said with a smile.

Yin Mengmeng was, after all, a guest she had invited; she wouldn't actually let her climb up.

Furthermore, she wanted to create opportunities for her to get to know her fellow students better.

I would never let her climb up there exhausted!

"Xu Nian, my good sister." In her excitement, Yin Mengmeng forgot that there was a jealous vixen next to her and hugged Xu Nian tightly.

"Stop pulling and tugging, let go." Mo Xuanfeng domineeringly pulled Xu Nian into his arms, his hostile gaze making Yin Mengmeng innocently look up at the sky.

When will the person who's supposed to pick her up arrive?

After waiting for the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, a handsome and dashing figure came down from the mountain. He was agile and leaped a few times in the mountains before arriving in front of them.

"Junior Sister Xu, it's been over a year since you left the mountain, and you've finally decided to come back." Even when facing his junior sister, Fifth Senior Brother Bi Ronghua had a serious face.

If it weren't for the concern in his bright, star-like eyes when he looked at Xu Nian, others would have thought he disliked his junior sister.

"Fifth Senior Brother, it's been a long time. How are Master and the other disciples doing?" Xu Nian greeted with a smile.

"Everything is fine, but you, I heard from Master that you came back this time to get married?" Bi Ronghua said, her gaze falling on Mo Xuanfeng.

With just one glance, he saw through Mo Xuanfeng's identity.

"A nine-tailed fox? Is he the one you're going to marry?" Bi Ronghua frowned slightly, never expecting that her junior sister's beloved would be a spirit fox.

"Fifth Senior Brother, didn't Master tell everyone?" Xu Nian asked in surprise. She had made it very clear when she wrote to Master, so why did that old man deliberately conceal Mo Xuanfeng's identity? Was he trying to cause trouble?

“No.” Bi Ronghua shook her head as she looked at Xu Nian.

"Greetings, Fifth Senior Brother. My name is Mo Xuanfeng, and I am Nian Nian's husband. From now on, we are all family. I hope you will take good care of me." Mo Xuanfeng bowed deeply with a smile on his face.

"No need for formalities, let's discuss everything after we get up the mountain!" Bi Ronghua glanced at Mo Xuanfeng, neither agreeing nor disagreeing with his identity.

Seeing this, Xu Nian quickly pulled Bi Ronghua in front of Yin Mengmeng and introduced her, "Fifth Senior Brother, this is my close friend Yin Mengmeng. She is a doctor with superb medical skills. I have been saved by her all this way."

“This is my fifth senior brother, Bi Ronghua,” Xu Nian said to Yin Mengmeng.

Bi Ronghua had noticed Yin Mengmeng's presence earlier, but due to his status, he couldn't stare at the girl. Only now did he have the chance to see her face clearly.

With her delicate features and gentle smile, the moment their eyes met, Bi Ronghua could no longer look away from Yin Mengmeng.

The world fell silent, and he heard his heart pounding wildly, as if it were about to leap out of his chest.

He was very flustered. He wanted to greet the girl, but his mouth betrayed him and he couldn't utter a single word for a long time.

Yin Mengmeng did the same. She looked to Xu Nian for help, only to see Xu Nian wink at her and then leave with the fox spirit.

From afar, you could still hear her instructing Bi Ronghua, "Fifth Senior Brother, I'm entrusting my dearest friend to you. I'll take Mo Xuanfeng to see Master and the others first."

With Xu Nian gone, the two who had come to their senses felt a little awkward, yet they couldn't help but steal glances at each other.

Finally, Bi Ronghua broke the silence first, saying, "My junior sister is acting a bit erratically today, please forgive her, Miss Yin."

Yin Mengmeng shook her head upon hearing this: "She took good care of me along the way. Xu Nian is very kind, and I didn't help her much."

"How long have you known Miss Yin and my junior sister? How did you two meet?" As soon as Bi Ronghua finished speaking, she realized that her tone was off, sounding a bit like she was interrogating someone.

He immediately changed his tune, saying, "Miss Yin, please don't misunderstand, I didn't mean anything by it."

"I just want to know how my junior sister has been doing these past year or so, and whether she has encountered any danger," Bi Ronghua said with a hint of embarrassment on her serious face.

“It’s only natural for a Taoist priest to care about his junior sister, I understand.” Yin Mengmeng’s anxiety disappeared, and she calmly began to talk to Bi Ronghua.

The steps leading up the mountain were long, but the two walked and talked, taking breaks now and then, so they didn't feel the journey was too long.
