During their conversation, the two gradually became acquainted, and the taciturn fifth senior brother that Xu Nian had mentioned became a thing of the past.
When Bi Ronghua learned that Yin Mengmeng was unmarried, her heart was pounding in her chest.
Thinking of his single fellow disciples at Baiyun Temple, and then looking at the girl in front of him who had captured his heart, Bi Ronghua mustered up his courage and confessed his feelings.
Yin Mengmeng blushed and did not immediately agree, but said she needed to think about it.
...
"Niannian, is it possible for Yin Mengmeng and your fifth senior brother to get together?" Mo Xuanfeng and Xu Nian stopped and looked around in a pavilion.
“It’s not a big problem. You know, some people’s marriages are preordained. As long as they meet at the right time and in the right place, they can be together,” Xu Nian said with a smile, leaning against the railing.
In the original story, her fifth senior brother, Bi Ronghua, was the second male lead, but unfortunately, he met the female lead too late, which led to his lifelong regret.
Mo Xuanfeng glanced at the two people curiously, then looked away out of boredom.
So what if it's a preordained fate? He and Xu Nian's fate was also preordained.
"It seems they get along quite well, let's go!" Xu Nian pulled Mo Xuanfeng toward Baiyun Temple.
The two had only walked a short distance when they saw their senior brother standing in the mountains with his hands behind his back.
He smiled and nodded at the two of them, then struck with lightning speed, his magic sword aimed straight for Mo Xuanfeng's lifeline.
In the second instance, Mo Xuanfeng pushed Xu Nian away, revealing his fox tail behind him, and began to exchange blows with his senior brother.
Xu Nian watched the two fighting back and forth without intervening or trying to stop them. Instead, she quietly took out a bag of snacks that Mo Xuanfeng had prepared and watched the show with Yuanbao.
Yuanbao was brought up by Mo Xuanfeng the whole way because he didn't want Xu Nian to carry him, so he carried him himself.
"Big Brother, keep it up, kill this vixen!"
"Senior brother, beat him up, beat him up badly."
Yuanbao cheered excitedly from the side, while Xu Nian turned her head away speechlessly.
She neither helps either side, nor can she help either side.
The act of blocking the road was a gesture of goodwill from everyone, and also an opportunity for Mo Xuanfeng to prove himself to Baiyun Temple.
The clanging sounds of fighting didn't last long; in the end, the eldest brother lost.
Mo Xuanfeng withdrew his fox demon and bowed to his senior brother, saying, "I apologize for my offense."
"Not really. There are eight of us brothers in total. Apart from the fifth brother who came to pick you up and me, there are six others waiting for you. If you want to marry our junior sister, you'd better think twice," the eldest brother said with a cold and arrogant face.
"Thank you for reminding me, Senior Brother. I will do my best," Mo Xuanfeng said gratefully.
"Don't talk nonsense, I didn't warn you," the senior brother said with a dry cough.
Mo Xuanfeng smiled without saying a word, and the senior brother pretended not to see it, turning to go and chat with Xu Nian.
After a brief exchange, the three continued their ascent and, after walking a short distance, encountered the second senior brother.
They exchanged a brief greeting and then quickly began fighting.
The following scene is similar to the previous one: the second senior brother is defeated and expresses his approval of his junior brother and brother-in-law, Mo Xuanfeng, and then the group continues to climb.
Next was the third senior brother...
Fourth senior brother...
Sixth Senior Brother...
Eighth junior brother...
Ninth junior brother...
After defeating the Ninth Junior Brother, the group finally arrived at the entrance of Baiyun Temple.
Master Xuancheng, the abbot of Baiyue Temple, stood in front of the mountain gate with a whisk in his hand and a kind face.
Xu Nian stared at her master's full head of white hair and wrinkled face, then looked at Mo Xuanfeng with some difficulty.
He could beat up her fellow disciples at will, but he couldn't do that to her master.
"Don't worry, Niannian, I know what I'm doing." Mo Xuanfeng squeezed Xu Nian's hand, gave her a reassuring look, and then took a few steps forward.
Master Xuancheng bowed slightly and smiled, "This old Taoist has learned a lot about the Fox Demon King's skills today."
"Master, please." Mo Xuanfeng spat out his magic weapon, and nine tails appeared behind him.
His demeanor as an immortal descending to earth was quite intimidating, but as soon as he clashed with Xuancheng Daoist, he began to retreat steadily.
Even with a flick of Xuancheng Daoist's whisk, he coughed up a mouthful of blood.
"Mo Xuanfeng!" Xu Nian exclaimed in alarm.
She wanted him to stop attacking her master, but she didn't tell him not to fight back!
"Niannian, I'm fine." Mo Xuanfeng wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, smiled easily at Xu Nian, and continued fighting with Xuancheng Daoist.
In just a few moments, he was flung away by Xuancheng Daoist with a whisk, lying on the ground coughing up blood, unable to get up.
"Mo Xuanfeng." Xu Nian was so concerned that she completely ignored the abnormal energy fluctuations during their fight and the fact that there was something fishy about Mo Xuanfeng's injury and vomiting blood.
Seeing Mo Xuanfeng spitting blood, Daoist Xuancheng twitched his lips and sighed, "Alright, all of you come in!"
"Niannian, did you hear that? Your master let me in." Mo Xuanfeng said to Xu Nian happily.
"Yes! I heard you." Xu Nian nodded and helped Mo Xuanfeng up.
He leaned on her, and the two of them entered Baiyun Temple together.
Master Xuancheng wanted to tell Xu Nian that the fox demon king was alright, but he didn't want to embarrass himself, so he could only maintain his image as a superior person and return without looking back amidst the admiring gazes of his disciples.
As soon as the group sat down in the reception room, the sound of firecrackers went off outside, along with the chirping of birds.
As everyone approached the entrance to the reception room, they looked up in confusion and saw more than a dozen large birds circling in the air, each carrying a bright red fox on its back, with two vermilion boxes placed beside the foxes.
The Taoist priests at Baiyun Temple are not the type to fight and kill demons and monsters whenever they see them. As long as there is no hostility and they do not cause harm to the world, they generally do not interfere.
