Chapter 136 The Female Professor's Tribulations (Thirteen)

The sound of spatulas clattering came from the kitchen, and soon a fragrant aroma wafted into the house. Cheng Hao looked up and beckoned to Shi Lan, "Come and serve the dishes."

Shi Lan responded, washed her hands, and brought out the stir-fried lettuce with fermented black beans, diced chicken with pineapple, the meaty dish that she had praised so highly last time, plus a large bowl of seaweed and egg drop soup. She also prepared herself and waited for everyone to arrive before starting the meal.

About two minutes later, Cheng Hao came over with a small plate of fried, tender, and golden-yellow shrimp chips.

Cheng Hao pushed the plate towards Shi Lan, "Here you go, your favorite."

Shi Lan smiled slightly, picked up a piece, took a bite, and found it incredibly crispy, with the same subtle shrimp flavor as before.

Shrimp chips were actually the original owner's favorite food. When she was a child, her mother would fry some for every festival. Cheng Hao often ate there back then. Shi Lan was young, and Cheng Hao liked to tease her and always fought with her for the food. In fact, he didn't eat much; most of it ended up in the original owner's stomach.

After eating two more pieces, Shi Lan put down her chopsticks, straightened her expression, looked at Cheng Hao who was still being very cautious, and finally spoke, telling him about Han Chunyan's visit that afternoon and why she and Liu Jinxiang had broken up.

Cheng Hao's face turned ashen after hearing this. Shi Lan had never told him the specific reason for breaking up with Liu Jinxiang. Although Cheng Hao had guessed a bit before, he did not expect it to be so serious. Thinking of how Liu Jinxiang had caused his beloved junior sister to lose her right to be a mother, his arms stiffened and anger surged up.

"You don't need to worry about this," Cheng Haoqiang said slowly, suppressing his anger.

Upon hearing this, Shi Lan looked completely bewildered. This matter concerned her father, so how could she, as his daughter, ignore it?

Cheng Hao suppressed his thoughts, smiled gently, reached out and patted her head, saying, "These are all minor matters. You focus on preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam. Don't worry, I promise to handle things properly and won't let the teacher get involved in any way."

Shi Lan nodded.

Cheng Hao picked up a piece of meat from her plate, which smelled delicious. "Eat more. It was a little salty last time, so I put in less salt this time."

Shi Lan grinned at him, picked up a piece of meat that was fried to perfection, and took a bite. The light spiciness was mixed with the fresh aroma of ham and the oily fragrance of lean meat. A few carrot pieces absorbed the excess oil. When chewed, it was neither too soft nor too hard, neither too oily nor too greasy. After eating it, a slight fragrance lingered in the mouth, truly leaving a pleasant aftertaste.

Shi Lan's appetite was whetted, so she picked up another piece and started eating.

Seeing her relaxed expression and radiant complexion, Cheng Hao smiled slightly. (To be continued.)
