"Miss Shi, I beg you, please leave Mr. Liu," Han Chunyan said, grabbing Shi Lan's hand with tears in her eyes.
Shi Lan shook off her hand with a bewildered look on her face, "I have no idea what you're talking about."
Seeing that Shi Lan was about to leave, Han Chunyan quickly stopped her, saying, "Miss Shi, I am already pregnant."
Shi Lan looked at her strangely. What did her pregnancy have to do with her? It wasn't her who made her pregnant. However, it probably wouldn't be good to say nothing at this time, so she thought for a moment and said, "Then... congratulations."
Han Chunyan was stunned, probably not expecting Shi Lan to say that.
Shi Lan gave her a strange look, then walked away.
Han Chunyan snapped out of her daze and only saw Shi Lan's graceful figure walking away. Han Chunyan gritted her teeth in hatred and shouted, "Do you know who this child's father is?"
Shi Lan stopped in her tracks. Who could it be? It could be that man or Liu Jinxiang. Could she have other lovers?
Shi Lan's malicious speculations were none of her business. She really couldn't understand what Han Chunyan was thinking. Shouldn't she have notified the father of the child if she was pregnant? Why was she talking to someone who was unrelated to her?
When Han Chunyan saw her stop, she remembered that Liu Jinxiang had told her that Shi Lan could no longer get pregnant. A smug smile appeared on her lips. She walked up to Shi Lan in her high heels, touched her belly, glanced at Shi Lan, and said in a soft, coquettish voice, "This child is Mr. Liu's."
Shi Lan frowned slightly. Just a moment ago, she felt a sharp pain in her stomach, just like the pain she felt when she first entered this body.
"So what if it is?" The voice was cold and hard, as if a biting wind was howling past.
Shi Lan panicked, unable to believe that the voice was actually hers.
Han Chunyan was startled by the voice and took a half step back. When she came to her senses, she looked somewhat embarrassed and annoyed. She then circled Shi Lan halfway in her high heels and said, "It's not a good thing. President Liu is a man of great loyalty. He felt it would be too unkind to break up with you like this. Plus, he's been busy lately, so things between you two have been delayed. I originally thought that this wasn't urgent, and that I should at least fulfill his loyalty. But plans don't always go as expected. As you can see, this child is disobedient and came here in a hurry. As his mother, although I'm angry that he came at the wrong time, I still have to think about things for him."
Shi Lan stood quietly, waiting for what was to come.
Han Chunyan stared at Shi Lan and said, "I came here today to tell you that you should stop getting entangled with President Liu in the future. Also, go to the Liu family again and explain the relationship between the two of you clearly. I don't want to be criticized behind my back."
Perhaps feeling more confident, Han Chunyan was no longer the pitiful soldier she had been moments before. She supported her waist, her pregnant belly protruding, and adopted the air of an empress, ordering Shi Lan around in a domineering manner.
Shi Lan looked up at her and truly felt that she was the epitome of excellence.
Now you're afraid of being criticized? Then don't have done it in the first place. She dared to have a wild time with a man who was already taken, but she didn't dare to bear the consequences of doing this.
Look at her behavior, who would believe she's not a mistress?
Shi Lan glanced at her coldly, too lazy to even say a word, and simply walked away.
Seeing Shi Lan's attitude, Han Chunyan said angrily, "You're just jealous. You can't have children yourself, so you're envious. Let me tell you, destroying other people's happiness will bring retribution. You deserve to be unable to have children in the future."
Shi Lan stopped, her fair fingers clenched tightly. At this moment, she truly regretted not giving her a good beating that day. If it weren't for her reason repeatedly rising, she really wanted to turn around and punch her nose into her brain, making her remember how that child was lost, and letting her experience what retribution really felt like.
Han Chunyan stood with her hands on her hips, her high breasts heaving. "Shi Lan, if you know what's good for you, do as I say. If this gets out of hand, as long as you're not afraid of losing face for your professor father, I don't care."
Shi Lan frowned, her mind racing, and she made her decision at that moment, weighing the pros and cons.
Going to the Liu family was indeed not her wish, but compared to Shi's father's reputation, those grievances were actually bearable.
"Okay, I'll go back." Now that the decision has been made, it's alright to soften my stance a little.
Upon hearing this reply, Han Chunyan was stunned. She had only made the threat subconsciously and hadn't really held out much hope. Perhaps nothing was more important to her than herself. So, apart from a moment of joy, she began to doubt the truthfulness of her words.
"Really? When are you planning to go?"
Shi Lan frowned, feeling extremely disgusted by Han Chunyan's relentless pressure. At this moment, she really wanted to launch the plan she had previously devised, to let her taste what it felt like to be condemned by everyone.
The man's warm smile flashed by, and Shi Lan sighed softly, wondering if he would still show that smile after he found out his wife had a child with another man.
"I'll go as soon as I'm done with these few days," Shi Lan said, and quickly left. She was worried that if she was even a second late, she would punch her artificial nose and smash it to pieces.
Back in her apartment, Shi Lan was a little irritable, having completely forgotten about her planned trip to the supermarket.
It wasn't until the city lights came on and Cheng Hao came over that she remembered this matter.
Cheng Hao noticed that she was in a bad mood, so he asked her what was wrong.
Shi Lan said irritably that it was nothing.
Cheng Hao looked at her, poured her a cup of warm water, pulled her to sit down, and said softly, "Rest for a while, we'll eat later."
After saying that, he got up and went to the kitchen, where soon the sound of plastic bags rattling could be heard.
Shi Lan sighed softly, feeling somewhat apologetic, knowing that she had overreacted and caused Cheng Hao to suffer.
Just now, she really couldn't control herself. She clearly had a way to punish that bitch, but she just couldn't get over her own conscience. She could only hold her anger in and couldn't vent it.
