Chapter 176 Soft Girls Need to Be Strong (Part 5)

It took a tremendous amount of effort to finally remove a forelimb that was thicker than those of other insectoids. Shi Lan spat out the outer layer of the nutrient solution, waved the severed limb a couple of times, weighed it in her hand, and nodded in satisfaction.

The wall next to them seemed to be awakened by the wind, and after a series of cracking sounds, it collapsed with a crash.

Huge boulders rolled all over the ground with a rumble, and Shi Lan, without thinking twice, quickly darted inside.

The billowing smoke and dust filled the entire space. Shi Lan squinted and waited for the dust to settle before looking around. She immediately noticed the pitted marks on the slightly smaller insect corpse caused by the stones, and some of the dented parts were still oozing liquid.

Seeing this, Shi Lan felt a chill run down her spine.

At this moment, she was very fortunate that the insectoid creature was not smart enough, otherwise she would either be crushed into a meat patty by these rocks or flattened into a sheet by that big guy.

Shaking off the dust, Shi Lan turned to look inside the house.

The spacious liaison room had several partitions, and she was in the outermost one. Through the broken glass, she could see several round objects standing inside, two of which had holes cut into them and were empty.

After seeing those insectoid creatures of all sizes, Shi Lan knew without anyone telling her that these were the eggs laid by the mother insect.

Recalling the gruesome scenes she had witnessed, Shi Lan did not hesitate to wield the severed limbs she had just removed and shred the eggs to pieces.

After doing all that, she stepped through the door, which had been gnawed down to only half its original size, and walked inside.

There was a large control panel covered with broken glass, and the floor was covered in blood, mixed with a few strands of textile fibers that were barely visible if you looked closely. The four corners of the roof had recessed spotlights embedded in the walls, and there must have been a light in the middle, but now it had been taken over by a huge insectoid creature.

Looking at the Zerg hanging upside down as if it were dead, Shi Lan felt a little uneasy. Was this the thing that the original owner called the Mother Zerg?

Apart from having a larger belly and a smaller size, it's no different from the ones I've seen before, unless you ignore the light brown round ball on its rear end.

When the Zerg saw Shi Lan enter, its abdomen twitched rapidly twice, its large compound eyes stared fiercely at her, and its sharp forelimbs spread out, slashing rapidly towards her, as if trying to drive her away.

Shi Lan pursed her lips, strode forward, and slashed at it with the bluish-purple severed limb in her hand.

The insectoid creature seemed unable to move, enduring Shi Lan's blow head-on. It let out a shrill, mournful screech before trembling and falling to the ground with a thud.

Brown liquid flowed rapidly from its headless body. Shi Lan moved her feet away from the disgusting liquid, squinted at the slightly swaying sphere above, and with a jump and a slash, knocked the sphere to the ground.

The sphere was still very soft at this moment, and it immediately became a flat piece when it hit the ground. Shi Lan rushed up and stomped on it several times to make sure that nothing would crawl out alive from inside before going to the control panel by the window.

Following the original owner's memories, Shi Lan easily connected the wires, and a noisy buzzing sound came from the other end of the signal.

Shi Lan patted the microphone in front of the control panel and kept calling into it. After about ten minutes, intermittent echoes came from the other end.

Shi Lan perked up and quickly gave her location. Only when the other party replied that they would come to rescue her did she relax her tense nerves.

Suddenly, a buzzing sound came from outside. Shi Lan turned her head and was horrified to find a swarm of insectoids flying up outside the window, covering the sky and completely blocking the intense midday sun.

Shi Lan's heart trembled. The scene of the original owner's death flashed before her eyes, and a sense of unwillingness surged in her heart. Shi Lan suddenly felt a fighting spirit. Since the original owner wanted to show that O was never inferior to A and B, then she would start now and let this entire alliance see that a soft and cute O-type girl could also stand tall and fight bravely on the front line of a war.

Shi Lan gripped the severed limb in her hand and jumped directly onto the control panel.

A cool breeze carrying a nauseating stench swept over her. Shi Lan pursed her lips tightly, staring fearlessly at the insectoids who were glaring at her menacingly.

The insectoids flapped their wings like sharp swords and charged towards Shi Lan. Shi Lan swung his severed limbs and, taking advantage of the moment when they were about to land but had not yet settled, slashed directly at their most vulnerable necks.

Brown blood splattered continuously, and fragments of broken limbs bounced off the wall and splashed back. The massive insectoid body collided with shards of glass that were about to fall, sending the fragments flying inward and scraping against Shi Lan's body, leaving streaks of blood.

Shi Lan gripped the severed limb tightly, blood slowly flowing along the edges of her torn clothes, but she seemed oblivious, continuing to wield the severed limb and reap the lives of one insectoid after another.

Below the small building, a mountain of corpses had been piled up, but the sky above remained dark and oppressive, and as time passed, the black mass gradually pressed down on Shi Lan.

Shi Lan breathed heavily, her previously accumulated strength almost completely depleted. At this moment, she wasn't sure if she could save her life and fulfill the original owner's wish before rescue arrived. The insectoids continued their relentless advance, and Shi Lan stood tall and proud by the window, like a warrior facing the wind.

The insect corpses below the small building had piled up to the height of three stories. The insectoids knew they couldn't go in directly, so they simply placed their claws on the bodies of their dead kin.

Shi Lan stared intently at the insectoid creature that bared its teeth at her, revealing something resembling saw teeth inside.
