With a chilling wind blowing overhead, Shi Lan dared not stay in place any longer. She quickly let go and dodged to the side, while the insectoids beneath her seized the opportunity, extending their forelimbs from both sides to block her retreat.
Shi Lan quickly glanced around, then simply grabbed its wing and slid down behind it.
The Zerg's movements were swift and ruthless, but Shi Lan's reaction was equally quick. After narrowly dodging the attack, she turned her head and saw that the sharp serrations had deeply embedded themselves in the back of the Zerg beneath her, with brown blood gushing out like a spring.
With a violent jolt beneath it, the massive insectoid shook its body violently, probably in too much pain. It angrily raised its forelimbs and hooked a claw at the insectoid opposite it, tearing off its head.
Seeing this, Shi Lan quickly grabbed its wings and climbed up. Since its own kind had already attacked, she didn't mind finishing it off.
Pressing down hard on the serrated teeth embedded in its back, the insectoid creature thrashed about in pain, seemingly trying to shake Shi Lan off.
Shi Lan didn't hold her body still; instead, she simply hugged the gap in the serrated edge with her arm, using her own strength to widen the wound along with its force.
Before long, the insectoid seemed to realize Shi Lan's intention. It stopped shaking and stood on its hind limbs, leaning back to crush the little thing that was causing trouble on its back. However, it forgot that the forelimbs embedded in its body were still connected to its dead kin. As it fell backward, the force it faced was not Shi Lan's small weight, but that of its kin who was only two sizes smaller than it.
The wound began to expand rapidly. The insectoid turned its head to look at its kin that it had killed. It was clear that it now knew the mistake it had made, but it was too late. After a violent clang of metal against metal, brown liquid gushed out like a floodgate being opened, and the ground was almost instantly covered by its brown liquid.
Shi Lan slowly slid off its limp body, spat out the sand in its mouth, and looked at its two metallic-looking forelimbs, pondering how to remove it. (To be continued.)
