Chapter 189 A Soft Girl Needs to Be Strong (18)

The sound of a doorknob being turned came from the doorway, followed by the sound of a door being slammed shut, and then Moore's anxious shouts, "Miss Shi, are you alright?"

Seeing the door shaking violently and seemingly unable to hold on much longer, Shi Lan was so anxious that beads of sweat appeared on her forehead. But she forced herself to focus her mind and called out to it again and again.

Finally, Haoze's cool voice echoed in her mind, "What is it?"

Shi Lan didn't care about anything else and hurriedly said, "Something has happened to me. You need to find a way to get me away."

Haoze paused for a moment, seemingly lost in thought.

A loud 'bang' came from the doorway. Shi Lan opened her eyes. The door lock had been broken and bounced open, but was blocked by the cabinet she had positioned by the door.

“Miss Shi,” Moore said, struggling to stick his head in to see how she was doing.

Shi Lan was extremely anxious and tried to get up, but her body felt like a puddle of water, limp and unable to move at all.

Moore pushed the door open a little wider, and then quickly put his lips to the side and said loudly, "Miss Shi, please say something. If you are alright, I will come out."

As they spoke, the air inside the room wafted out, and Moore accidentally inhaled it, quickly retreating.

Shi Lan didn't know what was going on. She saw Moore, whom she thought would barge in, suddenly slam the door shut in a panic and yell at her through the door, "Why don't you stay here and I'll go out and find someone to come and help you?"

After he finished speaking, a series of hurried footsteps gradually faded into the distance.

Shi Lan breathed a sigh of relief. The potential threat was gone, and she now had the energy to fight against her strange behavior. Even if she couldn't control the beast in her heart, it didn't matter, since she was the only one in the entire house.

Haoze remained motionless, while Shi Lan's face was flushed. She gripped the blanket tightly with both hands and twisted her body forcefully, her still somewhat immature body twisting into a uniquely alluring shape.

Shi Lan's body was very hot. She felt as if every breath she took was like breathing fire, and what she inhaled was firewood, making the flames in her body burn brighter and brighter.

Gradually, she began to lose her senses, and a phantom appeared before her eyes. It was a man with a broad back and tall stature, with long, black hair draped over his shoulders. A gentle breeze blew his hair aside, revealing his fair profile and his high, straight nose.

Shi Lan licked her lips, looking at him with a dazed expression, muttering something unintelligible. A warm sensation surged within her, suddenly filling her with strength.

She scrambled off the bed, lunging forward in a flustered manner, barely managing to grab the hem of his robe.

The man was somewhat surprised; he stepped to the side as if to avoid her.

A cool sensation emanated from my palm, a pleasant and refreshing feeling.

Shi Lan was not about to let him go, so she quickly pulled him into her arms, and even pulled him a little closer when he tried to pull his robe leg out.

The man sighed softly, his pale fingers hovering in the air, seemingly in a difficult position.

Shi Lan's face flushed red. Even though her instincts had taken over, her sense of shame remained, so she forcibly restrained herself from letting go of the fabric she was holding in her arms.

The man, now free, looked at her.

Shi Lan turned around and tried to walk away.

The man sighed softly and came over to pick her up.

With her eyes closed, Shi Lan felt as if she were enveloped by a wave of cool water, which calmed the raging fire in her heart.

She wrapped her arms around his strong waist with a hint of greed, feeling his taut, stiff muscles. She smiled slightly, and for some reason, even though she couldn't see the man's face, she was certain he wouldn't hurt her.

The man raised his hand and gently stroked her cheek, his large palm covering her eyes. A cool sensation washed over her, and Shi Lan tilted her head, sinking into darkness.

When she woke up again, it was already bright daylight. Shi Lan opened her eyes, looked around the room, and was momentarily confused.

She couldn't tell whether last night was a dream or reality.

After tidying herself up, she moved the cabinet, opened the door, and found that the lock had indeed been chipped from the impact.

Shi Lan tilted her head and thought for a long time, which meant that Moore had indeed appeared, and that the man was real.

Shi Lan tried hard to recall what happened next, but her mind was a complete blank, and she couldn't remember anything after that.

The sound of leather shoes tapping on the ground came from downstairs, and soon the sound continued all the way up the stairs.

Shi Lan straightened her back and looked at the connection between the stairs and the corridor with a smile. Soon, Moore led a middle-aged woman down the stairs.

As soon as he stood still, he saw Shi Lan standing at the door.

Are you alright?

Moore ran up to her in a few quick steps, looked her up and down, and then said happily.

Shi Lan smiled and nodded without saying a word.

The woman approached and looked at Shi Lan with a smile. "Hello, Miss Shi, I am Moore's mother. You can call me Maria."

Shi Lan suddenly realized that this was the fan who had watched her videos over a hundred times with Moore. "Hello, Maria."

“Okay,” Maria was overjoyed to hear her long-admired hero greet her. She pulled Shi Lan aside and said, “When Moore told me that you were an Omega like me, I didn’t believe it. But it turns out it really is.” She looked Shi Lan up and down and said, “You are prettier in person. You are a good match for my Moore.”

Shi Lan blinked, somewhat at a loss for words.

Moore blushed deeply with embarrassment. "Mother, what nonsense are you talking about? I'm a B."

Maria said dismissively, "What's wrong with B? I think you're better than most A's. They're all good-for-nothings. Who else is as knowledgeable in biology as you?"

Moore lowered his head shyly, avoiding Shi Lan's gaze, and whispered, "Mother, stop talking. Don't forget the important reason I invited you here."

Maria then remembered and quickly pulled Shi Lan inside, ruthlessly leaving Moore outside.

"Son, I heard you sent out a signal last night?"

As soon as the door was closed, Maria got straight to the point and asked.

Shi Lan frowned, recalling Moore's words from back then, and nodded, saying, "Probably."

Upon hearing this, Maria immediately began to unbutton her clothes without saying a word.

Shi Lan quickly took two steps back, dodging her fingers, and looked at her in surprise and suspicion, "Maria, what are you doing?"

Maria rolled her eyes and said, "I'm giving you a check-up. When you first release a signal, your spouse has to help you process and resolve it. If not, you'll definitely hurt yourself." She leaned closer and started unbuttoning her clothes, saying, "I've been there, I have experience."

Shi Lan pushed her hand away and smiled politely, "I'm not hurt."

Maria still didn't believe it and laughed, "It's okay, we're both omegas, no need to be shy, just once is enough."

Shi Lan nodded affirmatively at her and said, "It's not because I'm shy, I'm really not injured." She unbuttoned a few buttons in front of her clothes, revealing her fair and smooth skin to Maria.

Maria stared in astonishment, and after a long while she exclaimed, "No wonder he is a hero who can kill the mother insect. Even Chu Shi is so extraordinary."

Shi Lan's lips twitched, feeling helpless. Her mind, however, was preoccupied with the man from last night. Who exactly was he? (To be continued.)
