Chapter 7

Chapter 7

"Get out of my way! You've dirtied my oranges!"

Inside An Garden on the back mountain of Hanguang Temple, Rong Rong slapped Du Shaofeng's hand away hard.

Du Shaofeng shed tears of grievance, "Wife, I want to eat too."

"A fool doesn't even deserve to eat!" Rong Rong sneered. "Get lost! Just looking at you annoys me!"

Du Shaofeng lowered his head, occasionally raising his arm to wipe his face haphazardly. The mud on his sleeve mixed with his tears, turning his once handsome face into a black and white mess.

Cui Cui stood behind Rong Rong, glaring angrily at Du Shaofeng.

The servants of the Du family in the distance kept their heads down, pretending not to see anything.

Similar things happen every day.

Everyone knows that Rong Rong despises the mentally challenged Du Shaofeng and treats him extremely poorly.

But no one had the heart to blame Rong Rong; they just felt that someone as celestial as Rong Rong deserved the best in the world.

To have a fool as her husband is an insult.

Although that fool is their true master.

To avoid being discovered by the mistress of the house for standing by and watching the eldest young master being bullied, the servants of the Du family all pretended to be very busy and left the scene.

"These oranges are no longer edible, Cui Cui, go and get me a new plate."

Rongrong was feeling down, and Cui Cui obeyed and left.

As soon as the person left, Du Shaofeng immediately sat down next to Rong Rong, looking up at her with a silly grin, "Wife, was I good just now?"

Rong Rong cupped Du Shaofeng's still somewhat chubby face and kneaded it into various shapes, exclaiming, "That's wonderful! Our Shaofeng is getting smarter and smarter!"

No one knew that the two actually had a good relationship, but in order to maintain her public image, Rong Rong would only be close to Du Shaofeng in private.

The two are playmates, friends, and even family.

Du Shaofeng's presence brought a ray of light to Rong Rong's lonely heart, making her even more vibrant and dazzling.

"I was the first host I knew!" 666 complained.

"Of course you're my best friend!" Rong Rong quickly reassured her, "And we'll be friends forever!"

"Hehe." 666 burst out laughing instantly.

Considering that the fool Du Shaofeng could only stay with Rong Rong for a few months, it decided not to bother with the poor wretch.

666 stood with her hands on her hips, feeling quite relaxed.

Poor Du Shaofeng, who knew nothing, was still grinning foolishly.

He treated cooperating with Rong Rong in front of outsiders as a fun game, and Rong Rong's gentleness towards him in private as their little secret.

I look forward to playing with Rongrong every day.

At that moment, Rong Rong was peeling an orange and feeding it segment by segment to Du Shaofeng.

Du Shaofeng followed suit and fed Rong Rong.

When Cui Cui arrived from afar, Rong Rong immediately stopped, while Du Shaofeng hurriedly picked up all the oranges and ran away crying.

"Hmph, you ruined my young lady's life and you still have the nerve to cry!" Cui Cui cursed fiercely, then walked to Rong Rong's side with a stern face.

"It's all the Du family's fault!" Rong Rong slammed her hand on the table in anger, then quietly put her hand behind her back, feeling a slight pain!

"Okay, that's enough. Quick, I want to eat an orange!"

Rongrong looked like a little glutton, and Cui Cui immediately forgot about the hateful Du family and Du Shaofeng, happily peeling oranges for Rongrong.

Hehe, who doesn't envy her now? She's Rong Rong's personal attendant!

Inside the study of the Du residence.

Du Shaoling looked down at the book in his hands, completely unaware that he hadn't turned a page in a long time.

Suddenly, a guard entered and bowed to report.

"Today, a group of people tried to kidnap Miss Rong, but we and the disciples of Hanguang Temple stopped them."

"Whose people are they?" Du Shaoling raised his eyes, a chill emanating from him.

"We didn't manage to capture anyone alive, and we didn't find any clues on them." The guard's voice was dry.

"Useless trash!" Du Shaoling's eyes narrowed, and he glared sharply at the guard, who immediately knelt on one knee. "This subordinate deserves to die!"

With his heart pounding in his chest, the guard knew all too well how formidable his master was; if he failed in his mission this time, he might even lose his life.

Finally, the cold voice rang out again, "Go and receive your punishment tonight, and keep watch over the people."

"Yes!" The guard breathed a sigh of relief.

Du Shaoling frowned slightly, his expression displeased.

When Du Shaoling learned that it was Prince Yu who helped Du Shaoqun and even sent him back to the Du residence, he intentionally made preparations in advance.

He specifically persuaded Du's father and mother to send his elder brother and Rong Rong to Hanguang Temple. Now it seems that Master Kongji was indeed reliable.

He was just too reliable, and even he found it difficult to enter Anyuan.

Du Shaoling felt helpless upon thinking of this.

But it's good to keep people around; they'll have a chance sooner or later.

Du Shaoling twitched the corner of his mouth, while the guards continued their reports.

"Miss Rong still dislikes the eldest young master, and she didn't let him get close today."

The two always slept in separate beds and never shared a room.

Upon hearing this, the oppressive atmosphere surrounding Du Shaoling finally dissipated, and the guards breathed a sigh of relief.

He knew that saying these things would make the second young master happy, even though he said the same things every day...

After taking a nap in the afternoon, Rong Rong lied and said she wanted to take a walk alone to clear her head. She then sent Cuicui away and quietly went into the peach grove in the backyard.

As you walk deeper in, the rich aroma of roasted meat fills the air.

Rong Rong quickened her pace and saw Du Shaofeng holding up a roasted rabbit and waving excitedly at her.

"Wife! Quick, something delicious!"

Living in Anyuan was fine anywhere, but Rongrong couldn't stand eating vegetarian food every day.

So she and Du Shaofeng would always avoid people and secretly have extra meals for themselves.

Despite his seemingly silly appearance, Du Shaofeng possesses a magical charm that makes him approachable. Small animals are never afraid of him and often approach him on their own initiative.

This made obtaining their food rations effortless.

Rong Rong happily sat down next to Du Shaofeng, and before she was even fully seated, Du Shaofeng put the meat to her lips.

Without a second thought, Rong Rong took a big gulp, feeling incredibly happy.

After that, Rong Rong kept eating, one bite after another, and in the blink of an eye, half of the rabbit was in Rong Rong's stomach.

When Du Shaofeng tore off another piece of rabbit meat and brought it to her, Rong Rong shook her head, "I'm full, you eat it."

"Huh?" Du Shaofeng was instantly disappointed. "Okay."

He stared longingly at Rong Rong, dawdling as he ate his barbecue.

He loves feeding his wife, but she eats very little. If he eats slowly, will she get hungry again?

Thinking of this, Du Shaofeng slowed down his eating even more.

Rong Rong watched Du Shaofeng eat meat with amusement. Du Shaofeng, with his simple mind, wore his heart on his sleeve.

After enjoying Du Shaofeng's funny antics for a while, Rong Rong finally turned her attention to her surroundings.

It is early spring now, the season when mountain peach blossoms are in full bloom.

Rong Rong smelled the fragrance of peach blossoms and was surrounded by a pink ocean, feeling incredibly relaxed and happy.

Not far away, a bunch of peach branches drooped down. Rong Rong got up to pick them, but as soon as her hand touched the ground, she felt something wet, slippery, and soft, and it seemed to be moving.

Looking down, she saw a snake coiled up beside Rong Rong's hand.

"Snake!" Rong Rong quickly let go and dodged.

Du Shaofeng lunged forward and covered the snake with his entire body.

Then, with a soft "Ah!", all was quiet.
