To Lorian, everything that happened today felt more like a delusion before his death. He thought that perhaps he had already died in this heavy snow, and all of this was just his unwilling imagination before he died.
He met a wonderful person. She didn't mind lying to him, nor did she mind that he was mixed-race. She gave him a warm blanket and hot water, and told him that he now had a home.
"If you despise yourself, that's really terrible." Lorian murmured these words to himself. For the first time in his life, someone told him that he should like himself, and that his origins were not something he could choose.
Lorian buried his face in the blankets. She had cleaned him with her cleaning magic, and so had the blankets. She was in the next room, perhaps only a wall away from him.
He whispered, "Goodnight, sweet dreams."

The next morning, Ye Jiu started rummaging through the warehouse. Since she had adopted this little succubus, she first wanted to understand the characteristics of this race. Oh right, she also wanted to study the elven race, wondering which racial talents this hybrid had inherited.
Finally, a thick, long-forgotten "Racial Atlas" resurfaced. A cleaning spell was cast on the book, and it instantly became as clean as new.
Ye Jiu picked it up, turned to the table of contents, and began searching for the information she needed.
The continent where Ye Jiu is located is called the continent of Meria. The entire continent is divided into seven major cities, which are the territories of humans, demons, elves, mermaids, dragons, dwarves, and succubi.
This world is full of magic and various magical elements. The prerequisite for learning all magic is having an affinity for magical elements, but we won't discuss that for now.
Succubi are creatures that feed on the lust of other species. Before adulthood, they can survive on normal food, but once they reach adulthood, they will starve to death if they do not receive enough lust. This has led to the succubi's amorous and promiscuous lifestyle.
Elves, on the other hand, are a race completely opposite to succubi. Loyalty and unwavering devotion are the most common traits associated with them, and it is extremely common for one elven couple to die unexpectedly while the other commits suicide for love.
Ye Jiu pondered, what would happen to Lorian, who was of mixed race? What would happen to him after he came of age? How did these two strange and diametrically opposed races come together to give birth to him...?
There are many grooves but no openings.
...
"Ye... Ye Jiu?" Luo Rui'an called out from the door of Ye Jiu's room.
The panic of not being able to find her overwhelmed his mind. Not seeing her seemed to confirm that it was all just his imagination. The sun rose, and the illusion vanished.
Lorien stood in the living room, unsure of what to do.
Ye Jiu heard someone call her to come out of her book and replied loudly, "I heard you! Good morning, Luo Rui'an."
Lorien looked in the direction of the sound and saw Ye Jiu walking out of the basement, carrying a book in her arms.
It's not a dream...
He breathed a sigh of relief. "Good morning, Ye Jiu."
Ye Jiu, realizing he might not know anything about succubi or elves, raised the "Race Compendium" in her hand, "Would you like to learn about yourself?"
Lorian nodded slightly. "Is it all in this book?"
Ye Jiu spread the book out on the wooden table. "Yes, there will be some information about mixed races later on, but it's very fragmented and you'll need to be patient to flip through it."
Lorien glanced at the words on the book, then at Ye Jiu, who was engrossed in reading it. He suddenly realized that he was illiterate, and the words looked no different from twisted insects to him.
Ye Jiu noticed he wasn't reading and looked up to ask him, "Aren't you interested?"
Lorrian hurriedly explained, "No...no..." His face flushed red, "I, I don't understand..."
Ye Jiu slapped her forehead. "Sorry, I forgot. Let me guide you through the lessons from the beginning."
Fortunately, Lorrian was quite clever and didn't spend too much time learning the alphabet from scratch.
"Alright, that's enough for now. Let's go eat." Ye Jiu interrupted, as she hadn't eaten since this morning.
It was called breakfast, but it was really just bread and water. Ye Jiu muttered, "I'll buy a set of kitchen utensils when I go to town next time."
There used to be a set of cooking utensils, but Ye Jiu used them to cook potions. For her safety, she decided not to use those things to cook anymore.
She could manage on her own, but now that there's another person in the house, she should buy a new one as soon as possible.
However, when it comes to the issue of food, Ye Jiu thought about how succubi can no longer eat ordinary food after they come of age. What will happen to Lorian then?
Ye Jiu propped her chin up with one hand. She remembered seeing a recipe for a nutrient solution in a book before, which was suitable for all races. She would look it up later and wonder if it would work for adult succubi.
After finishing her bread, Lorien held her water glass and cautiously observed Ye Jiu out of the corner of her eye, wondering what she was thinking.
"By the way, would you like to go to town with me to buy some things? You need some clothes that fit well, and I also need to buy a set of kitchen utensils and some potion ingredients."
Lorian's eyes lit up, but then dimmed again as he remembered his tail. "But mixed-race people aren't allowed in town..."
"Is there such a rule?" Ye Jiu scratched his head, wondering why this was being regulated.
Lorian's tail swayed slightly, hooking around Ye Jiu's wrist.
His face turned bright red, and he reached out to free Ye Jiu's wrist from the tail. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to, this tail sometimes goes out of control."
Ye Jiu found it intriguing, "Hey, it can actually get out of control? So you can't keep it under your clothes for long?"
"Hmm...hmm, it will sneak out..."
No wonder he lived such a miserable life; that unruly tail had done a great service.
"It's alright, I can teach you illusion magic. With a little bit of visual illusion, you can make everyone unable to see your tail." After saying that, Ye Jiu took out her magic wand and chanted a spell.
After the obscure incantation was finished, a beam of light struck Lorian's tail, and he was surprised to find that he really couldn't see his own tail anymore!
He stood up and turned to look behind him. "Huh? I really can't see it anymore..."
He reached out to touch the area of ββhis coccyx and could still feel his tail, but he definitely couldn't see it.
"How amazing!"
Ye Jiu nodded. "It's just a slight change in the lighting, and the tail is now hidden. As long as you cover the tail, you can come into town with me."
As the tail "disappeared," Lorian's face remained smiling, and he would occasionally turn his head to look behind him.
"Then, how long will this magic last?"
Ye Jiu touched her chin and thought for a moment, "A day, that's about twelve hours."
Lorrian was clearly disappointed; he wished it were permanent.
Ye Jiu raised her hand and ruffled his hair. "Don't be so disappointed. I can cast another spell on you if the magic fails, and I'll teach you how!"
