It was already evening when Ye Jiu returned to the forest. With the nutrient solution on her mind, she threw the things on the ground and went into the basement warehouse to look for books.
Before leaving, he told Lorian, "You can play however you want. I won't feel at ease until I find that book."
In the blink of an eye, he was all alone in the living room. He looked around and then squatted down to start organizing the things he had bought, while also familiarizing himself with the arrangement of things in the house.
During the tidying process, it was discovered that Ye Jiu had left many things lying around after using them, so Luo Rui'an also helped tidy them up.
When Ye Jiu found the books, the room was much cleaner. She was stunned for a moment before realizing that it was probably Luo Ruian who had tidied it up.
"Wow, Lorian, did you help tidy up the room?!"
Lorian peeked out from behind the bookshelf. "Um... I was just helping to pick up the things on the floor and put them where I thought they should be." He quickly added, "If you mind, I can put them back where they were."
"How could I mind! Thank you so much! I've been meaning to tidy up the room for a long time, but I kept putting it off." Ye Jiu smiled. "If it weren't for you, this room would probably have been a mess for a long time to come."
Lorrian relaxed; it was great that she didn't mind, so he could do something to make his existence more meaningful.
"By the way, can you cook?"
It was getting late, and they hadn't had dinner yet.
He pursed his lips. "I've seen others do it, but I've never done it myself..."
Ye Jiu frowned. Well, it was normal for him not to, but that didn't stop her from dreaming of the possibility.
When Luo Rui'an saw Ye Jiu frown and her face suddenly turn pale, he assumed that she was very angry about his inability to cook.
He quickly added, "I can try, I can learn!" His voice lowered, "Don't be angry... okay?"
Ye Jiu put the book she was holding on the table. She didn't hear the second half of what she said, and asked in confusion, "Huh? What did you say? If you can't cook, then I'll have to do it myself. I hope you won't mind my cooking."
Lorrian mustered her courage, "I...I'll do it, I can do it."
"But you don't know how, do you?"
"I can learn, I learn things very quickly!"
"Don't force yourself, I can do it too. I was just asking casually." Ye Jiu opened the kitchen door, which was covered in dust from not having been there for so long.
Ye Jiu used cleaning magic to clean the kitchen and exclaimed how wonderful it was to have magic, solving all problems with a single click!
Luo Rui'an followed behind Ye Jiu, and seeing her enter the kitchen, he was so anxious he almost cried, "It's not that I'm forcing myself, I can do it! Let me do it..."
Ye Jiu turned around and tilted her head to look at him. "Why are you suddenly so... um, stubborn..."
She stepped aside from the kitchen doorway. "Alright then, if you insist, you can do it. It's okay if you fail; there's still bread at home."
Loriel took a cookbook from the bookshelf and went into the kitchen. Ye Jiu looked at the book with suspicion. Hmm? Did she have a book like this on her living room bookshelf?
Never mind, there are too many books left by Serena, she doesn't remember them all.
Ye Jiu couldn't help but speak up, "If you can't, just call me. I'm brewing potions in the potion room. Speak loudly and I can hear you. Don't force yourself. This meal isn't absolutely necessary."
Loriel nodded obediently, "Go ahead and get busy, I'll take care of it."
Ye Jiu hesitated as she walked out, but couldn't help wanting to look at him, so she kept turning back every few steps.
A kitchen killer is someone who can blow up a kitchen, so she doesn't have such high expectations; she just wants him to stay out of trouble.
"Call me if anything happens!" Ye Jiu couldn't help but shout again.
“Okay, I got it!” Lorian replied loudly.
Maybe nothing really is wrong?
Ye Jiu entered the potion room and then realized that she had left her book on the desk outside. While getting the book, she couldn't help but take another look at the kitchen door.
Seeing how methodical and skilled he was, I thought, "Huh? He really seems to know how to cook? But didn't I say I'd only ever watched others cook?"
Is he a genius?!
Regardless, Ye Jiu was relieved and took the book into the potion room to study the nutrient solution.
The information about nutrients in the book was vague and the dosage was not precise, so Ye Jiu had to figure it out himself.
Add a little here, add a little there, the color seems wrong, oh well, let's keep adding, it's obviously impossible to succeed on the first try.
Ye Jiu didn't know how much time had passed, but she had failed four times already.
There was a knock on the door.
"Enter."
Lorian poked his head out from outside the door. "Sorry to bother you. I've finished cooking. I was going to call you after you finished, but I've been waiting for a long time. If I wait any longer, it'll probably get cold..."
Ye Jiu exclaimed in surprise, "Has it taken that long? I should be apologizing for keeping you waiting."
She tossed what she was holding onto the table, extinguished the flame beneath the crucible, and said, "Let's go eat."
Lorrian must really be a cooking genius; the food on the wooden table looks incredibly tempting.
Ye Jiu couldn't wait to put it in her mouth; the delicious beef soothed her empty stomach.
"He's alive..."
The moment Luo Rui'an saw Ye Jiu eat it, his expression relaxed; thankfully, it wasn't too bad.
Actually, he didn't succeed on his first try; he just ate all the previous failed attempts.
"That's amazing! You're a genius!" Ye Jiu mumbled through his mouth, "I was worried you'd blow up the kitchen."
"I never knew you were so talented at cooking."
The feeling of being praised was exceptionally pleasant, and Lorian's face unconsciously flushed. "Thank you... thank you..."
