“Use this as a base for the snowman!” Ye Jiu gestured for him to attach it to the snowman in her hands. “Then I’ll use magic to keep it in this state. This is the first snowman we’ve made together!”
Following Ye Jiu's advice, Lorian fitted the comical snowman with a base that didn't match its body.
Ye Jiu watched him finish assembling it. "After you've secured it, I'm going to put it on the windowsill."
Luo Rui'an nodded, agreeing with whatever Ye Jiu said.
Fix it with magic so it will never melt away, and let it protect the little house on the windowsill!
Having done all that, Ye Jiu patted the snowflakes off her hands. "Alright, let's get down to business now."
"What am I supposed to do?" Lorian asked, tilting his head. What should he do?
"Close your eyes, then don't think about anything, feel the natural breathing, feel the elements that are close to you, and when you can still 'see' the colored elements even with your eyes closed, then you have succeeded."
"Any color will do. Green is the wood element, yellow is the metal element, blue is the water element, red is the fire element, and brown is the earth element. The number of colors you can see means which elements you can use. The brighter the color, the more compatible it is, and you will learn the magic corresponding to that color very smoothly!"
"As for the illusion magic I'm going to teach you, it's very basic magic, and you can learn it if you're compatible with any element."
Ye Jiu's description was abstract because that's how it was written in the book. She herself "saw" it shortly after closing her eyes, and she couldn't describe her feelings in detail. He could only figure it out for himself.
Even though Lorian didn't understand, he obediently closed his eyes, cleared his mind, and tried to feel...
While Lorien was feeling the snow, Ye Jiu squatted down and started making snowballs.
She made one snowball after another, until the fifteenth snowball, when she heard him exclaim in surprise, "I see it! It's green!"
Ye Jiu jumped up from the ground. "It's wood element!"
She brushed the snow off her hands and wiped them with her trousers. "Most elves are wood elementalists. It seems you've inherited their magical talent."
Lorien's eyes were serious. "Is it that impressive?"
"Hmm, the wood magic of the elves is very powerful!"
"Can I learn it later?" Lorian pointed to himself, clearly not quite believing it.
"Of course! You'll definitely be a very powerful magician in the future!"
"Are you talking about me?" Lorian asked repeatedly to confirm.
In his mind, magicians were all very powerful people. They wore expensive magic robes and strange hats, and they were supported by people wherever they went.
