Yun Jia obeyed her, and although she was unwilling, she still stretched out her right hand and opened it. There were some dried bloodstains on her palm.
Ye Jiu's vision went black, and she lightly slapped the back of his hand as punishment, "How did it get so serious? Why aren't you applying the medicine properly?"
Letting go of his hand, Ye Jiu walked out, saying, "Wait for me, I'll find you a handkerchief to wipe yourself."
Yun Jia sat obediently by the bed and waited. Ye Jiu came back with a wet handkerchief in her hand, moved a stool and sat opposite Yun Jia, carefully folded the handkerchief and wiped the blood off him.
Ye Jiu grabbed Yun Jia's hand and said, "If I touch your wound and hurt you, just tell me."
Ye Jiu lowered her head and stared intently at Yun Jia's hand, carefully wiping away the bloodstains from his palm, avoiding the several crescent-shaped marks.
Yun Jia also lowered his head, but he did so to look at Ye Jiu. He liked this moment when Ye Jiu's gaze was on him and only on her.
The white handkerchief was quickly stained red with blood, but fortunately it was cleaned up. The wound was exposed, and Ye Jiu took a closer look and found that it seemed to have been made by a fingernail.
She looked between his fingers and sure enough, there was blood inside.
Ye Jiu's actions startled Yun Jia, who immediately pulled her hand away and hid it behind her back. "It's alright... no need to apply medicine."
Ye Jiu frowned and asked seriously, "When did you break it?"
She's always been a bit frivolous, laughing and joking all the time, but when she suddenly gets serious, it can be quite intimidating.
Yun Jia gave her a fawning smile, "I broke it this afternoon."
Ye Jiu flicked his forehead, saying, "Do you think I'm stupid? That's obviously a fresh wound. Besides, if it was Yun Shu who got hurt this afternoon, he would have noticed it long ago. He would have come to tell me as soon as he walked in."
Ye Jiu grabbed his hand, preventing him from putting it behind his back. "You pinched it when I came back, right?"
