Chapter 200 The Ruthless Patriarch 9 (1/2)

The butler, carrying a food box, gently knocked on Zi Xi's room door.

Zi Xi tossed and turned on the big bed for a while before finally getting up, putting on her shoes, and slowly opening the door.

"Madam, you haven't eaten all day, so the young master asked me to bring you food."

The housekeeper smiled and handed over the food box, which Zixi accepted with a smile and thanked him.

After the housekeeper left, Zixi closed the door, sat down at the table, and opened the lunchbox. The aroma immediately wafted out.

The meat, vegetable, and egg soup was nutritionally balanced, but Zixi, who had eaten hot pot last night, had no appetite at all. She slowly drank the soup, and after a few bites, she put down her chopsticks.

Zi Xi looked at her phone for a while, then lay back down on the bed.

Pei Mozhi frowned more and more as he watched. They hadn't done anything special yesterday; they just ate hot pot, and then washed up and went to bed.

Why does she look so tired?

She only ate a small amount of food, and the dishes weren't really to her liking.

Under the high-definition lens, everything in the bedroom can be seen very clearly.

On that huge bed, the white down comforter was puffed up in a ball.

Zi Xi remained lying on her side, facing the direction he had been lying in the night before. Her head was almost entirely buried in the soft pillow, with only half of the back of her head and her black hair scattered on the pillow showing.

She slept very soundly, the blanket rising and falling rhythmically with her very slight breathing.

The entire scene was silent, as if the pause button had been pressed.

Pei Mozhi stared at the still blanket, his brow furrowing involuntarily once again.

The time displayed was 9:47 PM.

Pei Mozhi tapped the cold metal frame of his phone with his knuckles in frustration.

How long is she going to sleep from last night to tonight?

Even pigs can't sleep as well as she can!

He stared at the motionless blanket in the night vision surveillance footage, hesitating whether to ask the housekeeper to check on the situation again, when the scene finally changed.

A slender, fair hand laboriously pulled open the edge of the down comforter from the inside.

Like a cat that has just woken up from hibernation and is extremely unwilling, Zi Xi slowly and laboriously crawled out from deep under the covers and turned on the bedside lamp via voice.

This made it even clearer for Pei Mozhi to see that Zi Xi's hair was messy from sleeping, with a few unruly strands sticking up stubbornly.

She sat on the bed, still half asleep, staring blankly into the air, clearly not quite back to her senses.

Just then, the cell phone on the pillow, like a death warrant, instantly shattered the tranquility of the bedroom.

The names that kept appearing on the screen dispelled some of Zi Xi's lingering sleepiness, and her eyes suddenly turned cold.

He is the original owner's father.

She took a deep breath and swiped to answer the call.

"Zhao Zixi! You think you're all grown up now?! Who did you even consult about something as important as getting married?! Do you even care about me, your mother, or your sister?! Do you even care about this family anymore?!"

Before he could even fully bring the phone to his ear, Zhao Dehai's familiar roar from his memories exploded through the speaker, echoing in the quiet room.

The sound was so loud that Zi Xi immediately turned on the speakerphone.

"Father……"

Just as Zi Xi was about to retort, she was immediately interrupted by even fiercer barrage of attacks.
