Madam Chu's voice grew softer and softer. They had tried everything, but still couldn't save their son.

Chu Chenzhou felt himself being dragged into a detention cell. The back of his head hit the tiles, and his vision went black for a moment. Then, a rain of fists and kicks rained down on his body and head. He tried to fight back, but he was no match for the overwhelming force.
The sound of bones breaking, accompanied by Chu Chenzhou's screams, echoed in the bathroom. Pain overwhelmed him like a tidal wave. Someone grabbed his hair and slammed his head hard against the edge of the sink.
A sharp pain shot through his right eye, and warm tears streamed down his cheek. Chu Chenzhou's world suddenly went dark.
"Stop! What are you doing?"
In the distance came the shouts of prison guards and the sound of running footsteps.
The weight pressing down on him was gone, but Chu Chenzhou could no longer stand up. He curled up on the damp ground, his right eye bloodshot. He could only vaguely see the scarred man squatting down and whispering in his ear with a smile, "Don't worry, losing an eye isn't the end. We'll meet again someday."
