Chapter 98 The Dual-Personality Senior 3 (1/2)

Ji Chen's temples throbbed.

Last week?

He did go to the coffee shop last Wednesday, but that was to discuss the week's activities with club members!

That girl was also the team's design lead, responsible for beautifying the PPT presentations.

Aside from work-related communication, they didn't exchange a single unnecessary word!

"Don't let his puppy-like appearance fool you, Ji Chen is a master of disguise!"

"At first, they'll send handmade chocolates and write love poems. Once the girl is in love, they'll start disappearing, using the silent treatment, and forcing her to break up with them!"

Wen Wan continued to embellish the story, and Su Yao's fingers tightened slightly, her expression softening somewhat.

She seemed to have taken it to heart.

"A senior student I know from the foreign language department almost got depressed and dropped out of school because of him!"

"I'm still seeing a psychologist..."

Wen Wan pressed her advantage, pausing deliberately before speaking in a meaningful tone.

Su Yao suddenly hesitated. Wen Wan was never one to speak without reason. Could Ji Chen really be that bad?

Is he a scumbag who's good at pretending?

Is he a jerk?

Ji Chen, who was behind the tree, couldn't listen anymore.

He crushed half a withered leaf between his long, slender fingers, and the fragments fell softly from between his fingers.

He took a deep breath and strode out of the shade of the sycamore tree.

"Junior Wen."

Ji Chen stood against the light; the autumn sun gilded his tall, imposing figure, but it couldn't penetrate his cold eyes.

The sound startled Wen Wan so much that she trembled all over and turned around abruptly as if struck by lightning.

"Can you explain what you just said?"

He approached slowly, his sneakers making a sickeningly loud sound as they crunched over the fallen leaves.

Wen Wan's face turned deathly pale instantly, and she subconsciously took a half step back.

Those fabricated charges seemed utterly absurd in the eyes of the person involved.

After all, Ji Chen was a well-known model student in the Finance Department and a regular on the scholarship list. Apart from Xue Xunzhi from the Computer Science Department, there was no better male student in the entire university.

"I…………"

Her lips trembled, but she couldn't utter a complete explanation.

"So, in Wen's eyes, I'm that utterly wicked?!"

"Should we go to the academic affairs office right now and find out exactly how many female classmates I've ruined?"

Ji Chen suddenly smiled, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.

When Su Yao was overheard talking badly about someone else, she took a step back in embarrassment, as if to indicate that she had not participated in speaking ill of her senior.

But his eyes still darted between the two men with suspicion. Did they know each other?

"Senior Ji..."

"You... what are you doing here..."

Wen Wan finally regained her voice, but it was softer than a mosquito's hum.

There's probably nothing more embarrassing in the world than this: the person being slandered behind your back gets overheard.

“I took a shortcut to the library and happened to pass by. I heard my name and stopped to listen.”

"I really didn't expect to hear such a... ridiculous comment from my junior!"

Ji Chen sneered, and Wen Wan unconsciously stepped back.

Her gentle fingers gripped the backpack strap tightly, her knuckles turning white.

"Um... senior might have misheard..."
