Chapter 623: Cold Beauty vs. Younger Loyal Dog (Stray Dog) 23

Because they had an appointment to paint, Chen Yao and Chi Ye met on the terrace in the afternoon.

The weather is pretty good today, the sky is blue and the clouds are beautiful.

After Chen Yao set up the drawing board, she looked up at Chi Ye who was adjusting the air conditioner temperature and said, "Would you rather stand or sit later?"

Chi Ye replied: "It's all right."

Chen Yao: "Okay, then sit down. I'll draw a sketch of the portrait to see the effect."

Chi Ye: “Yeah.”

After a while, he sat in the seat in front of her as Chen Yao requested, facing her.

Chen Yao's beautiful and slender fingertips casually held the pencil, turned it slightly, changed her grip, and then stared at his face intently.

"I really want to see you smile, Chi Ye." She said suddenly.

"Hmm?" Chi Ye raised his eyes.

"That time when we watched the meteor shower that night and you suddenly smiled..." Chen Yao suddenly felt that the memory was still fresh.

"But forget it. If you keep smiling, your face will become stiff. Just try to stay relaxed." As Chen Yao spoke, her hand quickly sketched out a few strokes.

In order to avoid wasting too much time and considering that this was Chi Ye's first time doing this task, she planned to finish it as quickly as possible so as not to leave him with a boring and bad first attempt experience.

It took about ten minutes from the initial design to the line drawing. Although it was considered fast, Chen Yao could still feel Chi Ye's stiffness.

"Are you tired?" she asked.

"Not tired." Chi Ye had actually been watching her the whole time, and as he watched, he felt that she looked very different when she was painting seriously than usual. There was an indescribable... extra... beautiful look to her.

"What's wrong?" When Chen Yao raised her eyes, she saw that he was distracted and paused in his hand movements.

"It's nothing, just continue painting." Chi Ye said.

Chen Yao smiled and continued what she was doing, saying, "How about we go out for a drive tonight after I finish painting? I'll drive, how about that?"

Chi Ye asked: "Where are you going?"

Chen Yao said without hesitation: "Anywhere is fine, just drive around and take in the scenery along the way."

Chi Ye: "Okay, but do you really not need me to drive? The roads here are not that easy to drive."

Chen Yao said firmly: "I will drive, I want to drive."

Chi Ye smiled and said, "Okay, then you drive."

Chen Yao almost instantly caught the smile he just had, her eyes flickered slightly, and her hands moved faster.

......

It took about an hour, and Chi Ye's portrait painting was finally almost finished.

While Chen Yao was checking to see if there were any details that needed to be added, she asked Chi Ye to stand up and move around so that he wouldn't sit stiffly.

Chi Ye responded, stood up and poured two glasses of water, one placed in front of Chen Yao and the other in his own hand to drink.

After finishing his drink and putting down the cup, he walked over to Chen Yao to look at the finished product of her painting.

However, what surprised him was that he actually had a smile on his face in the painting?

But did he laugh just now?

Chen Yao put down the paintbrush in her hand, raised her hand to look at her dirty hands, and casually took a wet towel to wipe them.

"I've finally finished the painting. Take a look. What do you think?"

“It’s a very good painting.”
