A jumble of noise reached Pan Yang's ears. When he opened his eyes, he saw a person with half of their face rotten standing in front of him. Then he saw the zombie open its mouth to bite Pan Yang.
Pan Yang quickly drew his white sword and cleaved the zombie in half at the waist. However, the upper half of the zombie fell to the ground and was still struggling to crawl toward Pan Yang. Pan Yang simply stomped on it and crushed it. Only then did the zombie truly stop moving.
Pan Yang poked the zombie with his white sword, scaring the boss half to death.
Only then did he look up and look around. He found himself in a messy alley. Stepping out of the alley, he found the entire street deserted. He found a safe place to continue the story.
The original owner's name was Shen Panyang. Her parents were officials, and she had an older brother named Shen Yu. The original owner was spoiled from childhood, but when she was eighteen, the zombie virus broke out.
When the outbreak occurred, Shen's parents were in a meeting in City A, and only Shen Yu and the original owner were at home. At first, they could still contact each other by phone, but later the signal was completely lost.
However, Shen Yu was fortunate to have awakened her superpower and continued to protect Huan Yang. Then, the people arranged by Shen's father also found the two of them. Unfortunately, during a zombie horde, the original owner was scratched by a zombie.
Only then did he realize his brother's true feelings. His brother disliked him, was jealous of him, and even wanted him dead. Thus, he was abandoned. Shen Yu told everyone that the original owner of this body was directly eaten by zombies.
However, the original owner did not die and awakened superpowers. When he returned to City A, his parents were missing, and Shen Yu went mad in his pursuit of immortality, starting to research the zombie virus and sacrificing many people.
The original owner would have tried to stop it, but unfortunately, he was not strong enough and was eventually swallowed up by the zombies.
The current storyline is set when the original owner was first abandoned by Shen Yu and had just awakened her supernatural abilities.
The mission is simple: stop Shen Yu's conspiracy and ensure humanity's survival.
After receiving the plot, Pan Yang's eyes lit up: a zombie world! Does this mean...hehehehe?
001: "Host, you can't kill Shen Yu directly!"
"Why should I!" Pan Yang protested.
"No means no! Host, you haven't exposed his conspiracy, so in the eyes of humans he's still a good person! Killing him will only cause a sensation!"
001 felt utterly exhausted, wondering why the host was so rebellious.
"Help! Someone, please save us!" a woman's voice cried out.
"Listen to me, I'll rush over, and you just run."
"No! Brother, you're my only family."
Following the sound, Pan Yang found an alley completely filled with zombies. At the very back of the alley stood a pair of twin siblings with nowhere to escape.
The younger sister grabbed her older brother's arm: "Brother, if we die, we die together!"
"What are you doing!" The boy was a little angry, but looking at his sister's determined eyes, he finally sighed: "Yeah, if I die, no one will protect you."
Just as the two closed their eyes, preparing to face their deaths, the zombies did not rush at them.
The brother and sister opened their eyes with some confusion, only to see that all the zombies in the alley were lying motionless on the ground, while Pan Yang stood on the zombie corpses with a white sword in his hand.
The sunlight was dazzling on Pan Yang. After a long while, his younger sister spoke up: "Hey, benefactor, can you come down? The sunlight is too bright." She squinted and rubbed her eyes because she couldn't stand it anymore.
"..." Pan Yang fell silent. Shouldn't the two of them be grateful? He rolled his eyes, jumped off the zombie, threw the white sword back into his space, and prepared to leave.
Seeing this, the brother and sister quickly followed.
"Thank you for saving me. My name is Shang Bei, and this is my sister, Shang Nan."
"Thank you so much, my benefactor. If it weren't for you, my brother and I might be dead." Shang Nan said, tears welling up in his eyes, but he held them back.
Shang Bei patted her head: "It's alright. May I ask your name?"
“Chen Pan Yang.” Pan Yang said, looking at the empty street and sighing. City A is so far away, I don’t want to walk.
Shang Nan wiped away his tears: "Chen Panyang's name is so nice."
Shang Bei tapped Shang Nan's head helplessly: "My benefactor, where are you planning to go next? Nan Nan and I initially wanted to go to City A."
"I heard that a protective base has been built in City A, so we should be able to take refuge there." Shang Nan covered his head and hid on the other side.
Upon hearing this, Pan Yang's eyes lit up as he looked at the two of them: "How are you going to get there? Tell me what you want to hear!"
"We had just picked up the keys and were about to drive when we got surrounded by zombies." Shang Bei scratched his head awkwardly. If it weren't for Huan Yang, he might really be dead here.
Yes! Pan Yang was secretly delighted; Heaven has eyes!
He cleared his throat: "I'm going to City A too."
"Great!" Shang Nan exclaimed, then quickly covered his mouth and looked around to make sure no zombies were coming. "Let's go together. It's good that my brother is driving us."
Shang Bei nodded: "Let's go together. You saved us, and we can never repay this debt of gratitude."
Pan Yang gave him an approving look, "Young man, I have high hopes for you."
So, Pan Yang got a ride, but it was quite far from City A, and many roads were blocked due to the zombies, so it would take five or six days to get to City A.
Pan Yang sat in the back of the car, Shang Bei was driving, and Shang Nan sat in the passenger seat.
Everything is safe at the moment, and there are only a few zombies strolling slowly along the roadside.
The car stopped next to the gas station, and Shang Bei got out to check: "I'll fill up some gas first, and take a few cans with me just in case. Shang Nan, don't get out of the car, stay put."
Shang Nan pouted, somewhat dissatisfied: "Okay, okay."
Pan Yang leaned back in his chair and dozed off. Since the zombie virus outbreak, the days had become longer and the weather had become drier, so he tried to rest whenever he could to conserve his energy.
Shang Bei quickly filled the fuel tank and took three barrels of oil with him. Just as he got into the car and was about to start it, he heard a series of zombie roars coming from behind.
The car sped off, and the zombies followed for a while before falling behind. Shang Nan patted his chest and said, "That scared me to death."
"It seems we should head to City A soon," Shang Bei said, frowning.
Humans without superpowers can hardly survive now, and all they can do now is rely on Pan Yang to quickly go to City A to hide.
Fortunately, they encountered the army, which happened to be taking the survivors to City A. For safety's sake, they simply followed the army.
At least the army has guns, while they themselves have nothing but vehicles. Although Pan Yang is good at fighting, we can't keep letting Pan Yang handle things like this.
The army is naturally happy to have people following them, as their duty is to protect more people and keep them alive. It's just a pity that sometimes, in a big forest, you'll find all sorts of birds.
During the break, a middle-aged woman who looked to be around fifty years old walked up to Shang Bei's car with a smile on her face. She glanced at Pan Yang in the back seat, who seemed unapproachable, and then spoke to Shang Nan.
"Young lady, the military vehicles are too crowded. I'm too old to handle the jostling. Could I ride in your vehicle?"
Shang Nan felt a little embarrassed. Her brother was exchanging water with the soldiers, and only she and Pan Yang were in the car.
"I'm sorry, my brother isn't here, so I can't keep you here on my own. You can ask my benefactor; I can't make the decision." As she spoke, she pointed to Pan Yang, who was squinting behind her.
