Chapter 251 The Highest Glory 3

Yaqi watched Zhou Yang leave and inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief. This was really bad. He quickly walked to Pan Yang's side and said, "You're really bold. Do you really like Major General Zhou?"

Pan Yang nodded: "I'm not a scumbag."

"Young Master Fang, are you trying to wipe out your family line? Putting all that aside, Zhou Yang is a major general, and so many omegas like him. Do you think he'll like you?" Yaqi earnestly advised.

"Why not?"

"..." Okay, there's no way to talk about this. Whatever, whatever. Young Master Fang is probably just interested in the novelty anyway.

Pan Yang didn't see Zhou Yang during the afternoon training session, and eventually returned to his dormitory somewhat dejectedly. As soon as he arrived at the dormitory entrance, he saw Xia Zhi standing there.

Xia Zhi's face lit up when he saw Pan Yang: "Are you alright? I heard you were a major general today..."

"Is there something you need?"

"I was just worried about you, so I came to check on you." Xia Zhi could naturally hear the impatience in Huan Yang's voice. He took a deep breath and said, "Aren't we friends? You seem to be getting more and more distant from me."

"A friend who wants to kill me?" Pan Yang spoke slowly and calmly, but it startled Xia Zhi.

"Ha, what are you saying? I don't understand."

"Xia Zhi, I have the ability to make you die a gruesome death, and no one will be able to find out who I am."

Looking into Huan Yang's dark eyes, Xia Zhi almost instinctively took a step back. With Huan Yang's abilities, he could indeed do it. If Huan Yang really killed her, the worst consequence would probably be that she would have to leave the army and go home.

"roll."

Xia Zhi gritted her teeth: "Fine, Pan Yang, you'll regret this." Then she turned and left.

Watching his retreating figure, Pan Yang kicked the door in frustration. It was bad enough that he couldn't see Zhou Yang, but this guy had to come out and make his presence known.

Zhou Yang looked at himself in the mirror, took a deep breath, washed his face again, returned to his dormitory, sat on his bed in a daze, but the image of Pan Yang kept appearing in his mind.

This is terrible, absolutely terrible! He looked at the bracelet on his wrist, which seemed to still carry that person's aura. He was truly going crazy.

In the following days, the way the two interacted felt strange, especially Zhou Yang, who felt uncomfortable all over, particularly with the way Huan Yang looked at him, as if he could see right through him.

However, headquarters soon sent a mission: a region not far away had been invaded by the Zerg, and their mission was to wipe out the invading Zerg in that region.

The area is very large, so they explore in pairs and communicate using communicators when there is danger. Pan Yang and Zhou Yang happen to be in a team.

This news concerns earthworms, which primarily live underground and then suddenly leap out of the soil to attack humans. Because they live underground, they have virtually no eyesight, but their hearing is excellent.

The two killed some insects and eventually rested for a while by the stream.

Zhou Yang took out his water bottle, opened it, took a few sips of water, and looked at Pan Yang. Pan Yang was squatting by the stream, looking at the water. As if he had noticed Zhou Yang's gaze, he looked up at Zhou Yang.

"What's wrong?"

Zhou Yang shook the water bottle in his hand, unaware of how nervous he was: "Aren't you thirsty?"

"Thanks." Pan Yang said, standing up from the ground, walking to his side, taking the water bottle, drinking a few mouthfuls directly from it, screwing the cap back on and handing it back to him.

Zhou Yang took the kettle and put it back.

Seeing that he had no intention of speaking, Fan Yang sighed. He wasn't unaware of the man's discomfort: "Zhou Yang."

"Shh." Zhou Yang suddenly made a shushing gesture. Seeing this, Pan Yang didn't continue. He could hear some noise not far away, which seemed to be insectoids and there were quite a few of them.

Then they saw swarms of Zerg swarming towards them from not far away.

Zhou Yang was shocked. How could there be so many? This was different from the information from headquarters. He gripped the gun at his waist. He knew that confronting them head-on was definitely not going to work.

The two then exchanged a glance and, with perfect understanding, chose to retreat. Pan Yang crossed the stream directly, and in just a second, he saw an insect suddenly leap out of the water.

The insect had a thorn on its head, and Pan Yang was almost pierced through the calf. Zhou Yang quickly shot and killed one of the insects, but to their surprise, more than a dozen of them suddenly jumped out of the stream.

The two fired several shots, then turned and ran away without hesitation; they couldn't linger.

The Zerg army followed closely behind the two. In just a moment, Pan Yang suddenly pounced on the boat, and a wasp-like insect grazed their heads and pierced into a nearby tree stump.

Without hesitation, Zhou Yang shot and killed the insect. Then he felt a pain in his calf. He pulled out his dagger and stabbed off the insect that had bitten his leg. After that, he felt his entire left leg go numb and lose all feeling.

The Zerg army was about to catch up, and Zhou Yang took a deep breath and looked at Pan Yang: "You run first, I can't go much further now." Someone deliberately withheld information this time; it seems someone really wants them to die here.

Without saying a word, Pan Yang picked up Zhou Yang and ran to the other side without hesitation. Then, Pan Yang spotted a high open space and ran there without hesitation.

There was nowhere to hide, and they were likely to die here.

Pan Yang took a deep breath and put the boat down.

Zhou Yang gritted his teeth: "The communicator is broken, we can't contact headquarters. You should run first. There's a serious error in this message." Four types of insects have appeared here, and they don't even know if there are any other insectoids.

Pan Yang quickly drew his gun and fired several shots, killing the flying insects. Fortunately, there weren't many insects in the air: "If you're here, where am I supposed to run?"

Looking at the swarming insects in the distance, Pan Yang asked calmly, "Do you believe me?"

Zhou Yang was momentarily stunned. Looking at the man's profile, he exhaled and said, "I believe you."

Then the insect pounced on them, but was killed by Pan Yang with a single shot.

Zhou Yang also took out his gun and hit the target almost every time. Unfortunately, the insects seemed endless and kept swarming towards them. Soon, both of them ran out of bullets.

Zhou Yang gripped the dagger; he was currently immobile and his skills were certainly lacking.

Pan Yang simply summoned Xiaoyao, twirled his sword, and swung it down without hesitation, instantly cleaving the insect in two. Zhou Yang felt some sensation return to his leg, but any movement caused excruciating pain. He endured the pain and stood up.

Zhou Yang: "Are you ready?"

The two people looked at the insect without any fear on their faces; instead, they seemed to be secretly excited.

In the blink of an eye, the two attacked simultaneously, and the corpses of insects around them piled up to form a hillside. The two men stood in the center of the corpses, looking like gods of war.
