The room was too quiet, and everyone could hear what the two people were saying clearly. This time, there was no room for negotiation.
Linghu Lan was somewhat surprised, a hint of amusement flashing in her eyes. Fang Mei was actually Zhe Motang's uncle, so wouldn't she be Fang Mei's aunt? Thinking of this, she laughed even louder.
Fang Mei had a bad feeling when she saw that Linghu Lan actually knew her uncle. Her uncle couldn't possibly be here to see her. The only two people present who knew him were herself and Linghu Lan. So, her uncle was here to see Linghu Lan? What exactly was their relationship?
This deduction immediately made Fang Mei unhappy, and she felt extremely embarrassed. She hated her own bluntness. When she saw her uncle earlier, she shouldn't have spoken. Hiding in the crowd and pretending not to know him would have been the best choice.
Mo Tang glanced at Linghu Lan, then looked at Fang Mei. His dark eyes were devoid of emotion. He nodded slightly and walked towards Linghu Lan, silently watching him and waiting for Linghu Lan to introduce him to everyone.
Linghu Lan smiled and explained to the students around her, "This is my boyfriend."
Everyone gasped in shock. They hadn't misheard; Fang Mei called this man "uncle," which meant that Linghu Lan would be Fang Mei's future aunt.
The scene was so hilarious that Zeng Hui was doubled over with laughter in her seat, unable to stop.
Fang Mei's face was flushed and pale. She almost fainted. She just couldn't understand it. She had heard that her uncle had been in a coma for many years and almost became a vegetable. She had never heard of him waking up. How could he suddenly have a girlfriend? Even if he did have a girlfriend, she was her classmate.
Sometimes he felt as if he had been given a huge hat that he couldn't take off.
He stood up incredulously and said to Linghu Lan, "Linghu Lan, don't talk nonsense. Even if my uncle were to find a girlfriend, he would never choose someone like you."
After saying that, she asked Mo Tang, "Uncle, when did you wake up?"
Mo Tang coldly scrutinized Fang Mei, feeling displeased by the disrespect and contempt she showed towards Linghu Lan in her words.
He said coldly, "This is my fiancée. Come here and call her aunt."
fiancée?
Going a step further than a girlfriend.
Fang Mei felt dizzy; this whole thing was too surreal. He rubbed his temples hard and muttered, "Holy crap!"
She kept her lips tightly shut, not uttering a word, as if opening her mouth would mean losing all her dignity. He glared fiercely at Linghu Lan, then looked at everyone in the room, feeling a sense of humiliation as if he were being laughed at by everyone.
He glanced coldly at everyone, then picked up his bag and walked towards the door. "If you want her to be your girlfriend, then let her be your girlfriend. But don't make me call her 'aunt.' I don't have an aunt like that."
"Then you don't have to call me uncle anymore!" Mo Tang said coldly.
Fang Mei's heart skipped a beat. He tried to calm himself down, but it was no use. He was in a state of panic. He had always had a good impression of his uncle. He used to see him often. He was handsome, tall, and rich. He had basically been looking for a spouse based on his uncle's image, which was why he had wasted so many years without finding a suitable marriage partner. He never expected that his uncle, who had finally woken up, would argue with him over the woman in front of him.
He hardened his heart, swung his bag, and said, "I am your own niece."
"She is my wife!" Mo Tang said solemnly.
Linghu Lan almost laughed. He found that Mo Tang was also quite skilled at annoying people. He sat quietly on the sofa, watching Mo Tang and Fang Mei bicker. This was their family matter, and he didn't want to get involved for the time being.
Fang Mei finally realized that in her uncle's eyes, he had no status whatsoever and was no match for Linghu Lan. He was probably willing to give up his niece for Linghu Lan's sake.
He didn't want to argue with his uncle anymore; it was too boring for family members to quarrel and for others to laugh at.
He pointed his finger at Linghu Lan and said, "Linghu Lan, you just wait!"
"I won't wait. Just say what you have to say. You're not worth making me wait." Linghu Lan said calmly, looking at Fang Mei with cold eyes. She felt a little uneasy about the marriage between Fang Mei and Mo Tang. She had considered all sorts of possibilities. Perhaps she would be opposed by her parents, or attacked by relatives and friends. But she didn't expect that before she even faced these things, the one opposing her marriage would be her classmate, Mo Tang's niece.
The niece has the least say in the couple's marriage, yet Fang Mei's relentless and persistent pursuit only makes Linghu Lan find it more amusing.
Fang Mei blushed. This was originally a harsh remark, like in martial arts novels where two people fight and always end with "The green hills remain, the green waters flow forever, until we meet again!"
This was just a very ordinary statement, meant to show how fierce he was, but Linghu Lan knowingly asked the question and pressed him relentlessly, which was truly shameless.
Fang Mei was truly furious. "Are you after our family's money? Did my uncle buy all these clothes for you? No wonder, how could a poor wretch like you afford these luxury items? If you're so capable, don't spend our family's money. You're using my uncle's money to show off. You really have a big face."
Fang Mei's words were harsh and offensive, coming out like a machine gun.
Mo Tang's expression changed, and he slapped Fang Mei across the face. "Apologize!"
Fang Mei covered her face, staring at Mo Tang in disbelief. She couldn't believe her uncle would hit her. She opened her mouth, tears streaming down her face. "You actually hit me?"
"Apologize!" Mo Tang said firmly, her tone leaving no room for argument.
Linghu Lan watched all this with a cold eye, without offering any resistance. He was not a saint, and having experienced so many worlds, he no longer wanted to do anything. But having finally earned this opportunity, he only wanted to live freely and happily in this world. He would not offend others unless they offended him, and if they did, he would repay them tenfold.
Fang Mei was a girl spoiled by her parents. The fact that he was able to find her in such an environment shows that he was very lucky and happy.
He hadn't experienced much hardship in life, so he didn't respect others much, which fostered his arrogant and domineering personality. But others weren't his parents, they had no obligation or responsibility to spoil him, and even if Mo Tang didn't discipline him today, he would discipline him himself.
He traveled through time for so many years, not to return to the present and be mocked by Fang Mei.
"I won't apologize!" Fang Mei let the water flow, her eyes filled with heartbreak as she looked at her uncle.
She used to like this man, thinking he was the best man in the world, and even used him as a template to choose her future husband. But now this man has slapped her in the face. Even his parents never slapped him. Why? Why should he be slapped for being a second-hand person?
Everyone in the world knows that Linghu Lan and Xia Mingyuan were in a relationship, but who knows how many despicable things they did together? How could such a woman be worthy of her uncle? She had worked so hard to protect him, and he actually slapped her.
Mo Tang said indifferently, "He saved my life. Without him, I wouldn't exist. Even if I gave him all my wealth, it would be worth it. Since you don't want to be his aunt, you don't need to call me uncle anymore. We have no relation. Also, inform your mother that I have been in a coma for years. I am grateful to them for managing the company. Now that I am back, I hope to be able to do things myself."
Fang Mei was startled and looked at Mo Tang in disbelief. Even if he was a business idiot, he would understand at this moment that his uncle intended to take back control of the company.
Over the years, because his uncle was in a coma, his company was managed by his father and mother. The profits were enormous, something he never dared to dream of, and now they wanted to take it all back.
He was truly panicked at this point. If his mother knew that he wanted to take back the company because of his uncle, she would probably tear him apart.
His face flushed red, and he was so frightened that he almost held back his tears. His mind was in turmoil as he considered whether he should just pretend to apologize to Linghu Lai. If he could get away with it today, even if his uncle really wanted to take back control of the company, it wouldn't matter to him, so that he wouldn't be unable to get money from his mother in the future.
He opened his mouth, about to speak, when Mo Tang frowned and said, "No need to apologize, it's too late. Go back and tell your mother that I will definitely visit her in a few days."
Fang Mei completely broke down; all her self-esteem crumbled at once. She grabbed her bag, opened the door, and quickly left. Today's class reunion was a huge embarrassment; she wished she had never been there.
Linghu Lan glanced at her stunned classmate, sighed silently, and whispered to Mo Tang, "Let's go!"
Mo Tang glanced at him and said to everyone, "I'm very sorry to have disturbed you all."
His aura was so powerful that everyone quickly waved their hands and said, "No, no!"
Linghu Lan looked at the group of people and felt very bored. She stood up, took Mo Tang's hand, and the two of them calmly walked out of the room.
The moment the two left, the room remained bustling with activity. It wasn't until a few minutes later that someone accidentally knocked over a mahjong tile, causing a clattering sound that brought the room back to its usual noise.
"What just happened? I'm so confused!"
"Did you guys see that? That man just walked away and started beating up Fang Mei!"
"If it were me, I would have hit him too. It's outrageous that he didn't say anything. He's such a grown man, doesn't he know what he can and can't say?"
"Exactly! He even called Linghu Lan a penniless pauper. I'm a penniless pauper too. Has he never respected us at all?"
"It's not necessarily true that Fang Mei is the richest among our group. I remember there was someone in our class whose family was richer than Fang Mei's, but that person was always polite to classmates and never arrogant. It's probably Fang Mei's own upbringing that's the problem."
"I really can't believe that man is related to Fang Mei. I feel that man's aura is too strong. The moment he walked in, I felt like I was being suppressed."
"That man said Linghu Lan saved her life. When did she save her? If a man says that, I'll save him too! Do you think that man offered himself to Linghu Lan in return?"
The crowd was buzzing with discussion. Because of this incident, no one had any interest in continuing the class reunion. After exchanging a few more words, they also lost interest and dispersed.
When they went down to the lobby to pay their bill, they found that someone had already paid for them.
"Who paid our bill? Was it a man or a woman?" the classmate who organized the party asked.
The receptionist said very politely, "It's a Mr. Mo Tang. He said he's sorry to have troubled you today and hopes you have a pleasant class reunion."
Ink Tang!
The group exchanged bewildered glances, unsure of what to say. They realized they might have encountered a true tycoon today.
Linghu Lan and Mo Tang walked downstairs, chatting as they went in the cold wind: "Why are you here?"
Mo Tang's eyes flickered slightly as she moved closer to Linghu Lan and said, "I came here because I missed you. Have you missed me these past few days?"
"I've thought about it! I didn't tell you how you found me. I was here participating in an event."
"System!" Mo Tang smiled, but his heart was still heavy. He never expected that something like this would happen today.
His original intention was that he hoped his future with Linghu Lan would never be troubled again, and that the two of them would always have a smooth and peaceful life.
I never expected to encounter something like this as soon as I arrived today.
Linghu Lan smiled, understanding dawning on him. He hadn't uninstalled the system yet, and he didn't know when he could, or if he would have to live with it for the rest of his life. If that were the case, it felt somewhat terrifying, and he didn't want to be controlled by the system anymore.
"Are you fully recovered? Can the doctor discharge you from the hospital?"
Mo Tang stopped, took Linghu Lan's hand and placed it on his chest, saying, "You've even developed pectoral muscles."
Linghu Lan touched his warm chest, feeling his heart pounding fiercely; it seemed what had just happened had left Mo Tang unsettled. He whispered, "What happened just now..."
"It's none of your business!" Mo Tang's eyes darkened slightly. "Mei Mei, I know what kind of person she is. She's been spoiled since she was a child, pampered beyond belief by her family. She's already quite old, not a child anymore. Others can tolerate her, but she needs to take responsibility for her actions and words now."
Linghu Lan nodded: "If you hadn't dealt with him just now, I would have. Don't you think I'm too vicious?"
