The old servant tidied the room while chattering away to Linghu Lan.
Linghu Lan changed into some dry clothes and finally felt more comfortable. She thought for a moment and asked, "Could they really be the king, queen, and prince?"
I guess so!
"Um?"
“Oh, their grandfather’s grandfather was the king of the city in front. The king had two sons, and he divided the kingdom in two and gave it to his two sons. After the old king died, one of the sons attacked the other son and occupied most of the territory of the other son’s country. However, he still respected the decision of the deceased old king. His brother was still the king, but the territory was only his own castle and the castle’s back garden. The king and queen I serve are the descendants of the brother whose territory was occupied.”
Linghu Lan: "..."
They really are the King and Queen; I have to admit, that's a convincing reason!
The old servant tidied up the room and dried Linghu Lan's hair. Her attentive and considerate service made it easy for people to relax.
Even when she was busy, she didn't stop talking. She said, "The prince is quite old now. He only wants to marry a princess. However, there are too many fake princesses in this world. He has never been able to find a real princess. But then again, how could a real princess be willing to marry a prince whose kingdom is only the size of a castle? Sigh! I keep praying for him, hoping that a real princess will become his wife. I really wish that wish would come true soon."
To find a real princess to marry?
A flash of insight struck Linghu Lan, and she suddenly understood.
After the old servant finished serving Linghu Lan, the Queen brought up a plate of snacks.
“You’ve been walking in the storm for a long time, I think you need to eat something to replenish your energy.”
"Thank you so much, I'm actually quite hungry!"
The snacks arrived just in time; Linghu Lan was already starving and immediately began to eat.
The Queen frowned as she watched her eat. "I can hardly believe you're a princess. But I'll give you a chance. Let's talk about it tomorrow morning!"
The Queen left with her servants. Linghu Lan closed the door, checked the surroundings, and seeing no hidden compartments or surveillance devices, she threw off the covers and silently began counting the mattresses.
One floor, two floors, three floors... a total of twelve floors.
She lifted the mat again and found a pea underneath!
Linghu Lan held the pea and couldn't help but chuckle!
She knew her transmigrated identity was extraordinary—she was actually the Princess and the Pea!
In the fairy tale, the Princess and the Pea, though a princess, is one whose origins and background are not explained. She simply bursts into a castle, takes a nap, and marries a prince, which is exactly the same as her current identity and background!
Having no origin, no memory, on a stormy night, I stumbled into a castle and found a pea under the mattress.
No wonder this body feels familiar with the castle. Regardless of where this feeling of familiarity comes from, it means that this body and the castle are related.
Having figured this out, Linghu Lan put the pea back where it was. She wasn't the real Princess and the Pea; the pea under the twelve-layered cushion had no effect on her at all.
She's going to cover herself with a blanket and go to sleep now!
Linghu Lan quickly fell asleep!
