Chapter 890 Dark Fairy Tale 18

The king's wise eyes swept over Linghu Lan again, and Linghu Lan felt that strange sense of familiarity well up in her heart once more.

“Yes, Your Majesty!” Linghu Lan replied gladly.

The queen breathed a sigh of relief. For a fleeting moment, she was terrified that the king would kill the witch before her; in her mind, the witch could not die.

She was quite puzzled by the strange emotions that had suddenly arisen within her.

She thought for a moment, then stood up and said to Linghu Lan, "Although you have slandered me, I will still treat you as your host. Please come with me, witch!"

The king expressed his deep approval of the queen's poise and grace, and nodded in satisfaction.

Linghu Lan bowed and followed the Queen into the palace.

On the road.

Linghu Lan looked around at the exquisitely decorated palace and said with a smile, "Your Majesty, I've heard that you have a magic mirror that will tell you that you are the most beautiful woman in the world."

The Queen suddenly stopped in her tracks. Linghu Lan's words made her very uncomfortable, and she was on the verge of exploding with rage.

"But where did you hear this from? The palace is not a place for an ignorant fool like you. Death awaits you here."

“Or perhaps a new student!” Linghu Lan replied with a smile.

The queen smiled contemptuously. "You will not live to see the dawn, much less a new life. When the kings find the seven dwarfs tomorrow, your death will be imminent."

"It seems you don't want me to die!"

Linghu Lan did not miss the Queen's unnaturalness just now. She clearly wanted to say something harsh. Although she stopped herself at the last moment, her expression had already betrayed her.

The queen was somewhat furious. "Listen, no matter where you come from, I suspect you are a spy, a complete and utter spy. You won't get anything from me; you'd better worry about your own life!"

Linghu Lan smiled but didn't say anything.

The queen glanced at the spot where they had stopped and said coldly, "You will stay here tonight!"

Linghu Lan looked at the palace and said with a smile, "Thank you!"

She entered the house, quietly closed the door, and whispered to the queen outside, "Perhaps you should also worry about your own life. What if the boots of fire really do exist?"

The queen was dumbfounded. For a moment, she wanted to use magic to make Linghu Lan disappear completely, but once she had such a thought, the fear in her heart almost suffocated her.

She immediately connected her own strange behavior to Linghu Lan.

"Listen, what kind of magic did you cast on me that I don't even want to kill you! No one has ever been able to touch me before, what exactly did you do to me?"

Linghu Lan felt a stirring in her heart; she had the same feeling. However, she was certain that this was the first time she had ever seen the Queen.

She revealed a wicked smile: "Perhaps I am the spirit of a girl you once killed."

The queen's face immediately turned terrified.

Linghu Lan smiled with satisfaction and closed the door.

The queen stood in front of Linghu Lan's room for a while before turning around and walking into her own palace, somewhat exasperated, and took out the magic mirror.

In fact, the Queen didn't just ask the magic mirror questions like "Who is the fairest of them all?" She would confide all her questions to the magic mirror, and the magic mirror would always give her the answer!

Tonight, the Queen asked, "What is my relationship with that new witch? Why do I feel such terror at the thought of her dying?"
