"Kirk".
Sharon's surprised voice confirmed Han Lingxi's suspicions about the young man in front of her: the most talented member of the vampire hunter family in this generation, and the designated future patriarch.
"Ah, Young Chief Kirk has done a great service by encountering two vampires like us who are completely helpless."
Han Lingxi looked at the person who walked up to her with a half-smile, as if to say, "You played the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind you quite well."
"I've come to lead our people away."
Kirk rarely spoke up to explain, and Han Lingxi chuckled inwardly, realizing that her guess was indeed correct; this young clan leader was indeed very aloof.
"Kirk, that's your name, right? There are no one of yours here."
"Kirk, kill her."
Sharon clutched the dagger in her chest and said excitedly to Kirk.
"Shut up."
Kirk's attitude towards Sharon was far from good; in fact, he was somewhat annoyed. He believed that since Sharon was already a vampire, even if he didn't harm her because of their kinship, she was still someone who was not of his kind and therefore had ulterior motives. He shouldn't let her get involved in the family's affairs. However, the elders in the family thought this was a good opportunity to suppress the vampires. With someone acting as an inside agent in the vampire family, their chances of winning would be much greater.
Kirk was ordered by the clan chief to bring Sharon back, and he happened to witness the battle between the two. Now, looking at Sharon like this, he suddenly had the thought of letting her die here. She was a vampire, yet she could unhesitatingly side with the vampire hunters just to eliminate dissidents. Only the people in the Elder Council would be foolish enough to believe that it was out of affection for the hunter family. Once such a person achieves her goal or has greater benefits, there's no guarantee that she won't betray the hunter family as well.
"Who are you?"
Kirk looked at Han Lingxi, whose face was pale, and asked.
"Me? I'm just a nobody."
Han Lingxi said casually.
“Don’t believe her. She is a duke of the Vantor family. Kirk, kill her now. If you can kill her, the Elder Council will never question your ability to become the patriarch again.”
Sharon was anxious. She had taken a great risk to get Han Lingxi out of the manor. If Han Lingxi died, Roy would not let her off the hook if things were exposed.
"Didn't you understand when I said shut up?"
Kirk said coldly, and Sharon trembled in fright, falling silent and daring not to speak again.
“Duke Vantor, I have no interest in using a severely injured vampire to prove my strength, but I can’t just let you go like this either. How about we make a deal?”
Kirk asked Han Lingxi a question, but his tone didn't imply a question; he was certain that Han Lingxi wouldn't refuse.
In the original owner's memories, Kirk was a very arrogant person. Although he was the young clan leader, many people in the elders' council did not support him. He always wanted to prove his ability, but he disdained those weak vampires. He always took Roy as his target and wanted to kill Roy to prove that he was the most powerful vampire hunter. In his previous life, he did succeed and died together with Roy. However, Roy was a powerful vampire hunter who had killed almost all the other vampire hunters before he fell.
"What kind of deal does Young Chief Kirk want with me?"
Han Lingxi tilted her head and asked curiously.
"I can let you leave."
Sharon's eyes widened when she heard Kirk's words. She wanted to say something, but when she met Kirk's gaze, she lowered her head unwillingly.
