"Sharon, is all you can do is hide?"
Han Lingxi walked discreetly into an empty alley and spoke mockingly to the person behind her. There was no response from behind, as if Han Lingxi was just overthinking and talking to herself.
"Ah, I almost forgot, servants of the Embrace cannot appear in the sunlight."
Han Lingxi firmly believed in her judgment, so she continued to speak. After Han Lingxi's voice faded away, Sharon's figure slowly appeared in the shadows behind her.
"You're too arrogant. Don't you think your life and death are in my hands? If you kneel down and beg for mercy, maybe I'll let you go."
Sharon's words were full of sarcasm. Both of them knew perfectly well that given Lingxi's pride, she would never beg for mercy. Sharon just wanted to express her disdain for Han Lingxi's overestimation of her abilities.
"Kneel down and beg for mercy? You overestimate yourself. Do you even deserve it?"
Han Lingxi spoke with extreme arrogance, but surprisingly, she didn't come across as repulsive. It just felt like she was naturally like that. Han Lingxi's demeanor was as if she didn't realize that she was the weaker party and could die at Sharon's hands at any moment.
"It seems you won't shed tears until you see the coffin. Then use your life to atone for your sins to the Third Elder."
Sharon rushed over as soon as she finished speaking. Vampires are extremely fast, and even in the daytime her power was greatly reduced, so Han Lingxi could only barely see a shadow of her.
By the time Han Lingxi could see Sharon's face clearly, Sharon's hand was already on her own neck. However, Sharon made no further move. She was somewhat incredulous to see a silver dagger stuck in her heart. She recognized the dagger; it belonged to the Third Elder.
Han Lingxi took a step back, leaving Sharon's attack range, and stood aside, coldly watching Sharon.
"Since you have such a good relationship with that Third Elder, it's like returning it to its rightful owner now."
Han Lingxi turned and walked towards the alley entrance. After a few steps, she seemed to remember something and stopped to speak.
"You seem to have forgotten that I am a vampire. I won't shed tears when I see a coffin; I'll just want to sleep."
A vampire's heart isn't a vital organ, so Sharon won't die, but her strength will drop to a terrifying level, and she'll probably go from count to viscount. Han Lingxi knew this trip wouldn't be smooth, so she brought out the dagger Roy had taken from her. After all, she still had the skill of hitting her target every time, which was very useful for saving her life in critical moments.
In reality, Han Lingxi was just gambling, betting that Sharon didn't really care that much about her family members from the vampire hunter family. Her so-called concern was just an excuse for her to kill Han Lingxi. In fact, what she cared about more was the position of the Queen of the Setis family.
Han Lingxi is indeed weak now. If Sharon really wanted to avenge the Third Elder, she could easily take Han Lingxi down with her even if she was strangled by the dagger. But she didn't dare to do that. She could only stay still and wait for night to fall and for her power to reach its peak before she could pull out the dagger, or wait for other vampires to come and save her.
Han Lingxi is unable to kill Sharon directly right now, otherwise she would definitely do so without hesitation.
Just when Han Lingxi thought the crisis was over, a figure appeared at the alley entrance, and Han Lingxi instantly had a bad feeling.
