Jiang Fei looked at Yun Jue, her eyebrows slightly raised, and when she saw his eyes clearly, she showed a rare hint of surprise.
Yun Jue now shows no trace of immortality; even his white robes are shrouded in black clouds. He is completely controlled by his inner demons, with deep, dark eyes and sparse whites, clearly showing signs of demonic possession.
"Jiang Fei." Meeting her gaze, he called out to her in a hoarse voice.
Jiang Fei remained seated beside the bed, simply looking at him with her lips pursed and saying nothing.
Yun Jue slowly flew towards her, the clouds around him churning more and more violently, dark clouds covering the palace: "You said that you preferred the unrestrained demon to the heartless and desireless immortal."
He landed on the ground and slowly walked towards her, saying as he went, "You like it this way, don't you?"
He refined the immortal energy within him, allowing his unbridled inner demons to run rampant within his body, eventually completely taking over the form.
As he approached, Jiang Fei slightly raised her head, her gaze clearly flickering.
Seeing her reaction, Yun Jue leaned closer to her, gently stroking her cheek as he held her small face in his palm: "Do you still like it?"
At this point, as if deliberately, he used the title Yun Wunian had used to call her before her death: "Little Jiang Fei..."
Jiang Fei's expression changed slightly.
In the next instant, Yun Jue's pale wrist was grasped by a warm hand. The back of that hand was covered with wounds of all sizes, which looked familiar—the wounds left from trespassing on the barrier.
Yun Jue's eyes were sinister as he turned to look at the man, meeting Rong Shu's hostile gaze: "Let go," he said expressionlessly.
Rong Shu stared intently at him, her breath trembling slightly from her injuries, yet she still said, "Absolutely not."
Before he could finish speaking, Yun Jue suddenly flicked his sleeve, and a crimson light full of malevolence swept towards Rong Shu. Rong Shu's already severely injured body collapsed to the ground, unable to withstand the attack.
But then he stood up again, walked step by step to Jiang Fei, and shielded her behind him.
Yun Jue's eyes blazed with even greater fury, and his wide sleeves, like a devastating hurricane, once again hurtled straight at Rong Shu.
Rong Shu's body flew out again and crashed heavily to the ground.
A sense of malevolence permeated the entire palace.
Rong Shu spat out a mouthful of blood, gave a low, sarcastic laugh, and struggled to her feet, walking towards Jiang Fei.
Jiang Fei looked up at him.
His blue robes were already stained dark with blood.
As if sensing her gaze, Rong Shu's mocking smile softened, and he comforted her in a low, husky voice, "Don't worry, you won't die."
There are still hundreds of years until the day Heaven has ordained for his death.
Jiang Fei continued to stare at him intently.
Seeing this, Yun Jue's killing intent intensified, and the crimson-black light swept towards Rong Shu more and more sharply. As he fell to the ground time and time again, even the whites of his eyes disappeared, leaving only a deep black.
But Rong Shu seemed oblivious to the pain, spitting out blood repeatedly before staggering to her feet and desperately walking toward Jiang Fei.
Inside the palace, the jade table had already been smashed to pieces, and his bones were broken all over his body, as if he had been pulled out of a pool of blood.
On her last slam, Rong Shu slammed her hand on the ground, sending up a spray of blood mist.
He struggled to get up, but collapsed to the ground in despair.
Yun Jue waved his sleeve again, about to attack him.
“Yun Jue…” A lifeless female voice came, barely noticeable within the palace.
But Yun Jue's hand suddenly stopped, and the darkness in his eyes gradually dissipated, revealing the whites of his eyes.
He stood there, stunned, hesitant to turn around.
This was the first time she called him "Yun Jue," no longer the grating "Immortal Venerable Yun Jue."
“Yun Jue…” Jiang Fei’s voice sounded extremely weak.
Yun Jue suddenly realized what was happening and turned his head sharply. Jiang Fei's face was deathly pale, and he had almost no life left.
He rushed forward in a panic.
Rong Shu struggled to call out to her, "Feifei..."
Before he could finish speaking, Yun Jue suddenly waved his sleeve, and the crimson light mist transformed into a barrier, trapping Rong Shu inside, unable to break free.
Then he quickly stepped forward, pulled Jiang Fei into his arms, and looked at her pale face. Life was flowing into her, but it was only a drop in the ocean; her life was slowly slipping away.
Yun Jue's hand trembled violently. In the next instant, he used his finger as a knife to forcefully cut a wound on his wrist and brought the blood close to her lips.
But Jiang Fei, who had "fainted," could no longer swallow anything.
Yun Jue paused for a moment, then slowly brought his lips to the wound on his wrist, sucked a mouthful of blood, and then kissed Jiang Fei's lips, slowly transferring the blood into his mouth.
Rong Shu frantically pounded on the barrier, but to no avail. He could only watch helplessly as Yun Jue kissed Jiang Fei until finally, he collapsed inside the barrier, his body covered in blood and gore, staring blankly at the crimson clouds above.
Yun Jue didn't know how much blood he had fed Jiang Fei. As her breathing gradually calmed down, his trembling hands finally calmed down, but his fingertips were colder than the body temperature of the woman in his arms.
His eyes were already bloodshot, and he held the woman in his arms tightly, as if only in this way could he suppress the fear in his heart.
Just then, spiritual energy surged outside the door, and the barrier outside the palace was bumped. Immediately afterwards, a cultivator's panicked and anxious voice came: "Immortal Venerable, the Demon Realm is gathering a large army at the foot of Wunian Mountain."
Yun Jue remained motionless, still holding the woman in his arms.
The immortal cultivator paused for a moment, then said, "The demon leader said that he came to pick up his wife and would return after picking her up."
This time, Yun Jue's hand holding Jiang Fei trembled. He lowered his eyes and gazed at her intently. After a long while, he gently placed her on the jade couch and leaned down to kiss the corner of her lips. "Wait for me to come back."
After that, no one in the Three Realms would bother them anymore.
There is no wife of Xin Qi here, only Jiang Fei.
Yun Jue stood up, and his vision suddenly went dark. He almost fainted, but he quickly regained his composure and flew out of the palace.
The immortal cultivators hurriedly stepped forward: "Many immortal cultivators have gathered, waiting only for you..." But they were taken aback when they saw the powerful demonic energy sweeping towards them: "Immortal Venerable?"
Yun Jue did not respond. His white robes transformed into cold silver armor, and his black cloak fluttered in the clouds. He leaped into the clouds and headed straight down Wunian Mountain.
The immortal cultivator stared blankly at his retreating figure. The immortal venerable one used to be pure and untouched by the dust of the mortal world, but now... he was controlled by his inner demons and covered in demonic miasma.
But he was soon overwhelmed by the overwhelming demonic energy at the foot of Wunian Mountain and hurriedly flew down the mountain.
Inside the palace.
As the sounds outside gradually fell silent, Jiang Fei was surprised that Xin Qi would actually come to Wunian Mountain.
After pondering for a moment, Jiang Fei slowly opened her eyes, quietly sat up, and walked calmly out of the palace.
"Feifei!" A hoarse voice called out to her.
Jiang Fei stopped and turned to look at the corner.
Rong Shu had already broken free from the barrier, his body covered in blood, not a single patch of undamaged skin visible. Yet, he still managed a terrifying smile: "Feifei, don't leave here..."
Jiang Fei paused for a moment, then slowly walked towards him.
When Jiang Fei reached Rong Shu, he squatted down and tucked the stray hairs that had fallen across his face to the side, his fingertips touching a patch of warm blood.
Rong Shu's eyes lit up: "Feifei, shall we go back to Qianjin Tower..."
“Young Master Rong,” Jiang Fei interrupted him, “shouldn’t you be carrying a water mirror?”
Rong Shu was taken aback.
Jiang Fei said, "I'd like to see."
Rong Shu gazed at her for a long time, then pulled a small silver object from her waist. A flash of blue light appeared, and it transformed into a water mirror.
Jiang Fei took the water mirror, looked at her reflection, smiled faintly, and then looked at Rong Shu: "Young Master Rong probably doesn't know what I've been through, does he?"
Rong Shu forced a smile: "I know, Fei Fei..."
"Is that so?" Jiang Fei asked back, tapping the mirror and watching the surface ripple with gentle waves. She then placed the water mirror in front of Rong Shu.
Rong Shu looked at the mirror, and then her eyes widened in shock.
On her wedding night with Xin Qi, the woman in the mirror was pierced through the heart by an arrow.
In the human realm, at the wedding banquet with Yun Wunian, she watched helplessly as Yun Jue abandoned her for Tang Feiyan.
He brought her back to Qianjin Tower, but then personally sold her to Tang Feiyan, who had failed her tribulation, to be used as a vessel.
She lay on the high platform, her bones and muscles torn apart, her soul stolen, her flesh and bones broken and then pieced back together again, yet she could only wail helplessly, screaming in agony, until finally her voice was filled with blood, and her face was unrecognizable.
The soul leaves the body and vanishes like smoke.
Rong Shu looked at the woman curled up on the high platform, covered in blood, in the water mirror, her fingers trembling uncontrollably.
It's like... something that really happened in a past life.
Jiang Fei put the water mirror aside and looked down at Rong Shu: "This is what I have experienced."
As she spoke, she began to get up.
Her wide sleeves were suddenly gripped tightly, Rong Shu's fingers leaving a bloody mark on her cuff: "I'm sorry..."
He murmured, "I'm sorry, but... don't go... please don't go?"
Jiang Fei glanced down at him, said nothing, and slowly pulled her sleeve away before turning and walking out of the palace.
“Feifei…” Rong Shu was still on the ground, murmuring in pain.
Jiang Fei never looked back.
A somber atmosphere pervaded Mount Wunian.
Demons dressed in black robes and shrouded in black mist gathered at the foot of the mountain, their presence overwhelming.
Cultivators dressed in white, wielding long swords, bravely faced their enemies, their spiritual energy soaring into the sky.
The two sides faced each other, and the clouds and mist above Wunian Mountain surged and churned, creating a tense atmosphere.
Avoiding everyone's attention, Jiang Fei slowly flew up into the sky above the palace, his gaze falling on the two leaders.
Yun Jue wore a cold silver armor, and his jet-black cloak fluttered in the fierce wind. There was no trace of immortality left in his expression.
Xin Qi was still wearing a fiery red robe, his face as pale as a ghost, his sharp black fingernails casually playing with the demonic energy in his hands.
It was a collision of spiritual and demonic energy, stirring up towering clouds and mist.
Jiang Fei withdrew his gaze, a mocking smile playing on his lips.
Once, the original owner's soul was floating above Wunian Mountain, right where he was standing, watching helplessly as the disciples of Wunian Mountain protected him below, watching Yun Jue and Xin Qi guard Tang Feiyan's spirit body after her failed tribulation, and watching his own body become Tang Feiyan's vessel...
Now, it's still the same people, but the reason for their confrontation has become themselves.
That's really... interesting.
