Wunian Mountain.
Xin Qihongyi was shaken by the demonic energy, her body surging with demonic power. Her pale face resembled that of a vengeful ghost. She stood silently in mid-air, looked at Xiang Yunjue, saw his turbid and sharp eyes and the crimson in them, and smiled mockingly: "I said I came to pick up my wife."
Yun Jue met his gaze expressionlessly, her white robes fluttering: "Your wife is not here."
Xin Qi laughed even more gleefully. He casually glanced at the many immortal cultivators behind Yun Jue, but suddenly a ball of fire rose in his palm: "You know who I'm talking about."
Yun Jue stared intently at him, remaining silent.
Xin Qi narrowed his eyes: "Give her back to me, and today's battle can be avoided."
Yun Jue's eyes grew even redder, his expression unwavering: "I've said it before, your wife is not here."
Xin Qi half-closed his eyes, and the fire in his hand, filled with demonic energy, suddenly attacked the mountain not far away. Instantly, the mountain was engulfed in flames, and the white birds all flew away.
Xin Qi laughed out loud: "The compassionate Immortal Venerable probably couldn't bear to see his Wunian Mountain turn into a purgatory, nor could he bear to see those people caught in the flames of war, right?"
The high and mighty immortals who claim to protect all living beings should return to their temples and refrain from matters of love and desire.
Yun Jue looked at the raging fire in the distance, flicked his sleeve and extinguished the wildfire, then looked at Xin Qi. After a long while, he also managed a smile, his voice cold: "Why not give it a try?"
Behind him, thousands of immortal cultivators were greatly shocked.
Down the mountain, countless demonic cultivators surged with demonic energy.
A major battle is imminent.
Just then, a delicate, trembling voice rang out: "Master, Brother Xin..." Then, a slender figure in white ran towards the center of the two groups of people. She lost her footing and fell heavily to the ground, but she still got up and ran to the center of the two, looking up at them: "Master, Brother Xin, please don't fight, okay?"
Tang Feiyan.
Yun Jue and Xin Qi did not move.
Tang Feiyan continued, "The realms of immortals and demons have been at peace for a hundred years. Please don't let this bring disaster to the three realms, okay? Master..." She looked at Yun Jue, but when she saw the crimson in his eyes, she froze and took a half step back.
For a moment, she couldn't believe that this was her master.
Yun Jue didn't look at her; he was still staring intently at Xin Qi.
Tang Feiyan turned to look at Xin Qi: "Brother Xin..."
Xin Qi lowered his eyes and smiled, "I've said it before, I only want my wife."
Before he could finish speaking, a sudden chill ran through his vision.
Xin Qi hurriedly turned his head to avoid the attack—it was Yun Jue's surging spiritual energy. He looked at Yun Jue, his smile gradually fading, and his eyes suddenly turned sinister.
Tang Feiyan remained standing in the center, looking up at the two men with a blank expression.
far away.
Jiang Fei flew quietly above the palace, glancing down at the two figures in red and white facing each other below Wunian Mountain, and Tang Feiyan between them. She sensed that the once spiritually vibrant mountain had become filled with murderous intent. Her white dress fluttered in the wind, and she gave a sarcastic smile.
It really is... exactly the same scene as when the original owner's soul was scattered.
After an unknown period of time, waves of malevolent energy swept in, and several roars of wild beasts echoed from Mount Wunian. Demonic cultivators surged up the mountain like a cloud of black mist, and the immortal cultivators hurriedly raised their swords to meet the enemy.
The two sides eventually went to war.
Amidst the mingling of spiritual and demonic energy, a power that blotted out the sky was unleashed. Clouds churned in the heavens, rivers overflowed on the ground, the stench of blood gradually rose nearby, and a section of a distant mountain was slashed away.
Jiang Fei looked at the crowd below expressionlessly. When the original owner's physical body was taken away, everyone here who helped protect him had participated in the incident.
The scene is truly spectacular.
But... Jiang Fei narrowed his eyes and looked at the woman in the chaos below.
Tang Feiyan's face was deathly pale, and she was walking unsteadily.
She couldn't believe that her master was controlled by inner demons, and she couldn't believe that her master had actually refined all the immortal energy in her body.
Looking at the glint of swords, the bloodshed, and the demonic aura around her, she kept murmuring, "Stop fighting..."
"Stop hitting him..."
But no one listened to her; everyone was engrossed in the killing and confrontation.
In the chaos, a demonic cultivator raised his longsword high and thrust it straight at Tang Feiyan's back.
At that moment, the demonic cultivator felt a sudden ache in his wrist, and his longsword fell to the ground. He turned his head and saw a white shadow flash by. Before he could react, Tang Feiyan had already disappeared.
Above the palace.
Tang Feiyan stood still, still shaken, and turned to look at the person who had saved her: "Thank you..."
He paused, taken aback, when he saw the woman before him clearly. "Miss Jiang..."
Jiang Fei raised an eyebrow: "You're welcome."
After saying that, he turned to look at the chaos below.
Tang Feiyan stared intently at Jiang Fei's profile for a long time before whispering, "They fought because of you..."
Jiang Fei glanced sideways and asked, "Hmm?"
"Aren't you going to stop it, Miss Jiang?" Tang Feiyan's eyes were red.
"Why did you stop me?" Jiang Fei laughed, turning to look at Gong Yuxia. "Wasn't the fight entertaining enough?"
What she didn't say was that this war is now only because of her, but it won't stop because of her.
Perhaps Yun Jue and Xin Qi will stop, but how could the people of the immortal and demon realms be willing to accept it?
She became the pretext for the standoff between the two sides when the war broke out.
Startled by her words, Tang Feiyan took two steps back, staring blankly at Jiang Fei's indifferent expression. Suddenly realizing something, she blurted out, "You don't like them?"
"Hmm?" Jiang Fei looked at her again.
Tang Feiyan had already made up her mind: "You don't like them, you're just...getting back." Her tone was completely certain.
If I like them, how could I bear to see them become like this?
How could I... feel nothing at all seeing them injured?
Jiang Fei scrutinized Tang Feiyan for a moment, then looked away and asked, "So, Miss Tang, are you going to reveal my true colors?"
Tang Feiyan's lips moved slightly, but she remained silent as she gazed at her.
Jiang Fei didn't say anything more, smiled, and got up to leave.
"Miss Jiang!" Tang Feiyan's voice suddenly rang out.
Jiang Fei paused in his steps.
Tang Feiyan paused for a moment, walked to her side, and after a long while, took out an ancient book from her sleeve and handed it to Jiang Fei.
"This is?"
"The cultivation manual." Tang Feiyan lowered her eyes. "Even my master couldn't comprehend it."
"Give it to me, Miss Tang?"
Tang Feiyan pursed her lips tightly.
For some reason, she felt that Miss Jiang could see through things; her gaze just now was even more profound than her master's: "Now only Miss Jiang can stop this war."
Jiang Fei looked at Tang Feiyan for a long time before taking the ancient book. He glanced at the mental incantation engraved on it with a carving knife, looked at it for a while, and then put it away.
Tang Feiyan's face paled: "Miss Jiang?"
Jiang Fei returned the ancient book to her, saying, "You do have the well-being of the people in your heart."
As soon as she finished speaking, she leaped into the air, her figure hovering gracefully in mid-air.
Just then, two figures flashed like lightning, tearing through the sky and stirring up towering clouds. The white-clad and red-clad figures intertwined, unleashing tremendous demonic energy that caused the immortal and demonic cultivators below to cough up blood.
Jiang Fei looked at the white figure. Above Yun Jue's head, the favorability rating remained at 90, without any movement.
Seemingly sensing the gazes from this direction, Yun Jue, who was locked in combat, looked over, but when he met Jiang Fei's gaze, his body trembled violently and then paused slightly.
Xin Qi's attack came without mercy, and a palm strike full of murderous intent slammed heavily into Yun Jue's body.
Yun Jue's body swayed in mid-air. His body, which had already exhausted a lot of life force and refined immortal energy, was extremely weak. Suddenly, he spat out a mouthful of blood.
Xin Qi did not stop his attack. The crimson magic seal in his hand, carrying enormous power, pressed straight down on Yun Jue. The surrounding space seemed to distort, and thick trees were uprooted.
He will not allow himself to fail, never.
He will take Jiang Fei away and then tell her that from now on, it will only be her, his one and only love for life.
Yun Jue, however, kept looking in Jiang Fei's direction. After a long while, a smile slowly appeared on his lips. In that instant, he gradually couldn't tell whether it was Yun Jue or Yun Wunian...
However, none of that matters anymore.
But he saw Jiang Fei's expression blank and then her eyes widen in horror.
Yun Jue looked away in confusion, only to see a barrage of magical seals hurtling towards him. The massive crimson seals grew smaller as they got closer, heading straight for his spiritual root in his heart.
Yun Jue was stunned.
But in the next instant, everything went dark, and a white figure rushed to him at top speed, forcefully shoving him aside.
"Yun Jue!" Accompanying this was a belated, soft call.
Yun Jue's injured body was pushed aside and slammed hard onto the ground. When he looked up, he saw Jiang Fei, who had been hovering above the palace, flying towards him at some point and blocking his way, as well as shielding him from Xin Qi's magic seal.
Yun Jue froze.
She called out to Yun Jue.
It's not Yun Wunian, but Yun Jue.
Xin Qi was also stunned.
He stared at the woman opposite him, not understanding why she had suddenly changed from Yun Jue to Jiang Fei.
Her body... could no longer withstand that fatal blow. At this moment, like the last withered leaf in the dead of winter, she coughed up a mouthful of blood and slowly fell to the ground.
Xin Qi remained frozen in mid-air, staring blankly at the ground.
Yun Jue staggered and crawled to Jiang Fei, picked her up, and moved very gently, but paused when he touched her blood—her blood was ice cold.
The next moment, he gently let her lean against him, opened his mouth, and after a long while, managed to squeeze out two words: "...No..."
But he couldn't even bring himself to say what he didn't want.
Jiang Fei's life force was rapidly fading, and her face was completely drained of color. She looked at the man above her and said, "Yun Jue."
Yun Jue's hands, which were holding her, trembled violently, his voice hoarse and incoherent: "Don't speak... You'll be alright... You'll be alright..."
He held her tightly, ignoring his own extremely weak body, and quickly transferred the last bit of life force within him to her.
But the life force passing through her body leaked out extremely quickly.
She was like a funnel, unable to hold even the slightest bit of life.
"No..." Yun Jue murmured, his life force burning even more frantically, as if he didn't care about his own life.
Jiang Fei looked at him… her favorability rating trembling above her head, and slowly lowered her eyes to smile weakly: “Back then, Xiao Wunian saved me… and now I’ve saved you…”
"We're even now..."
“No,” Yun Jue shook his head vigorously, his eyes red-rimmed, “It shouldn’t be calculated like this… You said that Yun Wunian is Yun Wunian, and Yun Jue is Yun Jue. What I owe you… is not even… I’m the one who owes you…”
"Look, you said you didn't like immortals, but I'm now a demon... From now on, I'll have desires and thoughts..."
"Jiang Fei, don't...don't want me..."
Jiang Fei stared at him blankly for a long time, then laboriously raised her hand and touched his cheek.
Her cold fingertips touched his bloodless face, and her lips moved, but no sound came out.
Yun Jue leaned down and brought his lips close to hers.
"What should we do..." Jiang Fei's voice was very soft, "Yun Jue..."
"I'm here……"
Jiang Fei took a deep breath and said, word by word, "No regrets."
The moment she finished speaking, her hand slipped from his cheek and fell limply to the ground.
Yun Jue's favorability rating: 100.
[System: Congratulations, host, mission complete!]
Jiang Fei's eyes brightened slightly, and she finally said softly, "The elm trees in Liu'an City have turned green again..."
Then, all hope was lost.
She had completely closed her eyes.
Yun Jue still held her body in a daze, his breath trembling slightly, as if he couldn't believe it. He opened his mouth but couldn't make a sound.
His body was curled up from the pain in his chest, as if only by tightly embracing the woman in his arms could he barely feel that he was still alive.
"Jiang Fei!" Not far away, Xin Qi landed on the ground and, as if sensing something, suddenly let out a hoarse roar.
He lowered his eyes, staring at his hands in disbelief.
It was he who killed Jiang Fei.
From the very beginning, when he used this hand to stab her on their wedding night, to the very end, when he used this hand to kill her.
The person who caused her the most harm was always him.
Xin Qi watched as crimson light mist gradually condensed in his palm, eventually forming a hand seal identical to the one from before.
He used this... to kill her.
Xin Qi stared at the Dharma Seal with almost manic eyes. After a long while, he tilted his head back and laughed softly. Then his laughter grew louder and louder until, after an unknown period of time, it abruptly stopped.
Xin Qi reached out and struck his heart with the Dharma Seal.
A strong red light enveloped him, and Xin Qi, unable to bear the excruciating pain any longer, fell to the ground.
But at that moment, Yun Jue felt a burning heat in his arms.
He quickly lowered his eyes.
Jiang Fei's body gradually emanated a layer of golden light, the light was clear and holy, and then became brighter and brighter.
A dazzling white light flashed, and Yun Jue felt a lightness in his arms.
He hurriedly reached out to grab the woman in his arms, but grasped at empty air.
Jiang Fei's body suddenly rose into the air, slowly transforming into shimmering golden petals, and dissipated in mid-air.
A huge surge of clear blue energy rippled outwards from Wunian Mountain.
The immortal and demon races, who were still fighting nearby, sensed this energy and stopped, looking towards the center of the energy.
In the sky, the originally gloomy clouds gradually became pure, and the surrounding area was filled with spiritual energy.
As the clouds gradually parted, a woman in a snow-white dress appeared amidst them, surrounded by a holy white light. She stood high above, her eyes languidly lowered, her alluring gaze captivating.
It seems to be showing compassion to the world, yet it has no desire whatsoever.
With a wave of her sleeve, she instantly cleansed the filth from Mount Wunian. She lightly touched a distant mountain peak, and everything was restored to its original state, Mount Wunian once again enveloped in spiritual energy.
That's... an immortal!
A true immortal!
Only immortals can possess such powerful magic.
Many immortals and demons around them knelt down in worship.
Only Yun Jue looked up and stared straight at her: "...Feifei." He called her softly.
Jiang Fei lowered her head and looked down at him, her eyes expressionless, and replied as he had before: "I am not the Fei Fei you speak of."
After saying this, he was about to fly away.
"Feifei!" Yun Jue, barely able to stand, ran towards her, "Don't go..."
Jiang Fei paused slightly.
Yun Jue swallowed the blood churning in his throat: "Or... take me away..."
Jiang Fei finally stopped, glanced at him sideways, and after a long while said, "You think you're worthy?"
This time, it didn't linger, but soared into the boundless clouds.
Yun Jue stood frozen in the distance, watching her figure disappear completely. His severely injured body trembled slightly, and his gaze remained lifeless as he stared at the clouds in the sky.
He vaguely knew that this was the real her.
She left.
The next moment, he suddenly thought of something, dragged his broken body towards the palace, walked to the window of the palace, squatted down among the dense spiritual grass, and kept searching for something.
But he paused when he smelled the medicinal scent emanating from the herb.
This is the taste of a spiritual medicine, the one he sent to Jiang Fei, which she had never tasted before.
From the very beginning, she had no intention of staying here alive.
Yun Jue pressed his lips tightly together, still crawling on the ground searching. His hands were covered in cuts, but he remained oblivious. After searching for an unknown amount of time, Yun Jue stopped, pulling a smoky purple bead from the soil.
Yun Jue clutched the bead tightly, curled up among the spiritual herbs for a long time, and a tear fell from the corner of her eye.
Her last words were, "The elm trees in Liuan City have turned green again."
She probably still cares about Yun Wunian.
Is it possible that if he completely transforms himself into Yun Wunian, she will remember him forever?
Yun Jue exerted force in his hand, and the bead finally shattered in his grasp, bursting forth with dazzling light.
Yun Jue lay still among the grass, watching the blinding light seep into his body. He closed his eyes, and on his left cheek, a crimson cloud-shaped birthmark slowly appeared...
...
Decades later.
The place where the three realms meet.
The once bustling Qianjin Tower is now deserted, and no one from the Three Realms comes to ask for treasures anymore. It has become a dead city.
Inside Qianjin Tower.
A man in a loose-fitting blue robe slumped back in his chair, holding a jar of wine and gulping it down. But no matter how much he drank, his eyes remained completely still, devoid of any drunkenness or emotion.
After an unknown amount of time, Rong Shu finished a jar of wine and called out loudly, "Bring more wine!"
But after waiting for a long time, there was still no sign of anything happening.
Rong Shu frowned impatiently, got up and walked towards the back courtyard, but stopped when she passed the pavilion where the treasure was hidden.
After a long pause, Rong Shu finally walked slowly into the attic.
He had already thrown out the countless treasures hidden inside. He still remembered the "grand scene" of that day, when countless people from the Three Realms abandoned all human dignity and frantically scrambled for treasures outside the Thousand Gold Tower.
On that day, blood flowed like a river outside Qianjin Tower, and the stench of blood lingered for a full month.
Rong Shu gave a mocking chuckle and walked into the innermost part of the room.
There were two ancient ice boxes there, their surfaces clear and shimmering with a faint blue light.
Rong Shu gently stroked one of the ice boxes, inside which was a lifelike heart, still a vibrant red.
Jiang Fei's heart.
The only thing she left him after she cut it off.
And another ice box...
Rong Shu reached out and touched her chest, where it felt empty.
Strangely, even though he had clearly ripped out his own heart, he still seemed to feel the pain, and the thought of it made him shudder.
Rong Shu moved the two ice boxes closer together, as if he were getting closer to her as well.
He chuckled softly, almost with pleasure.
"Master." The guard's voice suddenly came from outside the pavilion.
Rong Shu suppressed his smile, turned around and walked out of the pavilion. The guard was standing at the door holding a jar of wine. When he saw him come forward, he quickly handed the wine over.
Rong Shu took the wine and prepared to leave.
“Lord,” the guard hesitated for a moment, then said, “there has been quite a stir in the human realm recently. It seems that… a mortal is showing signs of ascension.”
Rong Shu didn't care much, but then she thought of something, her steps gradually came to a halt, and finally she let out a mocking laugh, got up and left.
...
Visit Fangzhen.
Because of the great war between immortals and demons at Wunian Mountain, Youfang Town was also affected and took decades to recover before it could barely regain its former prosperity.
What puzzled everyone was that when all the people of Youfang Town were fleeing, a one-armed man dressed in red and covered in dark red blood moved to Youfang Town.
He was missing his right arm, which appeared to have been cleanly severed. It was said that he had used that arm to injure his loved one, so after failing to commit suicide, he cut off his right arm himself.
He had no residence in Youfang Town, but instead stayed in a guest room at the Youfang Inn. He rarely spoke, and even when someone asked him a question, he would remain silent, as if he were born mute.
More often than not, he would sit in the bushes outside Youfang Town for a whole day, only leaving when the fireflies arrived.
As time went on, some well-meaning people asked him if he was mentally challenged, but he remained silent.
But everyone had clearly accepted it, only saying that he was a fool.
Until one day, a busybody snatched the silver hairpin from his hand. On that day, everyone saw how the busybody's flesh and blood turned into a puddle of mud inch by inch.
From then on, no one dared to provoke him.
And so, countless years passed.
Wunian Mountain gradually regained its former vitality, and Youfang Town also began to resemble its former prosperity.
On this day, two people who looked like immortal cultivators came to Youfang Town to buy some items, and they were whispering to each other about something.
"Have you heard? Recently, someone in the human realm has shown signs of ascending to immortality, even my master hasn't been able to ascend!"
"What do you know? I've heard that the person from the human realm was once Master's master!"
"Really? Wouldn't that be our grandmaster?"
"What grandmaster? He's long gone from Wunian Mountain. He abandoned the abundant spiritual energy of Wunian Mountain and insisted on cultivating in the mortal realm..."
"..."
The two eventually drifted apart.
The dejected man in red, who had just passed them, gradually stopped, his long, messy hair obscuring his eyes and brows. After a long while, he looked up in the direction of Wunian Mountain, and only after a moment did he look away and continue walking into the forest.
They all knew she had left.
And it will never turn back.
However, they all used their own methods to disbelieve it.
...
In the human realm, in Liu'an City.
It was the dead of winter.
"A monster!"
"Indeed, a birthmark on the face is an ominous sign, you old monster..."
"It's been so many years, and it's still the same. It should be burned to the ground!"
"horrible……"
The people around him whispered among themselves as they watched the white-clad man carrying bamboo strips.
Yun Jue remained silent throughout and quietly returned to his residence at the foot of the mountain.
He had remained there for nearly a century, though he couldn't quite remember the exact number. Because his appearance hadn't changed, he was already considered a terrifying monster.
But it doesn't matter.
Yun Jue entered the courtyard. In the dead of winter, the surrounding trees had long since withered, but this elm tree remained evergreen.
He placed the pastries from the bamboo basket on the low table under the elm tree, put the storybook on the rocking chair, and turned to go into the woodshed to cook.
Just like what I experienced in the illusion back then.
After finishing his dinner, he went to rest on the soft couch in Jiang Fei's old room.
Everything is just as it was when she was still here.
However, Yun Jue was not sleepy at all tonight.
He sat on the soft couch, staring intently at the roof beams above him. Tomorrow would be the day he ascended to heaven and underwent his tribulation.
He failed to attain enlightenment, nor could he let go of everything. He took a crooked path, using blood as a pact, in order to ascend to heaven in the shortest possible time.
The price to take this path is nine hundred and ninety-nine stone steps, nine hundred and ninety-nine lightning tribulations, and a bowing at each step. No one knows on which step he will lose his life.
He will make himself survive, climb the highest stone steps, survive, look at the sky above, and then find her.
Whether he was unworthy of her or not, he would stay by her side no matter what.
Yun Jue didn't sleep a wink that night.
The next day, Yun Jue went to the mountains. At first, auspicious clouds covered the sky, but then dark clouds enveloped the area and lightning struck.
Yun Jue didn't know how long he had been waiting when a rift opened in the sky, and a celestial staircase descended from the heavens.
He kowtowed with each step, until his knees were covered in blood.
One layer of lightning strikes, and after just a few layers, the flesh is already mangled and bloody.
Ke Yunjue continued to kneel and crawl upwards until, in the end, his entire body was completely unharmed.
He used his last breath to climb for seven days and seven nights until he finally reached the last stone step.
Yun Jue struggled to climb up, and in an instant the dark clouds dissipated, and the sky brightened, just like the day Jiang Fei disappeared.
Yun Jue couldn't help but close his eyes, feeling the sunlight shining on his face. He didn't want to become an immortal, but only to find her and imprison her.
But when Yun Jue opened his eyes and saw the scene before him, he was stunned.
There was nothing in the sky.
There was only a vast expanse of white clouds.
It is no different from the human world.
There were no pavilions or celestial terraces, no immortals, and certainly no... Jiang Fei.
Yes, but it is his body that is neither immortal nor demonic.
There was never a fairyland; it was merely the attainment of an immortal body.
Yun Jue reached out and touched the cloud, watching it dissipate from his fingertips, before collapsing onto the stone steps.
The Dao he could never comprehend, and no immortal in the Three Realms had ever successfully undergone tribulation...
Everything seemed to be nothingness.
This nearly century-long hope has ultimately vanished into nothingness.
Yun Jue lay on the stone steps, chuckled softly after a long while, and turned to look at the human realm below.
He half-closed his eyes and rolled over, falling to the ground.
On this day, the "monster" in the courtyard at the foot of Liu'an Mountain disappeared.
On this day, a heavy rain fell on Liuan City, which had been suffering from drought for a whole year.
...
Inside the cave.
When Jiang Fei opened her eyes again, she immediately saw her own body lying on the Xuanbing bed.
Her beauty was as radiant as a peach blossom, but ultimately she lacked the lifelike quality to be captured in a painting.
Jiang Fei squinted her eyes, wondering if it was just her imagination, but she felt that her body was becoming more and more beautiful.
Jiang Fei gently smoothed her already neat long hair from a distance, then said, "System."
The system muttered to itself, "Why is it so quiet outside the cave this time?"
Jiang Fei: "...Shouldn't we have enough spirit coins soon?"
[System: The host completed the mission in the previous world with excellent results. Xin Qi received a bounty of 7 million spirit coins, Yun Jue received 8 million spirit coins, and Rong Shu received 5 million spirit coins, totaling 20 million spirit coins. Adding this to the previous 56.8 million spirit coins, the total is 76.8 million spirit coins. Due to the host's outstanding performance in this world, a reward of 5 million spirit coins is given. The total is 81.8 million spirit coins.]
Jiang Fei smiled and said, "I love rewards the most."
As soon as he finished speaking, a rustling sound came from outside the cave.
The system sighed, "This is probably one of the host's grieving partners, here to cause trouble again."
Before it could finish sighing, Jiang Fei laughed, his eyes half-closed, genuinely delighted.
[System: Host?]
It was puzzled, but deeply shocked. After all, it had never seen its host show any kindness to any resentful partner.
Jiang Fei ignored it, quickly walked to the cave entrance, then squatted down and gently stroked the palm-sized, slender, emerald-green body that had come close to him through the barrier: "Good child, it must have taken you quite a while to find me, right?"
The emerald shadow outside the cave made only hissing sounds, like a small emerald snake.
"I'll see you again once I've recovered," Jiang Fei said again.
The little snake hissed sadly.
"During the time I was away, did anyone bully you?" Jiang Fei asked.
The little snake stiffened, then rubbed against her palm with a look of both dependence and grievance.
“Looks like you’ve been bullied,” Jiang Fei raised an eyebrow. “Don’t worry, once I get out of here, I’ll definitely get justice for you.”
The system silently gazed at her; she had never been this gentle even to herself. [Host, what is this?]
Jiang Fei smiled, patted the little snake's head, and the snake quickly disappeared outside the barrier: "My mount."
[System: ...That little snake?]
"Hmm," Jiang Fei hummed softly, and seeing that it was about to ask another question, she interrupted it first, "Let's start the next world."
Author's Note: I did miscalculate the spirit coins before, so there's another world~
The next world is the modern world, and I might need a day or two to brainstorm ideas, so I'll try my best to finish the side stories I owe tomorrow (I doubt anyone in this world wants to read side stories lol).
Proposed character designs for the next world (may change): A beautiful woman with a blind and mentally impaired constitution + a scheming and manipulative man + a naive and foolish "idiot" (or possibly an AI from the modern world who only follows a program but develops self-awareness for the original female lead (personal fantasy)).
