Chapter 118

When Shu Yun woke up, she felt as if her whole body had been run over by a car, and she was in pain and weak.

As her vision gradually cleared, she gazed at the layers of dark green bed curtains hanging above her and the copper bells tied to the corners of the bed.

The windows in the room were carefully closed to prevent even the slightest draft from getting in and affecting the person sleeping on the bed.

Shu Yun propped herself up on the bed with her elbows, trying to sit up.

A sharp pain shot through her abdomen, and Shu Yun frowned slightly, letting out a muffled groan of pain.

Xiaoshu, who had been dozing off inside the house, was immediately startled awake by the noise and hurriedly lifted layer after layer of dark green gauze curtains.

"Prince Princess?"

Shu Yun looked up and saw a beautiful face appear beside the bed, looking at her excitedly.

For ordinary people, three years have passed, but for her, it has only been three days.

Shu Yun looked at Xiao Shu's features, which had matured and lost their former playfulness and cuteness, replaced by the gentle and graceful beauty of a grown-up girl.

"Minor Heat?"

Xiaoshu propped herself up on the bed with both hands and leaned closer to Shuyun with a grin, "Your Highness still remembers me?"

After saying that, she scratched her head a little embarrassedly, "I thought that after three years, the Crown Princess would have long forgotten about me, her little maid."

Shu Yun said softly, "How could this be..."

For her, only three days had passed...

Xiaoshu suddenly exclaimed "Ah!" and straightened up.

Shu Yun struggled to sit up, trying to lean against the bed, but the pain in her stomach made her movements stiff.

Seeing this, Xiaoshu quickly bent down to help her up, saying, "Your Highness, you're awake. I need to hurry and report to the Prince."

Shu Yun leaned against the headboard and asked, "Is Xie Fu at home?"

Xiaoshu nodded, "Yes, the young master should be in his study handling state affairs right now. I'll go and report this good news to him right away. Your Highness, you haven't woken up yet, and the young master is extremely worried."

Shu Yun twitched the corner of her mouth, "Is that so..."

After carefully helping Shu Yun lean back, Xiao Shu placed a soft pillow behind Shu Yun's lower back to make her more comfortable.

After doing all this, Xiaoshu happily skipped and ran out the door. The princess had been unconscious for the past few days. Although the prince didn't say it, she could feel that he cared about her.

Just like my mother said, when you like someone, even if you can control your expression, your eyes will betray you.

Every time the young master looked at his unconscious wife on the bed, his eyes were filled with sorrow.

Xie Fu was wearing a fox fur coat, made from the precious black fox pelt that the Xie family had collected for a long time.

Xie Fu removed his jade crown, his black hair cascading down onto the black fox fur coat, where the two appeared to blend into one from a distance.

His fingers were a pale white, with long, slender, and well-proportioned knuckles. He held a report in his hand, his dark eyes fixed on it, and he didn't turn the page for a long time.

After a while, Xie Fu threw the report onto the table, turned to look at the heavy snow falling outside the window, and rubbed his temples wearily.

It's unclear what he was thinking, but his aura became refined and settled, as if a thick, substantial emotion enveloped his entire body.

"Young Master".

A servant gently knocked on the door.

Xie Fu didn't open his eyes. "What is it?"

"Xiaoshu from the inner courtyard came to report that Miss Shuyun has woken up."

Xie Fu's long, dark eyelashes trembled, and then he opened his eyes, his dark eyes deep and unfathomable.

When the Crown Princess woke up, Xiao Shu was so happy that she ran too fast and forgot to put on a cloak. Now she was outside the Crown Prince's study, stamping her feet in the cold.

To warm up, Xiaoshu kept rubbing his hands together and twisting his legs haphazardly.

She craned her neck and looked at the servant at the door with a puzzled expression. "Why hasn't the young master come out yet?"

She said angrily, "Fine! Didn't you go and report it earlier?!"

The servant quickly begged for forgiveness, "How could I dare? I really went to report it!"

Xiaoshu: "Why hasn't the young master come out yet! He's most worried about the young mistress, he'll definitely come out immediately as soon as he hears the news."

The servant was also puzzled. After hesitating for a moment, he said, "Perhaps you have extremely important official business to attend to?"

Xiaoshu said "Oh," and then, feeling the cold, she paced around the doorway. She couldn't help but ask the servant again, "Did you really announce it just now?"

The servant raised his hand and swore, "I really did report it. The young master responded earlier, and after I said that Miss Shuyun had woken up, there was no sound from the room again."

Xiaoshu was truly stunned. "What on earth is going on...?"

No sooner had he finished speaking than the study door was pushed open from the inside.

A strong and upright figure strode out of the house, a black fox fur draped over his back, which made his handsome face even more striking.

Xie Fu glanced at Xiao Shu, whose nose was red from the cold, and instructed the servant beside him to bring her a cloak.

She felt much better after getting a cloak to keep out the wind and cold during the Lesser Heat. She gestured excitedly to Xie Fu, "The Crown Princess is awake!"

Xie Fu responded softly, his voice low and deep, "Let's go."

Xiaoshu watched the young master's tall, thin back as he walked ahead, and happily gestured as she slowly lowered her hands.

She couldn't help but feel that the young master didn't seem very happy...

Xiaoshu followed the young master to Shuyun's room, and stopped walking when she reached the door.

A smart and proper maid should know when to stay away from her masters' private time and not be a hindrance or a third wheel that hinders their relationship.

Xie Fu entered through the door and lifted layer after layer of dark green gauze curtains that blocked the bed. The copper bells tied at the top of the curtains rang in turn as he moved, making a crisp sound.
