Chapter 1 Rebirth (2/2)

After watching her father finish arranging her mother's funeral, she went into the room alone, sat on the bed, and took out the only family photo of the three of them. She heard her father say: "You've met now, haven't you? You're so heartless to leave me all alone. What's the point of this family without you? Daughter, daughter-in-law, wait for me a moment, I'll come to find you soon."

Hearing this, her heart ached. Oh no, her father was going to die. She floated to her father's side and said, "Father, please don't! Don't do anything foolish!" But her father didn't hear her. He had already picked up the glass of water containing rat poison and drunk it all in one gulp.

"Father, Father, hurry and find a doctor! No matter how much she screams, it's too late." Father had already collapsed to the ground, foaming at the mouth, and soon died. Two days later, her parents passed away one after the other. Her grandparents said their family was cursed with short lives, and her uncle's family lamented that their parents died so young, leaving them with fewer people to work like beasts of burden.

She also dreamt that her cousin pushed her off a cliff, wanting her university acceptance letter so she could go to university in her place. She dreamt of her cousin talking to her ex-fiancé, Zhang Weibing, revealing that her cousin wasn't the person who saved her when she was young, but had been deliberately deceiving and using her all along. She also dreamt that her cousin and Zhang Weibing had been having an affair all along, and she was the only one oblivious.

She also dreamt that her cousin went to university with her acceptance letter, and after graduating, she was assigned a job. That scumbag Zhang Weibing, relying on his father's favor of saving the village chief's youngest son, obtained a spot at a worker-peasant-soldier university, and after graduating, he too was assigned a job. The two became enviable public servants, earning high salaries and becoming city dwellers. Later, they had two children, a boy and a girl, and the couple lived a loving and harmonious life, with well-behaved and sensible children, becoming a well-known model couple in the neighborhood.

Her soul raged, tears of blood streaming from her eyes. Why? Her family suffered a terrible death, while those who harmed them lived freely and unscathed. She was filled with resentment. She had been blind to their goodness, mistaking wolves for good people—she deserved it, but her parents were innocent. She was filled with hatred and regret, but there was nothing she could do. A failure as a human was no different from being a ghost.

"Do you want to go back to the past? To change everything?" A strange voice rang out. She paused, thinking it was a hallucination, but the voice spoke again. She looked around but found nothing. "Don't look for me. I'm in your mind. I'm asking if you're willing to accept this mission. Once you complete it, I can send you back to the past."

"Is what you're saying true? I can go back to the past. Back to the time when I wasn't dead and my parents weren't dead?" she asked, her voice trembling with excitement. "Yes, as long as you're willing to accept the mission in the Three Thousand Worlds, you can be sent back to the past after completing the mission."

I'm willing. I'm willing to endure any hardship or toil to go back to the way things were. Alright, go then. A golden light flashed, enveloping her soul, and she vanished without a trace.

Su Xingran slowly opened her eyes, looking at the familiar, dilapidated yet clean room. Tears streamed down her face. She remembered; everything in her dream had actually happened. She had died, and her soul had been sent to the Three Thousand Worlds to complete a mission. After the mission was completed, the system sent her back to her past.

She was reborn, she came back. She cried and then laughed. It was good, everything was still in time. She came back when she was twelve years old. She went to the mountains to catch pheasants with the older villagers. She got separated from them and fell into the forest. Her cousin, Su Wenli, rescued her and carried her home.

Hehe, Su Wenli, Zhang Weibing, we'll see what happens next. This time, let's see who comes out on top.
