Chapter 124 Severing Ties Part 1 (2/2)

"A letter severing ties. Once signed, our two families will have no further connection. Our family will withdraw our report against Su Wenxing and his associates." Su's father said these words, showing no brotherly affection whatsoever towards his eldest son.

The eldest son of the Su family stared at his father in disbelief, and even Zhao Xiaohua and the others who were eavesdropping inside were stunned. Severing ties was unprecedented in Su Family Village.

"Second son, are you crazy? You actually...you actually want to sever ties. How can you face your parents?" Old Master Su roared angrily.

"They're the ones who wronged my family of three; they abandoned me first. Enough with the nonsense. Sign the agreement to save your son and the others. If you don't sign, they'll be in jail. Even if human trafficking doesn't result in execution, it'll still take more than ten years." Father Su threatened without any politeness.

"Don't even think about the Wang family saving them. The Wang father and son are already inside. No one can save Su Wenxing and the others." Su Xingran saw that Su Laoda was still hoping the Wang family could get them out of trouble, so she had no choice but to expose him.

"Boss, if you want to save Wenxing, what's the point of being out of jail after serving so long?" Zhao Xiaohua panicked when she heard that the Wang family father and son had been arrested, and immediately ran out instead of hiding.

Su Laoda never expected that the Wang family father and son would be arrested. On the day he was released, he heard villagers say that the second son's family knew the police chief. The second son's daughter called the chief "uncle," and the chief publicly admitted that the second son's daughter was his niece.

His mind was in turmoil as he looked at the agreement in his father's hand. He steeled himself and decided to save them; one was his elderly mother, the other his son—he couldn't afford not to.

"If I sign it, will you go to the police station to withdraw it, and then Wenxing and Mother can be released?" Su Laoda asked, staring at Su's father.

“It’s not just you signing, it’s your whole family signing. Of course, once the agreement is signed, we will withdraw the police report.”

The eldest son of the Su family took the agreement and pen and signed his name. Su Xingran also prepared ink pads, and Su's father asked those who had signed their names to put their fingerprints on them as well.

"Come over here and write your names down, then put your fingerprints on them." Father Su pointed to the three Su siblings sitting in the room, and Zhao Xiaohua standing next to the eldest Su brother.

After the Su family signed their names and put their fingerprints on the agreement, Su's father took the agreement to Su's father's room.

When Old Man Su saw Su's father, he was so excited that he kept making "oohs" and "ahs," with drool dripping from the corner of his mouth. Old Man Su pleaded with his father with his eyes, begging him not to sever ties; he didn't want to.

Ignoring the old man's actions, Mr. Su walked to his bedside and took the old man's still-movable hand. He placed a pen in the old man's hand and, holding his hand, wrote his name on the agreement. After writing his name, he pressed his fingerprint on it.

Old Man Su struggled, his hand held by his father, unwilling to write his name. But his father held his hand tightly and wrote the three characters "Su Zhengde" stroke by stroke.

When the last stroke of his name was written, Old Man Su stopped struggling, tears streaming down his face. He stood there blankly as his father led him to place his fingerprints.

The decades-long father-son relationship has come to an end today. Mr. Su couldn't quite describe his feelings, but he felt relieved. From now on, he was no longer Su Zhengde's son.

Father Su took out the money he had prepared from his pocket—ten ten-yuan bills, a total of one hundred yuan. He folded the money and placed it in the palm of Old Man Su's movable right hand. Father Su turned and strode forward without looking back.

Stepping out of the house, Mr. Su saw his daughter waiting for him in the yard. He smiled and walked towards her, "Ranran, let's go home!"
