Chapter 13 Doctor Huang's Memories Part 2 (1/2)

As time went by, he quickly grew up. When he turned eighteen, Qingxiao turned fourteen, a young girl who was already a well-known beauty in the neighborhood. His mother would tell him, "She likes Qingxiao, so make sure she's kept an eye on her and doesn't get snatched away by someone else."

He told himself he would keep an eye on her, that she wouldn't be kidnapped, that he would protect her and prevent her from suffering again. Over the years, he noticed something was wrong with Qingxiao, but he didn't mention it to anyone. Instead, he read books on his own. At first, he thought Qingxiao was ill, but later he came across a book about folk tales and supernatural phenomena. In it, he read that after people die and are reborn, their emotions, speech, and behavior are different from before their rebirth.

He thought back carefully and realized that Qingxiao had started to change the day she suddenly hugged him and cried when she was ten years old. He didn't know what Qingxiao had gone through, why she had died, or how she had been reborn. But he knew that he must protect her for the rest of his life.

By the time Qingxiao turned eighteen, he had taken over the Huang family's pharmacy and become a doctor himself. The Huang family had been practicing medicine for generations, a century-old medical family with a reputation and influence in the area. Huang Zhenhua was the eldest of three brothers and the heir.

Qingxiao has grown into a graceful and charming young woman, gentle and generous. If it weren't for Gu's parents' obstruction and avoidance, the threshold of the Gu family would have been worn down by her.

Huang Zhenhua was also anxious. Ever since he realized he liked Qingxiao when she was seventeen, he had been calculating in his heart, hoping that Qingxiao would turn eighteen soon so that he could confess his feelings. If Qingxiao agreed, he could marry her and make her his Mrs. Huang.

Finally, Qingxiao turned eighteen. Huang Zhenhua got up early, dressed in new clothes and shoes, and fiddled with his hair in front of the mirror, constantly asking his aunt, Huang, "Aunt Huang, is this outfit okay? How do my shoes match? Is my hair messy?"

Aunt Huang was a little surprised. What was wrong with him today? He was acting like someone going on a blind date. His clothes were nice, his shoes were nice, and his hair was neat. Aunt Huang didn't even know how many times she had said those things.

When Huang Zhenhua's parents came downstairs for breakfast, they saw him pacing around the room. They exchanged a glance, somewhat puzzled by their eldest son, who had always been composed, calm, and unflappable in the face of adversity. What was wrong with him now? He was jumping around like a shrimp that had fallen into a frying pan.

"Zhenhua, what are you doing?" Madam Huang finally couldn't help but ask. She and her husband had been standing there for quite a while. Her son hadn't even noticed them, and was just wandering around aimlessly.

"Good morning, Mom and Dad. You're up." "What are you doing wandering around here so early in the morning?" Madam Huang asked him again. "Mother, how do you like my clothes?" Huang Zhenhua replied, seemingly unrelated to the question.

Only then did Madam Huang get a good look at her son. Today, he was dressed in a new navy blue long gown, new leather shoes, and his hair was styled with hair oil so high that even an ant couldn't crawl on it. Looking like a peacock spreading its tail feathers, anyone who didn't know better would think he was getting married today.
