Chapter 155 Gu Moli's Care (2/2)

Next, Xiao Xue served tea to the elders of the Gu family, while Su Xingran and Gu Moli helped serve the tea and carry the red envelopes given to the bride by the elders.

After the tea ceremony, everyone rushed to the Beijing Hotel for the banquet. This time, Su Xingran rode on Gu Moli's bicycle again. Before Su Xingran could even speak, Gu Moli offered to give her a ride.

When Su Xingran arrived at the restaurant, she saw the chef and Gu Moyue greeting guests at the entrance. "Chef, Sister Moyue."

Huang Zhenhua watched his disciple approach, followed by Gu Moli. He was a little surprised. As far as he knew, Xingran and Moli had first met on the train. When did they become so familiar?

"Xingran, let me remind you, you'll be following behind Xiaoxue later. When she's toasting the guests, you absolutely mustn't try to stop her from drinking. You're not allowed to drink, understand?"

Huang Zhenhua was worried that the young men at the banquet would cause trouble, and his apprentice would end up drinking on their behalf.

"Uncle, don't worry! I won't let her drink while I'm here," Gu Moli assured Huang Zhenhua.

Huang Zhenhua had a feeling that something was off about what Mo Li was saying. What did he mean by "I won't let her drink while I'm here"? He hadn't even explained it yet, and Mo Li had already jumped out to say it.

"Mo Li, you better keep a close eye on your sister Xing Ran. If she gets drunk, I'll hold you accountable."

Gu Moyue listened from the side, blinking a few times. When did her younger brother become so enthusiastic? Wasn't he very averse to women ever since that incident? Why is he so enthusiastic about Xingran now?

Su Xingran and Gu Moli entered the restaurant, where many guests had already arrived. Finding the newlyweds' table, the two walked over. In crowded areas, Gu Moli stepped slightly forward to create a barrier, preventing anyone from bumping into Su Xingran.

The banquet includes a segment where the newlyweds take their vows on stage. After this process, the banquet can officially begin. After the banquet starts, Su Xingran sits with the Huang family, and she will help the newlyweds when they go to toast the guests.

Halfway through the banquet, the newlyweds began toasting. Su Xingran had been paying attention to what was happening there while she was eating. Seeing Gu Moting and Xiao Xue stand up, and Gu Moli also stand up, she put down her chopsticks, left her seat, and walked over.

As Su Xingran approached, she heard Gu Moli ask her, "Are you hungry? Have you eaten enough?"

Su Xingran assumed he had heeded his master's instructions. "It's alright, I've eaten something, so I won't go hungry."

Looking at the table, apart from the master, everyone else was wearing military uniforms and was over sixty years old. Su Xingran understood why this banquet could have so many tables.

When toasting, people usually don't ask the bride to drink. It's only when toasting the young men and women at the table that someone suggests the bride and bridesmaids have a drink. On such a joyous occasion, it's not considered a downer.

“My wife can’t drink alcohol, so I’ll drink it for her.” Gu Moting picked up his glass and took a sip.

“Mo Ting, your wife can’t drink, so you have to drink three cups to make up for it,” a man suggested.

"Alright, I'll drink three cups to make up for my wife's cup. It's a deal, three cups." Gu Moting poured himself two more cups and drank them down.

"What about the bridesmaid? Let the bridesmaid have a drink, just one drink will do." The young men at the table started to egg her on.

"No, how can we let Xingran drink alcohol?" Xiao Xue tugged at Gu Moting's sleeve.

Just as Gu Moting was about to speak, Su Xingran looked at the glass of wine. "She's too young to drink, so I'll drink for her. I'll drink three glasses to make up for her one." A large hand took the wine that was originally meant for Su Xingran and drank it down, one glass after another, until the three glasses were finished.
