"What? Taihe, you mean that Zhou family's Siyun, she ordered people to arrest Xiaoxue and Xingran?" Liang Yun's voice rose several octaves with excitement.
Gu Junru was also surprised. "Xiaoxue and Xingran don't know her. Why did she send people to arrest them?"
Huang Zhenhua thought of Zhou's second-rate eldest daughter-in-law; it wasn't surprising that she could raise such a child. The question was, what had Xingran and Xiaoxue done to offend Zhou's second granddaughter?
"Taihe, do you know why the second granddaughter of the Zhou family did this?" As soon as Huang Zhenhua said this, everyone in the room was waiting for Huang Taihe's answer.
“I’ve asked the police to investigate, and I believe we’ll have results soon. If it turns out that it was indeed Zhou’s granddaughter who did it, what will you do, Uncle and Aunt? After all, your family has a lot of dealings with the Zhou family.”
Liang Yun stared at Gu Junru, as if she wouldn't let him off easily unless he gave her a satisfactory answer.
Gu Junru looked at his wife, who was still the same as when they were young. Whenever he made a decision, she would stare at him intently, and if he didn't give a satisfactory and reasonable answer, he would probably be the one who suffered.
Gu Junru coughed lightly, "If it turns out that it was indeed the second granddaughter of the Zhou family who did it, our family will not let her off easily. No matter how good the relationship is, we cannot tolerate our own family being bullied."
Liang Yun nodded in satisfaction. "That's right. Who cares about the Zhou family or their long-standing friendship? They've gone too far in bullying people. Like mother, like daughter. That Du Shulan used to be like that too."
Around 9:30 p.m., the Gu couple took Xiao Xue home. Su Xingran also returned to her room to take a shower and rest.
Huang Taihe was called into Huang Zhenhua's study, and it took him about half an hour to emerge and return to the military compound. No one knows what the father and son discussed during that half hour in the study.
After taking a shower, Su Xingran returned to her room. She pulled down the back of her shirt and looked in the mirror. Sure enough, there was a bruise on her back. She then looked at the corner of her mouth, where there was also a bruise.
With a soft sigh, Su Xingran felt helpless. What was going on? Why did she always seem so unlucky, always encountering this or that? After thinking for a while without coming up with a solution, she resignedly picked up the medicine and applied it to her wound.
The next day, Saturday, Su Xingran went to the Huang family's pharmacy with Huang Zhenhua. The bruises on her face had faded considerably after applying medicine the night before. This was Su Xingran's first time at a pharmacy; she hadn't had time to come before the start of the school term.
Huang Zhenhua brought Su Xingran to the pharmacy, which was run by an elderly couple. When the couple saw Huang Zhenhua bring a girl in, they immediately knew who she was.
"Zhenhua, you're here! The person behind you must be your apprentice Xingran!" Uncle Li asked with a smile.
"Xingran, this is Uncle Li, and that is Aunt Li. You can call them Uncle Li and Aunt Li from now on. Old Li is my little apprentice. She didn't have class today, so she went home. I brought her over to visit."
"Hello, Uncle Li and Aunt Li, I am Xingran." Su Xingran had heard her master mention Uncle Li and Aunt Li before, and knew that the couple had always followed her master and helped manage the Huang family's pharmacy.
"Okay, okay, hello Xingran, Uncle Li and Aunt Li congratulate you on getting into university." The couple looked at Su Xingran with beaming smiles.
