Chapter 162 Su Xingran Goes to Huang Family Pharmacy (2/2)

Su Xingran looked around the pharmacy, which had a traditional, ancient style. She had never seen a pharmacy with such an ancient feel before, especially not one during her later missions. Even pharmacies with ancient-style decor were different from the ones she saw now.

Su Xingran remembered her master saying that the Huang family's pharmacy had been forced to close down. Later, her master and mistress petitioned higher authorities and made some conditions so that the pharmacy could reopen.

The master craftsman said this place represents the hard work of three generations of the Huang family, and it's where he and his wife grew up, filled with fond memories. Therefore, even though the master craftsman is no longer in Beijing, this pharmacy remains open.

Aunt Li showed Su Xingran around the shop, introducing her to the medicinal herbs, prepared Chinese medicine slices, and ointments. Su Xingran then learned that the ointments were made by Aunt Li and Uncle Li. Aunt Li told her that the nearby residents were the source of the pharmacy's customers.

For minor ailments such as fever, colds, coughs, dizziness, headaches, etc., residents would come to the pharmacy to buy medicine or to have Uncle Li treat them. The Huang family pharmacy had been open for a long time, so everyone felt quite at ease with it.

Su Xingran and Huang Zhenhua spent the whole day in the pharmacy. When things got busy, Huang Zhenhua helped with the consultations, and Su Xingran helped with dispensing the medicine. The four of them were busy with their own tasks, and Uncle Li and Aunt Li secretly watched Su Xingran several times. They noticed that her dispensing skills were quite accurate, and her speed was also normal.

Uncle Li and Aunt Li were relieved. They knew that the Huang family's pharmacy would be handed over to this girl. The couple had a deep affection for the pharmacy and hoped it could continue to operate.

That evening, Huang Zhenhua brought Su Xingran home, followed by Huang Taihe and Huang Taizhou with their wives and children. Upon seeing Su Xingran, her sisters-in-law rushed over to check her face.

“Xingran, your sister-in-law and second sister-in-law heard from your brother that you were beaten. Those people should be thrown in jail and serve their lives for it. How could they be so cruel to two girls?”

The three children ran over and surrounded Su Xingran. "Auntie, are you in pain? Dad said you were beaten up. Those bad people went too far, they actually hit a girl."

Su Xingran listened as the youngest child grumbled that hitting a girl was wrong. She smiled gently; even a child knew that you shouldn't hit a girl. Su Xingran felt a mischievous urge to tease him.

She patted Huang Jiawei's head and said, "Jiawei, you said hitting a girl is too much. Who told you that? Sister-in-law, I'm fine. I beat them up and sent them to the police station. I didn't lose out."

Six-year-old Huang Jiawei said in his childish voice, "Daddy said that a man's hands are for conquering the world, not for hitting women. A man who hits women is not a good person. He told me that I am not allowed to hit girls anymore, or he will abandon me and throw me out of the house."

“Those bad guys who beat up Auntie are no good either. When my brother and I grow up, we’ll avenge Auntie.”

Su Xingran couldn't help but chuckle as she listened to Huang Jiawei's childish yet earnest words. Her master's family certainly had a good tradition; even such a young child understood these principles.

Huang Taizhou, listening to his son's words, couldn't help but laugh. There was a very mischievous boy in the compound who always bullied the little girls, and the girls' parents had come to confront the boy's parents. Huang Taizhou and his family had heard about this, and when they got home, they disciplined their child. He was surprised that his child remembered everything he said.

"Xingran, your older brother said you took on four opponents and won. I really didn't expect you to be so fierce in a fight, looking like a weak scholar. If I had your skills before, I wouldn't have been so easily beaten." Sister-in-law Liao Shishi looked on with longing.

“That’s right, I think so too. If I had Xingran’s skills, I would have beaten those troublemakers to a pulp when I was young.” Second sister-in-law Chen Jieyi was also excited.

Su Xingran glanced at her two older brothers sitting beside her, and seeing their indescribable expressions, she almost burst out laughing. Did she somehow lead her family astray?
