Chapter 175 Gu Moli Gets Shot (1/2)

The chatter was clearly not in Chinese. Gu Moli turned off his headlamp and gestured to his teammates. They quietly made their way forward.

The light of burning firewood shone not far ahead, and Gu Moli and his companions found a place to hide. By the light of the burning firewood, Gu Moli could see that there were eight or nine men sitting around a fire, roasting something.

The six people, led by Gu Moli, looked at each other, and nodded after a few seconds. They then dispersed according to their usual combat training plan.

Gu Moli's small team waited for their comrades from other teams to arrive. There were eight or nine men from another country ahead, while Gu Moli's team consisted of six. Acting rashly would disrupt the battle plan and give the enemy a chance to escape.

It was past three in the morning, and the jungle was swarming with mosquitoes and insects. Gu Moli and the others were bitten by mosquitoes, and although they were incredibly itchy, they could only endure it.

Another squad also spotted the fire ahead. The squad leader immediately gestured for his teammates to proceed slowly and quietly. They stopped when they were not far from the fire.

The captain and his teammates reached a consensus: according to their usual combat training, they would spread out and find good positions to hide.

The two small teams stared at the area illuminated by the burning firewood ahead. Following the signal agreed upon before entering the jungle, if they encountered the enemy, regardless of which team it was, they would all use sparrow calls to notify the other teams; three calls would be the signal.

Half an hour later, Gu Moli had his teammate Zhang He give a signal, and Zhang He understood, mimicking a sparrow's chirping three times. The other squad watching from the opposite side, hearing the three bird calls, immediately realized that another squad had also taken cover.

Fearing the enemy would notice something amiss, the other squad waited ten minutes before making their call. Gu Moli's squad, hearing the call, knew another squad had arrived.

The agreement was that the first bird call from one squad would signal to the opposing squad that they were in position, and the second bird call would signal to the opposing squad to launch an attack.

Eight men had fallen asleep by the firelight ahead. One man remained awake, presumably on night watch.

Half an hour later, those who had been sleeping were fast asleep. Gu Moli signaled Zhang He to emit a second bird call, signaling the enemy squad to attack.

Gu Moli's squad prepared to attack, and Zhang He emitted another bird call. Ten seconds after the bird call ended, Gu Moli signaled to his teammates to advance.

Upon hearing the bird calls again, the opposing squad leader immediately signaled his teammates to advance. The two squads then sandwiched the unidentified figures from another country as they moved towards them.

As he approached the group's location, the man on watch suddenly stood up, pistol in hand, and looked around. The foreign man clearly sensed something was amiss.

Gu Moli and the other team leader noticed the problem and immediately moved forward quickly. The foreign man, sensing something amiss, was about to notify his teammates.

Suddenly hearing the sound of movement, the foreign man turned around, and a fist, swift as the wind, aimed for his forehead. The foreign man reacted quickly, dodging the punch.
