Chapter 182 Gu Moli's fever subsides and he regains consciousness (2/2)

When Doctor Qin asked about the powder and pills, Gu Moli smiled. "No, the powder and pills weren't given to me by my uncle; they were sent to me by his apprentice."

Doctor Qin was somewhat confused; he didn't quite understand Gu Moli's meaning. The powder and pills weren't given by Elder Huang himself, but by Elder Huang's apprentice. What was the difference between that and what Elder Huang gave them? Wasn't it just that Elder Huang's things were being passed on by his apprentice?

"Dr. Qin, these powders and pills have nothing to do with my uncle. They were developed by his apprentice. If they were for my uncle, she wouldn't have sent them. Besides, these are different from what my uncle used to have. Dr. Qin, don't you also feel that they are very effective?"

"Yes, I feel that this powder has a very good hemostatic effect, and I saw a clear effect after feeding you this pill. If there were such hemostatic powder and quick-acting pills, they could save the lives of soldiers who are injured on missions in the future."

Doctor Qin became increasingly excited as he spoke, eager to meet the owner of the powder and pills immediately. He figured that Master Huang's apprentice should be around his age, or at least not by much. He could learn medical techniques from Master Huang's apprentice and discuss things with him.

Gu Moli didn't know what Qin Junyi was so excited about, or what he was thinking. As for the question Qin Junyi raised, he needed to ask Su Xingran before he could make a decision.

"Dr. Qin, I need to ask her about the question you raised. She's still in school and probably only has time to be home during holidays."

Doctor Qin was stunned by Gu Moli's comment that he was still in school. "Moli, what did you say? You said that Elder Huang's apprentice is still in school? How old is he this year?"

Gu Moli had talked a bit too much, and his throat felt noticeably uncomfortable. "Dr. Qin, my throat feels a little uncomfortable and dry. Could you get me a glass of water?"

"Oh," how could he forget that Gu Moli was still a patient who had just woken up? Why was he pestering him with questions? Doctor Qin slapped his head somewhat embarrassedly.

Taking the water glass from Dr. Qin, Gu Moli drank several sips. His throat felt much better, and he remembered he hadn't answered Dr. Qin's question earlier.

“My uncle’s apprentice is a freshman in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Peking University. She just celebrated her coming-of-age birthday recently, and she’s a girl.”

Upon hearing Gu Moli's words, Doctor Qin fell into doubt. He wasn't doubting Gu Moli's words, but rather doubting himself. He was already in his forties, and this young woman, barely an adult, was far more capable than this seasoned veteran.

A day later, it was confirmed that Gu Moli was in good health and could undergo the bullet removal surgery. Under the hospital's arrangement, Dr. Qin performed the surgery alongside other doctors from the hospital.

Gu Moli was wheeled into the operating room, where Dr. Qin was the surgeon. He cut open the flesh next to the gunshot wound in Gu Moli's abdomen and found the bullet deep inside. Fortunately, the bullet had not penetrated any internal organs. After removing the bullet, the wound was stitched up, and the slit wound next to it was also stitched up.

After leaving the operating room, Gu Moli was wheeled back to his ward. As long as the wound didn't become infected and he didn't develop a fever, he could simply recover gradually. Knowing that everything was going in the right direction, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Shao Fei didn't trust anyone else to take care of him, so he kept watch every night. Only when Gu Moli was safe and sound could he finally relax. Shao Fei had truly accepted Gu Moli as his brother in this life; a brother who would risk his life for him was a blessing Shao Fei had earned in his past life.
