Xiao Bolin, who had been waiting for the investigation results, finally received them. He took a deep breath and opened the documents on the table. When he saw Xiao Dingyu's ID photo, Xiao Bolin's hands trembled.
“Hehe…hehe,” Xiao Bolin chuckled softly, his eyes red. “Xiao Dingyu, so that’s how it is! He changed his surname and even his given name. No wonder we couldn’t find him.” Xiao Bolin murmured.
Xiao Bolin composed himself and continued reading the documents. He saw that Xiao Dingyu was married with a daughter and a son. His wife, Li Mei, was an employee of the street office; his daughter, Xiao Xue, was a textile factory worker who had taken the college entrance examination and was admitted to Peking University; and his son, Xiao Yu, was a high school student.
After reviewing the information on Xiao Dingyu's family, Xiao Bolin sat quietly for a long time without moving. When he finally got up, he had already begun arranging work, asking his superiors for leave to prepare for a trip to Northeast China.
In Stone Town, Xiao Dingyu, who had just returned home from get off work, sat quietly in his chair, thinking about the phone call he had received from Beijing at noon.
"Deputy Factory Director Xiao, you have a call for me, go answer it!" a factory worker called out to Xiao Dingyu, who was busy at work.

Xiao Dingyu walked to the telephone and picked up the receiver. "Hello! This is Xiao Dingyu. How can I help you?"
"Dingyu, this is Wei Zhilun. I have something to tell you. Someone is investigating your information. By the time I found out, it was too late."
Xiao Dingyu frowned deeply. "Uncle Zhilun, do you know who is investigating my background?"
Wei Zhilun sighed. "Dingyu, it's Xiao Bolin, the youngest son of the Xiao family and your uncle. He's investigating your background. He already has the information, and I only found out about it today. I don't know why he suddenly started investigating you. But his youngest son goes to the same school as Xiaoxue, and Xiaoxue looks very much like that boy."

When Xiao Baiyu was mentioned, both Xiao Dingyu and Wei Zhilun fell silent. After a minute, Wei Zhilun spoke on the other end of the phone, "Dingyu, that's enough! You take care of your business, I'm hanging up now."
