As expected, Li Mei walked ahead while Xiao Dingyu followed behind. Once inside the room, Xiao Dingyu started clinging to her. He sat on the edge of the bed, holding Li Mei tightly as she stood, his head nuzzling against her chest.
Li Mei was worried that Xiao Dingyu might do something bad, especially since the house wasn't soundproof and there was an elder in the house. But Xiao Dingyu, who had been playfully shoving, suddenly started crying. At first, he sobbed softly, then he cried out loud, and then he burst into tears.
Xiao Dingyu held Li Mei tightly, burying his face in her stomach and sobbing uncontrollably. This startled Li Mei. In the twenty years they had been married and had children, she had never seen Xiao Dingyu cry so violently.
Tears welled up in Li Mei's eyes as well. "Dingyu, what happened? Why are you crying so sadly? Please tell me. I'll face it and solve it with you."
Xiao Dingyu, sobbing uncontrollably, pulled his head away from Li Mei's embrace and looked up at her. "Wife, when I was fifteen, I lost my mother and my home. I had nothing left and became like an orphan."

Li Mei hugged Xiao Dingyu tightly, tears streaming down her face. She realized how much her Dingyu had suffered. No wonder he said on their wedding day, "Wife, I finally have a home. Thank you for giving me a home. I will treat you well from now on. If I, Xiao Dingyu, ever do anything to hurt you, then I, Xiao Dingyu, will suffer the consequences."
Her Dingyu must be suffering terribly! For over twenty years, he's kept it all bottled up inside, never showing his pain to his family. Standing in the living room, Xiao Bolin was in tears. He had just come out to get a glass of water when he heard Xiao Dingyu crying. Xiao Bolin stood there listening to Xiao Dingyu's words, which felt like knives piercing his heart.
