Chapter 209 The Final Result, and the Three's Plans (2/2)

"The teachers from the Western medicine department also said that they thought she, as a student from the traditional Chinese medicine department, might not know much about Western medicine. But in the end, she got the best score in the exam. While other students couldn't even handle surgical needles and sutures, she could already sew up stitches."

"Zhenhua, tell me honestly, what level is your apprentice at? I think it's a waste of her talent to keep her in school like this."

Huang Zhenhua smiled and said, "If we're talking about skill level, I think her learning ability is very strong. Xingran started learning medicine from me when she was twelve years old, so it's been six years now! She has learned everything I taught her, and she can also glean knowledge from medical books on her own."

"I, as her mentor, have nothing more to teach her; the rest is up to her. As for Western medicine, you all know that Qingxiao is quite experienced in this area. I gave all of Qingxiao's notes to Xingran; when she was fourteen years old back in her hometown, she was already able to treat and stitch up injured animals."

Principal Wu and Gu Zhang were friends, so he was naturally acquainted with Huang Zhenhua as well. Hearing their conversation, Principal Wu felt that a student who had left his teacher with nothing to teach was like what old martial arts schools used to say: the master had nothing left to teach his apprentice, and the apprentice was ready to graduate.

Principal Wu looked at Huang Zhenhua and said, "What are your thoughts on Dr. Huang? After all, she's your apprentice, so you know her quite well. I saw from her file that when she was in junior high school, she applied to study at home and only went to school to take the exam."

Seeing Principal Wu and Teacher Gu staring at him, Huang Zhenhua said helplessly, "What could I possibly think? Xingran still needs to go to school! Do you, Old Wu, want her to study at home and then come back to school to take the exams?"

Gu Zhang suddenly clapped his hands, as if he had just thought of something. "Useful and talented people should be sent to where they belong. Old Wu, have you forgotten that back when the college entrance examination was still in effect, there were students in similar situations?"

"You were his teacher at the time. Wasn't that male student busy with his own things outside, and he was supposed to come back to school to take the exam?"

I remember Principal Wu, whom Gu Zhang mentioned. That male student's family were national research personnel. He was enrolled in the school on a nominal basis, working on research with his parents. He would return to take the exams when it was time to take them, and this continued until he graduated from university and received his degree.

Watching the two men gesticulating wildly as they spoke, Huang Zhenhua sensed that they wanted to "sell out" his apprentice. He understood that they simply felt Xingran was wasting his time at school and should be out there contributing to society.

Gu Zhang looked at Huang Zhenhua and said, "Zhenhua, I think you should let your apprentice do an internship at a hospital. Find a doctor you know to mentor her, and then have her go back to school to take the exam."

Principal Wu nodded in agreement. He valued talent and knew the country needed it. Doctors were also in short supply, and he didn't mind talented students contributing to society as soon as possible. As long as they passed the exams, it didn't matter whether they stayed in school or not.

Huang Zhenhua had previously considered having Su Xingran intern at the military hospital under the supervision of the department head. After all, he knew that Su Xingran had nothing to learn at school; she already knew everything that was available.

Su Xingran had no idea that her master, principal, and teachers were planning to send her out for an internship to work like a slave.
