Chapter 250 Submitting a Marriage Report (2/2)

Su Xingran chuckled softly on the other end of the line. "My parents know, and they're very satisfied with you. Just report it to them. Take good care of yourself. Gu Moli, what you've heard is true. I'm human too, and I have feelings. We can't take up too much time on the phone, so I'll hang up now. Goodbye."

Su Xingran's voice was no longer on the other end of the line. Gu Moli silently put down the receiver. He quickly turned and ran towards his boss's office. Gu Moli finally understood why Su Xingran had hung up earlier. It turned out she was calling her parents to talk about this. His girl was braver than him; while he was still thinking about confessing his feelings, his girl had already taken the final step.

After Su Xingran and Gu Moli finished their phone call, the Gu family arrived with bags and packages on the evening of the third day. Upon seeing Su Xingran, Liang Yun's eyes narrowed into slits with a smile.

Liang Yun held Su Xingran's hand and said, "Xingran, my silly boy has finally waited for you. Mo Li called me yesterday to tell me that he submitted his marriage proposal to you. I don't know how to describe how happy he was."

Listening to Liang Yun's words, Su Xingran thought of Gu Moli's heartbroken expression. A slight smile appeared on Su Xingran's lips. She thought that this person wasn't usually one to show his emotions openly. But in this matter, Gu Moli was truly very expressive; it was easy to sense his joy.

Liang Yun said to Su Xingran, "Xingran, it would be appropriate for us to visit your parents. Junru and I didn't go when Xiaoxue came, and we both felt very bad about it. Xingran, you don't need to ask for leave or anything, we can arrange a time to go."

Su Xingran initially wanted to say no, it would be too much trouble to make the trip, but seeing Liang Yun's earnest and certain expression, she couldn't bring herself to say it. Perhaps her parents also hoped for this; in the village, when a daughter gets married, the groom's family always sends someone to visit her family.

The Gu family decided on a date to go to Sujia Village, but Su Xingran had surgery scheduled and didn't have time to take time off to accompany them. In the end, the Gu family drove there themselves.

Liang Yun brought her younger brother and sister-in-law, while Gu Moting took leave to bring Xiao Xue and their child. Liang Yun rode in Gu's own car, driven by her nephew. Gu Moting drove a borrowed car with his wife and child. Both cars were filled with gifts, some for the Xiao family and others for the Su family.

Su Guomin and his wife received a call saying that the Gu family was on their way home. The couple were quite surprised; they hadn't expected the Gu family to make such a long trip. They had been planning to visit Beijing before their two children's weddings.

Three days later, two vehicles drove into Sujia Village. Now that the land had been distributed to individual households, the villagers were much freer than before. The arrival of the two vehicles quickly attracted attention.

The villagers watched as the two cars stopped at Su Guomin's house. Six adults and one child got out of the cars. Gu Moting had been to Su Family Village many times; he recognized Su Xingran's house.

Su Guomin and his wife were inside when they heard the car and came out. Liang Yun saw them and quickly went up to greet them. "Guomin, Huilan, we apologize for disturbing you. Mo Li can't come because he doesn't have time off, and he asked me to convey his apologies to you."

Zeng Huilan took Liang Yun's hand and said, "Sister Yun, you're too kind. We know that Mo Li is a soldier and it's normal that he doesn't have time. Please come inside and sit down, and we'll talk slowly later."

Liang Yun glanced around and saw a large crowd of villagers gathered outside the door to watch the commotion. She said to Zeng Huilan, "Okay, let's go inside first." Liang Yun then turned to Gu Moting and said, "Moting, you and Xiao Chen carry the things inside."
