Chapter 255 Meeting Gu Moli's Friend (1/2)

Gu Moli felt truly happy at this moment. Picking his wife up from work and going home for dinner together—this was a scene he had longed for for years. Before the car started moving, Gu Moli held Su Xingran's hand tightly. Su Xingran tilted her head to look at Gu Moli and saw a broad smile on his face.

Seeing Su Xingran tilting her head to look at him, Gu Moli glanced outside and, finding no one passing by, leaned closer and kissed her cheek. He gently released Su Xingran's hand, started the car, and drove home.

Su Xingran sat calmly in the passenger seat, but her ears were quietly turning red. She noticed that since they got their marriage certificate, Gu Moli would always find opportunities to make physical contact, but he would restrain himself from going any further.

When Gu Moli and Su Xingran returned to the Gu family home, Su Guomin and Zeng Huilan were sitting in the living room chatting with Gu Moli's parents. Gu Moting had been transferred to a military unit in Beijing, and he was living in the military compound with Xiao Xue and their child. They would be back for dinner that evening.

This was Su Guomin and Zeng Huilan's first visit to the Gu family home. Looking at their house, the couple realized even more how well-off the Gu family was. Fortunately, their daughter was outstanding and didn't need to rely on either her parents' or her husband's family.

Su Xingran had visited the Gu family many times, but she had never been inside Gu Moli's room. After dinner, Gu Moli took Su Xingran to see the room, since it would be her room after the wedding.

Su Xingran walked into the room. The room was quite large, and besides the bed, there was a desk. It was as simple as it couldn't be simpler.

Gu Moli walked up to Su Xingran and said, "Ranran, there's not much in the room. See if there's anything you need, and we can add it, okay? You don't have to stay here after the wedding if you don't want to. Your parents aren't the kind of people who insist on living with their son and daughter-in-law."

“Before my eldest brother and sister-in-law got married, my parents said that we could live at home or move out. My eldest brother, my sister, and I were each given a house by our parents.”

Su Xingran thought for a moment and said, "Let's stay here after the wedding! We can move out later if we want. By the way, I also have a house next to my master's. Since you're going back to the army, and I have to go to work every day, it doesn't really matter where we stay, as long as we have a place to rest at night."

Su Xingran looked around the room again and said, "I think we should add a wardrobe and a dressing table to the room. I also have a lot of books, so a place to put them would be fine. What do you think?"

Gu Moli imagined that the room would have an extra wardrobe to store his and Ranran's clothes. An extra dressing table so Ranran could sit in front of it every morning and evening to tidy herself up. An extra bookshelf so Ranran could read in her free time.

Gu Moli felt that this room, filled with the warmth of everyday life, was perfect. He had never been particular about the room; it was just a place to sleep, and a bed was all he needed. But with Su Xingran by his side, he wanted the room to be filled with the atmosphere of their life together.

Gu Moli replied, "Okay, Ranran, tell me what style you like, and I'll go take a look tomorrow. Once I've decided, I can have someone move it home."

Su Xingran recalled that on the day they got their marriage certificate, she and Gu Moli went to the department store to look at furniture. Su Xingran told Gu Moli about the furniture she had seen that day that she thought was suitable.

The two didn't linger in the room, as there were still elders downstairs. They chatted in the living room until around nine o'clock, after which Gu Mo left his car to take Su Xingran and Su Guomin and his wife back to the Huang family home.

The next day, after dropping Su Xingran off at work, Gu Moli went home to pick up Liang Yun. The mother and son went to the department store to look at the wardrobe and dressing table Su Xingran had mentioned. As for the book storage, Gu Moli planned to have someone come and get one.
