Chapter 268 Gu Moli rushes back as delivery is imminent (2/2)

When Gu Moli got off the train, Gu Moting picked him up. Gu Moting drove him to the hospital. Gu Moting knew that Su Xingran was about to give birth, and he would be very sad if Moli couldn't make it in time.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Gu Moli immediately ran towards the obstetrics department. Having learned the room number from her older brother, Gu Moting, Gu Moli found Su Xingran's room; the door was open, and Gu Moli went straight in.

Su Xingran had just finished eating and was walking around the room. Gu Moli looked at Su Xingran's belly, and his eyes instantly reddened. When Su Xingran saw Gu Moli rushing back, looking travel-worn, her nose also felt a little sore.

Gu Moli was thankful he had made it in time; Su Xingran hadn't given birth yet. Gu Moli couldn't imagine how painful it would be for a woman to give birth without her husband by her side. Any normal man would feel it was a great loss.

Zeng Huilan and Liang Yun, who were inside the room, looked at Gu Moli who appeared at the door. They exchanged a glance, understood each other, and walked out of the room, giving Gu Moli and Su Xingran some space.

Gu Moli walked up to Su Xingran and said in a hoarse voice, "Ranran, I'm back. I'm sorry for making you suffer alone."

After speaking, Gu Moli touched Su Xingran's belly. The baby inside Su Xingran's belly suddenly moved a few times, as if responding to Gu Moli.

Su Xingran had pain in her stomach and lower back. She said with a slightly unnatural expression, "It's good that you're back. You made it in time for the baby to come out. You just got off the train and came straight here, right? Are you hungry? There are still dumplings and chicken soup on the table. I'm so full that I can't eat anymore. You can eat some to fill your stomach."

Gu Moli had no appetite, but Su Xingran insisted he eat. Gu Moli wouldn't disobey Su Xingran, so he sat down, opened his lunchbox, picked up the chopsticks, and quickly began to eat, all the while keeping an eye on Su Xingran.

Su Xingran felt her stomach was hurting so badly she could barely stand. Gu Moli finished eating his lunchbox and, seeing that Su Xingran was in trouble, quickly stood up to support her.

Gu Moli asked anxiously, "Ranran, are you feeling unwell? Let me help you sit down and rest for a bit."

With Gu Moli's help, Su Xingran sat down on the edge of the bed. At that moment, Su Xingran felt the baby inside her moving very violently. Enduring the pain, Su Xingran said, "Moli, go call the doctor. I think I'm about to give birth."

Upon hearing Su Xingran's words, Gu Moli quickly ran to the door to call Liang Yun and Zeng Huilan. Zeng Huilan immediately went to call the doctor, and Liang Yun came in from outside. Gu Moli squatted by the bedside, looking at Su Xingran.

Su Xingran felt a warm current gushing from her body. Her water had broken—that was Su Xingran's first reaction. Su Xingran called out to Gu Moli, "Moli, help me to the bed, my water has broken."

Fortunately, Su Xingran had the foresight to put a layer of plastic sheeting on the bed. She used her own bed sheet and put an extra layer on top of the plastic sheeting, which prevented the hospital bed from getting dirty and wet.
