Chapter 29: Bringing up the family division issue again at the old house (2/2)

When Old Man Su saw that his father didn't speak and only glanced at him and his wife, his anger immediately surged. This unfilial son dared to ignore him. If he didn't teach him a lesson today, he wouldn't know who his father was.

Old Man Su raised his hand and slapped Father Su. Father Su reached out and grabbed the hand that was about to hit his face. Father Su's hands were strong from years of hard work, and Old Man Su felt a bit of pain from the grip.

"You unfilial son, let me go! You dare to lay a hand on me now!" Old Man Su roared angrily. "Second son, let go of your father! You rebellious devil, aren't you afraid of being struck by lightning?" Old Woman Su stepped forward and pulled at her father.

Father Su pushed the hand he was holding forward, and Old Man Su took two steps back. Father Su's push was not very strong, but he was still mindful of Old Man Su's kindness in giving him life. Otherwise, Old Man Su would have taken more than two steps back.

After regaining his footing, Old Man Su still looked shaken. He pointed at Su's father and said, "You, you, you unfilial son! My Su family is unfortunate to have such a rebellious son and such a troublesome person like you."

Father Su had heard these words so many times that he was now immune to them. They didn't bother him anymore; what did it matter? "Father, Mother, I've come to your house today to discuss something with you."

"What do you want us to do, you unfilial son?" Old Man Su had a bad feeling about this. "Father, don't worry, you'll find out soon enough." Father Su had already heard footsteps behind him.

Sure enough, the group that had followed them soon entered the courtyard. Old Man Su and Old Woman Su were somewhat bewildered when they saw the group of people walking in behind Su's father. They couldn't understand what was going on; why were so many people coming to their door?

At this moment, Old Man Su's bad feeling deepened. "Father, Mother, let's go inside and talk. Uncle and the others are old and it's not good for them to stand for too long; they should sit down."

Before Old Man Su could react, Father Su led a group of people into the house. Sister-in-law Su and her and her eldest son's children, who were inside, were startled to see such a large group enter and quickly moved to one side of the wall.

Father Su found stools and made sure the older uncles and the old village chief sat down. The remaining stools were given to his eldest and second uncles, and to Old Man Su and Old Woman Su. There were no more stools, so Father Su had to apologize to the village chief and the brigade leader.

The village chief and the brigade leader waved their hands. They understood. These days, who has so many stools to sit on at home? Anyway, they often handle village affairs and stand most of the time. So, they're standing all the time, so it doesn't matter where they stand.

Father Su nodded, remembering everything. Once everyone was seated, he led Mother Su to stand in front of the elders and said, "Father and Mother, I've come today to discuss the division of the family property."

Hearing what Su's father said, the old man's bad feeling was confirmed. Su's wife couldn't help but jump out, pointing at Su's father and yelling, "You rebellious devil, trying to separate the family? Separate what family? Didn't we separate a long time ago? What are you trying to do today? Trying to steal our things?"

As Su Laoda followed in from the back of the crowd, his heart tightened upon hearing what Su Laopo said. Could it be that his second brother really had come to rob them? Otherwise, why would he have called so many people?

Thinking of this, even the eldest brother, Su, couldn't hold back any longer. "Second brother, what are you doing? Are you bringing people here to threaten our parents? We separated from the family ten years ago, and you've been living away from home for over ten years. Now you're back to cause trouble. Do you think I, as the eldest brother, am easy to bully?"
