Chapter 97 Su Xingran's Midnight Surveillance: Zhang Yizhu's Plan Begins (2/2)

Sensing something amiss, the three hidden police officers communicated with each other using hand gestures. After exchanging information, one of the officers quickly retreated to report.

Su Xingran stayed until six in the morning, when smoke from cooking breakfast rose everywhere in the village. The Zhang family's gate remained quiet and unmoved.

Su Xingran changed into running clothes in her spatial dimension, pretending she had just returned from a morning run, and calmly walked into her house. Around five in the morning, Su Xingran went home and unlocked the hidden lock on the front door to make it easier for her to enter when she came home.

At the Zhang family home, Zhang Yizhu took out a packet of medicinal powder, poured it into a bowl of water, and stirred it well with a chopstick. Zhang Yizhu picked up the bowl, brought it to his lips, tilted his head back, and gulped it down.

After more than ten minutes, Zhang Yizhu started sweating profusely and vomiting. His face turned pale, and he collapsed onto the stool, his body going limp.

Ding Cuihua, Zhang Yizhu's wife, had prepared breakfast and was about to come into the house to call Zhang Yizhu to eat. She was startled to see him slumped on a stool, pale and sweating profusely.

Yizhu, how are you? Are you feeling unwell? Why are you so pale and sweating so much? Ding Cuihua was really worried. She rarely sneezes, but now she looks so weak and powerless.

"It's nothing, I'm fine. I just vomited, and my body feels a little weak and cold. I'll go lie down and rest for a while." Zhang Yizhu's voice was weak, making it clear that he was in a very uncomfortable state.

"We'll be starting work soon," Ding Cuihua asked repeatedly, confirming. "Yizhu, are you really alright? Should I go to Doctor Huang and ask him to come and take a look at you?"

Hearing Ding Cuihua mention Dr. Huang, Zhang Yizhu's eyes flickered. "Cuihua, how about this, you go to work first, and then ask for leave to come back and check on me in two hours. If my condition is worse than it is now, go to Dr. Huang's house and ask him to come and take a look at me."

Ding Cuihua nodded. "Okay, I understand. I've made breakfast. Do you want me to bring it in for you?"

"No need, I haven't fed you yet. You go to work. I'm very sleepy and want to sleep and rest." Zhang Yizhu waved for Ding Cuihua to leave.

Su Xingran was sorting medicinal herbs at her master's house when she heard a noise at the door. She looked towards the door and saw Zhang Weibing's mother, Ding Cuihua, panting and leaning against the door.

"Dr. Huang, is Dr. Huang home?" Ding Cuihua was still panting, but she had already walked into the yard and called out.

Hearing the call, Doctor Huang came out of the house. "What do you want?" Doctor Huang asked, looking at the woman in the yard. Doctor Huang recognized her; he knew she was Zhang Yizhu's wife.

"Dr. Huang, please come to my house quickly and check on my son, Yizhu. He's lying in bed, burning hot, and unconscious. I've called him so many times, but he hasn't responded." Ding Cuihua was truly anxious; her forehead was covered in sweat.

Upon hearing Ding Cuihua's words, Su Xingran's expression turned serious. What a coincidence! Two men entered the Zhang family home last night and didn't leave, and Zhang Yizhu started feeling unwell today.

She looked at the craftsman at the door, her mind racing with thoughts of whether the enemy's plan was about to begin. The man who had infiltrated the Zhang family's hideout in the middle of the night arrived when Zhang Yizhu was unwell, and Ding Cuihua went to ask the craftsman to come to the Zhang family to examine him.

Su Xingran formed an enemy's plan in her mind: first, arrange for someone to enter the Zhang family home to wait; Zhang Yizhu would feign illness; then her master would come to the house for a medical consultation. They probably wanted to take action while her master was at the Zhang family home! Thinking of this, Su Xingran went inside the house; she had something to say to her master.
